I had to do it in honor of Eddie Murphy as The Riddler! Come 2011, you'll have one too!

I assumed it was: Wuertz, the bartender, Maroni, Maroni's driver, and you see one of Maroni's men get grabbed by Two-Face before he goes in the car.
Two of them were cops he killed so if it played out like you say only one cop was killed.

Finally got around to watching all 2 featurettes on the DVD. Nice, but goddammit I want more! 5 minutes on the score and 15 minutes on the Batsuit and Batpod is nothing! Where's the discussion about the Joker's design, Two-Face's makeup, shooting in Hong Kong, the tunnel chase, etc.?

It's pretty obvious that they wanted to reserve most of the space on Disc 2 for the shittastic Digital Copy.

For anyone who doesn't mind a trip to the bookstore, the latest issue of Cinefex has an awesome in-depth article on how all the SFX on TDK were done. Not many pics unfortunately, but a good read nonetheless.

Good movie but the hosptial scene was ridiculous and stupid. " Hey look at me i'm going to blow up a hospital and hop right into a bus because nobody will be looking at the hospital blowing up behind them". It's just that easy.

How so? Giving innocent children 50% chance of living is hardly fair.
I'm just saying how is he confusing fair with impartial when they mean the same thing. And he was going to punish Gordon. Dent lost the one person he loved, so he felt in his mind that Gordon should suffer too.

I don't know why is WB bothering with these ads. Waste of money.

Agreed. After the globe nominations, they should only bother with best supporting actor and best cinematography adverts - the only likely nominations it will get, come oscars.

Worked for Titanic. Not really trying to compare the two films, however this film will be nominated for more then 3-4 Oscars.

I hope it gets the recognition, but I doubt it will after seeing the GG noms.

If anyone thinks the globes have any say on how the oscar nods are going to go, they really have no idea how award season works at all.

Right now TDK is looked at as a film that has anywhere from spot 3 to 5 in regards to best picture. Only two films have a spot locked and thats Milk and Slumdog

Since we were discussing which five people Gordon was referring to that Dent supposedly killed... that brings me back to a question I've had for awhile but never posed to the forum.

Obviously the ending of the movie, with Batman taking the blame to spare Dent's good name, is badassical. However... I can't help but feel it was unnecessary, which kinda ruins the entire scene. Why not just come out that the killer in this case is still at large? Say it was one of the Joker's men. Joker planned for the death of Rachel to be carried out while he was behind bars, why couldn't he have done it with the people Dent killed?

Forgive me if this was already mentioned but I thought this was a nice throwback to Chicago (or rather Illinois):

Compare that to Illinois' license plate:

Any more subtle Illinois/Chicago references like this?

I know in a couple of scenes in the trailer they have signs from chicago up but im not sure if it changed when the movie came out.

Apart from some exceptions, most films nominated at the Globes tend to get nominated in their respective categories at the oscars.

TDK is most likely going to get nominations only in the following categories: Best Sound, Sound Mixing, Cinematography and Best Supporting actor for Ledger. You can quote me on that.

That's kind of irrelevant because Batman still takes the blame for killing Dent. Either way he's a killer.

Batman had already killed Dent, and was already going to go down as a "dark knight." At least, by taking the blame for Dent's murders, he not only helps preserve Dent's reputation but also he is able to make Gotham afraid of him again. Maroni had told Batman that the mob was wise to his "rules," and that Batman would never kill someone; if everyone believed that Batman has been killing mobsters and crooked cops, then they'll start fearing him again.

same thing with the opening sequence. a fucking schoolbus crashed into a bank and no one even noticed it.

I meant to say with my original post that Dent's death could also have been blamed on one of the Joker's men. There were no eye witnesses to Dent getting knocked off the building (yes, I know the cops were already forming a perimeter, but it took a few minutes after Dent's death before any of them arrive behind the building, for whatever reason). And really, the cops didn't even know Batman was there until they see him running away in a suspicious manner (which he did purposefully, after telling Gordon to make the cops believe the death was his fault).

I guess it makes sense that Batman can use the situation to be more effective at what he does... but it always seemed to me that the decision (or at least, the scene itself) was more about the selfless sacrifice of saving Dent's name.

Anyway, again, I do love the ending. This is just me nitpicking and dissecting a movie which definitely fascinates me. ;)

I'm pretty sure they did that so that the plates on the cars in the distance throughout the movie had the same look. Continuity.

What the fuck else are they gonna spend their Oscar marketing money on?

And it's not like they don't have a bajillion dollars in the bank anyway thanks to Nolan.

And he was restrained probably due to mental instability. And he was guarded to protect him from the mob/joker.

I have a question. And it probably has already been discussed to death, or answered, or whatevever.

When Ramirez calls Gordon's wife to tell her that she'll call the guards off... How does she do it? Dent knocks her out right after the call, and we know she hasn't called them already by the dialogue.

What. She doesn't tell her that she's going to call the guards off. She says they aren't to be trusted.. And that she should leave the house.

I was thinking more so that he doesn't scratch his scarred ass face when he's sleeping. You can consciously not do it, but when you sleep, who knows?
