Sorry for bumping this dying thread, but I rewatched the movie again today after a long time not seeing it...

Yep, it's still fantastic.

The best part was that you made a thread for a website that had NOTHING on it :lol

Indeed. I made the thread with the intent of pulling a fast one on Batfans, to get them worked up over nothing. The joke ended up being on me though when the thread ended containing all the viral shit and over 7000+ posts :lol

Another funny thing is that TDK only came out 9 months ago. It feels like its been 2+ years or so for me.

That should have been the first sign that your 2008 predictions would be slightly off ;)

Are you taking another shot at them this year? No Batman and Bond to mess with you this time!

Up, Star Trek, and Public Enemies are the only films I see standing in the way (in terms of quality). We will see though.
The buzz on Public enemies has ranged from good to absolutely dreadful. i don't know what to expect.

Best kiss? Anyone notice that Rachel kisses Bruce when he spends the night at Bruce's penthouse and then the following night, kisses Dent before he's to be taken to the county jail.

Nah, Batman 3 is too far off right now. However, I may return with a vengeance with a pre-release thread in 2011!

Hmm...will any summer blockbuster beat TDK this year in terms of quality or box office?

I say no.

Quality? Star Trek looks like a winner. Box office? Hell no. TDK is the second highest grossing movie ever. Itll be another 5-10 years until we get another box office phenom like that.

Hmm I was thinking it would be like 3 years... a dark summer indeed.

And yeah Public Enemies look good, but won't do good money.

Until the next Batman that is :D

Nah. It'll do crazy bank again, the chances of duplicating that rare kind of success are slim. Yeah, I know, LOLOLOLZ Solo box office predictions, but still.

Was reading Wiki for the movie, and I just found this part odd.

For seven years, IMDb's Top 250 Movies of All-Time (a list of the top movies based on user ratings on a scale of 1 to 10) had The Godfather ranked number one and The Shawshank Redemption ranked number two. On July 19, 2008, however, The Dark Knight finally dethroned The Godfather from that number one position.[147] The last time The Godfather hadn't been ranked number one was in 2001 when it was dethroned briefly by The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. While The Dark Knight held the top spot, many fans of The Godfather were angry and began giving The Dark Knight a 1 rating (the lowest) to try and return The Godfather to the number one position, even if they thought the movie deserved a higher ranking. Conversely, fans of The Dark Knight were doing the same for The Godfather to keep it at number two. Eventually and ironically, all of the 1 ratings for both movies pushed them both down to number 2 and 3, and the The Shawshank Redemption up to number one, where it currently resides today. If it hadn't have been for The Dark Knight fans giving so many 1 ratings to The Godfather, The Shawshank Redemption most likely would have never been ranked at the top. Currently, The Dark Knight is ranked sixth while The Godfather is ranked second

Some fans. :lol

The odd part about it, for me, is that I'm fairly sure that Shawshank has been #1 several times before.

Christian Bale talks about Heath Ledger's win and Batman 3.

On Heath's oscar win:

“Heath winning Best Supporting Actor was fantastic. I had dinner with his family a couple of nights before the awards and liked very much they were the people who were picking it up for him. Of course I was really delighted that it did go that way."

On The Dark Knights oscar chances:

“I’m not surprised by The Dark Knight not getting more Oscars though. I’m not really surprised by anything to do with awards. Hey listen, awards or not it’s a wonderful movie. Chris Nolan did such a fantastic job of it and you look back at the history of the Oscars – some of the best movies never got shit."

On Batman 3:

"Will we do a third movie? It's got to be the right story. You can't make something like The Dark Knight and then come out with something disappointing."

"I would like it if people say, 'You'll never make a good third movie.' I say, 'OK, let's make a third movie in that case, let's prove them wrong. But that's just me. The fact is, I have to! I've signed up! Chris doesn't. So I'm in a bit of a fix if he says he doesn't want to!"

I didn't know Heath got the oscar for his role! Awesome and well-deserved. :D
Would be pissed off if he didn't.

I like how Bale cuts through all bullshit and says how it really is.

This movie should have been nominated and should won best score. The music is awesome.

Yep, I had always said that was the biggest injustice right before Ron Howard being nominated over Nolan for best Director.
