The Day Before can't seem to catch a break, as the latest trailer for the game has caused developer Fntastic to be accused of plagiarizing from a Call of Duty trailer. Announced almost two years ago, The Day Before quickly became a sensation among gamers. After being delayed several times, and getting delisted from Steam for a bizarre case of trademark infringement, The Day Before sparked debates among consumers about fraudulent marketing. This new development, coming on the heels of two lackluster gameplay trailers being released, might have put even more fuel on the fire.
The Day Before is an open-world MMO with survival mechanics, and players will have to fight against flesh-devouring zombies and scavenge for supplies as they try to survive in a post-apocalyptic USA. In the earlier trailers, the game showcased players fighting against hordes of zombies and enemy patrols in an incredibly detailed world. From all the initial marketing, The Day Before looked really promising, with it becoming the second-most wishlisted game on Steam. But as time went on and the problems started to roll in, prospective consumers began to speculate if the game was just another case of smoke and mirrors.
