Gamespot has a good article up about the twelve 360 launch titles that were demo'd a week after X05. The reviews vary, as the overall experince was called 'hit and miss'. There was a funny quote -

- "these launch games can be equated to the first wave of soldiers set upon Normandy in 1944. They'll likely be shot down, but they'll clear the way for the real breach."

Seems like some titles are doing great, and some will still have to use the month they have left.

It's generally a good idea to link to the article in question.

But uh, yeah not surprising. I expect there to be good titles, and lame ones. And I expect 98% of all the titles to be considered mediocre garbage within a year of the launch, quickly rendered irrelevant by next-gen titles that show how it's actually supposed to be done. Same applies for all the launches, and almost all the launches that have come before.

While we're talking about X360 launch games, let me ask if anyone has actually seen the system running on a 1080i signal... I know the games are 720p by default, but my one TV doesn't do that resolution, and I am curious how bad it will look at 1080i (maybe 480p would even be preferrable!).

The thing has a built in upscaler right?

No one can probably answer this, since Microsoft probably hasnt shown the system off under a less than ideal setup...

I liked it, because its not trying to totally bash the box. They talk about which titles have greatly improved since they last saw them. It gave me a better idea of what to expect at launch. Lock on a few good titles and dont stray too far outside that. Noone want to buy crap titles at launch, and there will be a few landmines.

No mention of Condemned in the article...yet the same site has updated it's Condemned page and splooges all over it!

Yeah...kinda wonky article. Really not indicative of how great some games will be!
