My mind would be blown if they announced 20-24 player raids (4-5 teams), but like Destiny, I feel we are going to be limited in player count and I would guess 8 players all together.

We saw an extra 6 slots when you tried to edit the UI on PC. Not sure if that's an extra 6 on top of the 4 in your own group which would equal 10 or if that's and extra 2 people, and it's 6 total. Only time will tell.

I guess it was from my initial impressions of the UI being so integrated in to the game world. If that is what they were aiming for, and what we saw is where they ended up, and is considered final...I'll be a little disappointed. It seemed so fluid in the demos, and during combat. Now it feels like you are totally removed from the game while even checking the map.

Even when that holographic map in original reveal looked neat as hell it also seemed quite impractical to use for navigation. Also I never was fan of that watch menu where you scroll one by one until you find that specific sub-menu you want. Clear grids etc. in beta that I could click with mouse and navigate through fast was pure enjoyment. Different preferences and all, I guess?

Really liked the beta. Played on PS4. Now the big question is, do I cancel the PS4 pre-order and get it on PC? I have a beast of rig that will devour this game. Not that the PS4 version didn't run smoothly, but watching the 60fps PC vids makes me jelly. Plus the eventually mods are always a draw. Biggest concern is lack of a community on PC. I don't want another Titanfall situation.

Decisions, decisions...

Some of the perks in the full game should be pretty nice.

This one in particular:

Black Market Vendor – Unlock Dark Zone fund purchases in the Base of Operations. SWU requirement: Dark Zone Ops

I pre-ordered on PC after playing Beta over the weekend, but I did have a very similar thought slip into my mind worrying about the staying power of community on PC.

Xûr, how I have missed you!

Imagine if they sell a Gjallarhorn equivalent in the first week and then never again. lol

The race for max level + a billion DZP will be real.

Speaking of which, I'm surprised there are no RPGs or heavy weapons in this.

THANK GOODNESS. Teams camping with heavy is the worst in Destiny and with the current rogue system, it would be horrible in The Division.

I chose PS4 because of this and because cheaters in a game like this will be hella annoying.

I've got a question about the gear sold in the Dark Zone checkpoints. Is it randomized per server or is it a universal stock across the entire game?

I ask because when I signed on at 5pm eastern last night, I found a purple sidearm, but I didn't have the DZ credits to purchase it. However, when I signed back on around 10pm eastern, it was no longer at any of the checkpoints.

I know my friend said he couldn't find the 1911 handgun at the base of operations yesterday that was a monster.

So I'm confused on whether everyone sees the same thing or if there is a hint of randomization to it.

i'm in the same spot--concerned about community aspect on pc, especially if there are raids or similar end game content

cross platform pls ubi...

I'm in for gold as well and this is something that's not being talked about.

The division will most likely push people out that don't buy the DLC. Unless they segregate the DZ into different groups of DLC owners (yeah right) get ready to get stomped by people who have the newest DLC.

If you like the division you might as well get gold because most likely if you intend to keep playing you will need the DLC or see your game get diminished.

You've got me tempted now. Can get the Gold Edition for $80 via Amazon. Hmm. If there was a steelbook involved I'd definitely jump on it.

There was 1911 in sale, but I wouldn't call it a monster. It was decent, imo.

Dark Zone vendor stocks are dictated by instance you get put in. At any given time there is X amount of DZ instances, you get put into one of them. Instance 1 has legendary 1911 at vendor, but in instance 2 that same vendor only has blue gun but has legendary backpack.

You can hop between instances by joining into fireteam of player who is in different DZ instance. When you join him you get access to vendor stocks that are exclusive to that particular instance. This instance hopping is how most of the players got full legendary gear, and started to min max stats.

I actually really liked the UI for the most part, but the one thing that bothered me was when the extraction countdown timer would be obscured by objects. Just silly, I should always be able to see it and not have to move out of my cover to do so.

I have no idea why people are bitching about the UI when every single element can not only be COMPLETELY DISABLED, but the ones you do want can actually be moved using separate X and Y axis to anywhere on the screen you want. Even the one to the right of the character can auto hide when not in combat.

People need to spend more time in the options menu and less time rushing to jump on forums to cry.

Ok, thanks for clearing that up. I was wondering how people got so much purple gear. I wish it was a set rotation across the game liked Destiny. I really don't want to hop between instances looking for gear. However, with this knowledge, I can now plan around it.

I think his problem is with that huge countdown clock that is 3D projected into spot from which flare was fired. It can and do get blocked by things like containers etc. on the extraction point, so reading time can get difficult if you have disabled it from HUD.

I hope this BS doesn't make it into the full game as it puts the players who don't do it at a serious disadvantage.

Yeah, I also think it's stupid how every instance have different vendor stocks. For min maxer like myself it makes instance hopping and checkpoint running mandatory so I can find specific items with specific stats that I need. It's kinda neat and frustrating at the same time. I can get min max items faster than e.g. by farming long raid, but same time I will be playing Checkpoint Running Simulator 2016 which sucks.

Vendors in every DZ instance should have identical stock of items and change only when stock refresh timer hits 00:00. This way there would be no need nor incentive for instance hopping.

Edit: My beta "min max";

That'd be a huge kept secret at this point. But the fact that the graffiti exists as the dead will rise seems like a huge hint. Imagine dark zones with all of that going on with a blizzard during night time.
If there are ever zombies in a Tom Clancy game, I think Tom Clancy would himself rise from the grave and eat Yves Guillemot alive.

Can't argue with that part. However i've seen way too many people claim the UI is a "cluttered mess", when it can be changed as you'd like.

Yeah, I really don't feel like looking into what gear is being sold across all the instances for a specific time and then trying to chase it down. Right now, this is the biggest issue I have with the game. I just want a set stock for everyone.

I don't see it being a big deal. Eventually you'll come across all the various stock being sold anyway.

Eventually being the key word here. If this goes unchanged into the full game, we will run into a situation where there is a huge gulf between the hardcore, instance hoppers with their maxed out gear dominating the DZ and the casual players who are unaware of this 'exploit' and turned off from playing in the DZ because they will be constantly owned.

Even worse, if the endgame turns out to be the DZ itself and this being the place to get the best loot in the game.

I actually don't mind the variations in stock, it always somewhat annoyed me when Xur visited in Destiny and then everyone would have the exact same weapon with the exact same specs. This way players will be more unique in what they carry, and if the endgame loot drops are superior I really don't see why this would be an issue at all. Rather I think it extends the longevity of the game to a certain extent, because it might be slightly harder to obtain the ideal specced gear.

I don't understand the amount of UI bitching in general, not just this game. A UI is an important part of being able to effectively play a game, and while removing UI elements looks nice, it removes valuable information. It's fine if you want to gimp yourself in a single player environment, but removing UI elements in a co-op game can make you a burden. Back in my days of WoW raiding I simply wouldn't bring a person who couldn't effectively use their UI and boss mods unless there was no other option.

I would think it would be a lot easier and kill the longevity. The people with the most time and those who know about the way gear is handled will have everything because they will continuously hop until they do.

Only if instance hopping was somehow difficult and time taking. It's just few presses of the button and you have new stock to look at. Current installment of how DZ instances and vendors work it encourages player to instance hop in chase of min max items, and that is poor design in my opinion. Loot drops from chests and from doing other activities has to be clearly better in quality for instance hopping to be discouraged.

We have to wait and see what kind content game will have and what kind HUD information you need for completing it pain free. What beta had was doable with 90% to 100% of HUD turned off.

Keep in mind that there will probably be a lot more vendors in the full game, so that would be a full day job in itself, leaving them virtually no time to actually play the game, you know ganging up on players at extractions and stuff. Plus it's assuming that vendors will sell stuff that is equal or superior to the best available loot drops, something I really doubt. So in other words I think this is only a theoretical issue at best.

How does the server hopping work exactly? Because I did join friends on different servers from time to time when they reported on some good item, but I never went full retard with the hopping.

I liked the UI overall. One thing I did not care for were the consumable and grenade wheels. I found them to be extremely clunky and you can't use them while running either. I'm hoping they tune those up and make them more intuitive before the full game comes out.

1. Go to CP

2. Open up map / matchmaking

3. Instead of matchmaking have it look up "Friends", this pings players on the map who have fireteam set for open

4. Join on one of them

5. Load into new instance, leave group, check vendors

6. Repeat above steps until min max

Loading time from instance to instance on SSD was just couple of seconds making it very fast process. Only part consuming time is running CP's. Like you mentioned above amount of CP's in full game may become issue for runners, but even then there will be route optimisation if hopping remains as best way to get min max gear.

Alright, so it wouldn't depend on the availability of actual friends, just on random players with open fireteams. Do we have any indication of the amount of different vendor versions running at the same time?

It will all depend on the quality of the loot drops, I'm sure that for some it will be an early strategy to visit as many vendors as possible in the hope of finding great gear. But after the first weeks I expect high level players to be primarily equipped with gear from rewards and drops and not from vendors.

I did hopping to find legendary quality knee pads, I needed to do 6 or so hops to find vendor with them. Every instance I visited had different stock on all vendors, not once I saw vendor X having same stock in instances 1, 2, 3.... And I can to every CP each hop. Sampling size is very small, but it does suggest that every instance will have its own item stocks without duplicate stocks. Amount of instances required for duplicate stocks to start showing up most likely is quite absurd.

I was in same boat, but after the beta I received about 8 messages through Xbox Live asking if I am getting it from friends, so going Xbox One because of that. My PC also runs it great but I share the same concerns that you have.

Really liked what I played.

I hope they make an incentive to be nice in the dark zone. Right now it heavily favors being a dick.

There's a few options there that aren't usually in Console versions but nothing really customizable about the UI.

I see, that's unfortunate then.

It can be disabled in some auto fading way but... why would anyone want to remove the UI? I need important information on my screen at all times.

There's this thing that called 'Dynamic UI', so the UI hides itself in non-combat and only shows up in combat situations. You can also show the UI manually if you want.

Not on consoles.

Are you sure about that? I specifically remember toggling off everything and only having the beta watermark still on the screen on PS4. The ammo/skill display popped up during combat/in cover or when I hit square, but otherwise there was nothing else.

There was a toggle for minimap, character level, ammo/skills and even cover/climbing prompts. Again, the ammo stuff showed up when you were doing stuff, but disappeared afterwards.

well I think I'm getting this game day one on xbox one, kind of wanted to play on PC but all my friends are on Xbox One, tough choice, but game is way more fun with friends.

Had fun with the time I spend in the beta, didn't get a chance to fully max out like some did, but well, it was just a beta. I liked the DZ but already know I'm gonna enjoy PvE more and look forward to more info on other activities they will have. Really like the matchmaking for everything as opposed to Destiny which wants you to go outside of the game to do the same thing (still like Destiny though). Overall, if I have the extra money and time I will pickup at release.
