I get the point guys, I must have been blind when I scanned the map.

Looking forward to seeing how the map looks when all the quests and missions are in place.

Thanks Destiny-GAF for the responses. It's cool to hear from people that have invested, what I assume, quite a bit of time in a similar genre and yet (most of you) have found something fun or at least something to have as a side if you get burnt out.

I'm excited to have a Destiny-esque (but not really) experience on the PC. Also with the rumours of raids happening, which I've never done in my life, it's really exciting - I was never into WoW so I don't know anything about the makeup of a raid; all I know is that it is a bunch of players trying to take down a hard end-level boss.

with all the fancy Nvidia tech in the game-- PCSS, HBAO+ etc what are the chances that Nvidia bundles the game with their GPU's?...any Nvidia insiders on this forum?...meaning people will sell their codes for cheap, making this an even better buy

It has a very high chance to be bundled. Pretty much every Ubi game has been bundled in with an Nvidia card this past year. Correct me if I'm wrong though.

1500 hours of Destiny.

33 hours of The Division.

Destiny has its flaws (mm, SBMM, Lag, lack of post TKK content) but for me it is the best fps. What really makes it stand out for me and its closest connection to The Division is the social aspect: playing with your friends, finding new friends and cooperation.

Really looking forward to the full game, got digital gold and the week off work.

Played until the servers shut off this morning. This got a little crazy in the DZ once it got close to shutdown time.
I started going around taunting groups into going rogue.

Ha, that was pretty good. It does make me wonder if they will make adjustments to how they determine rogue status. I kind of feel like continually firing in the direction of players (even if you miss) when there are no enemies around should trigger it.

The social aspect was what I loved about Borderlands 1 & 2, it's why I really enjoy any game with co-op everything. It just blows my mind there are people out there that have invested 1500 hours in a single game, I don't think I could do that unless there is an endless conveyor belt of content.

So, should i jump in for $42 USD from GMG? Does anyone think that we'll get a similar result to Battlefront?

I assume you mean shitty initial content? No, I think there will be quite a bit of initial content. I got 20 hours out of the Beta which is 1 side mission, a couple of side quests, and the dark zone which felt really tiring as the area was so small I felt like I was spinning in circles (which is probably true).

As for jumping in, that's your choice. But there is a high probabilty this game will come bundled with Nvidia GPUs and will be extremely cheap, if you don't mind buying off grey market sites or from people in the B/S/T thread (which is the same thing). Wait until the end of the month I would say, see if anything changes or you can find a better deal.

yeah, this is what I am hoping for. I don't see why not. Then again, we're just about a month from release, and we haven't seen/heard anything.

Why? There's no need to baby people. What makes the game tense and fun in the DZ is the possibility of doing this kind of stuff. I hope they don't make a single change to how rogue status works, it's perfect as-is.

Rise of the Tomb Raider was released 28 Jan, 2016. It's currently bundled with selected NV GPU's, bundle deal was announced Jan 07, 2016. So if there was to be Division bundle for NV GPU's I would expect it to be announced this or next week, imo.

No. It is fine the way it is. The other night I actually saved a player who was getting flanked by an enemy while he was trying to extract. With your idea, that would of made me go rogue. No thanks.

I'm in for gold as well and this is something that's not being talked about.

The division will most likely push people out that don't buy the DLC. Unless they segregate the DZ into different groups of DLC owners (yeah right) get ready to get stomped by people who have the newest DLC.

If you like the division you might as well get gold because most likely if you intend to keep playing you will need the DLC or see your game get diminished.

I'm just curious about the Destiny folks, did you like this game (the little that was accessible)? Was it what you expected? Did it fall short? Did it exceed expectations? Is this the game that will replace Destiny for you? Why or why not?

700 hours of Destiny on my end and I really enjoyed my time with the beta, particularly the Dark Zone. Haven't had that much fun in a MP game in a while. In Destiny I'm more of a PVE player with some PVP on the side, but I get the feeling it's going to be the opposite with the Division. It's hard to say for sure right now though without knowing what the endgame content is going to be, but I wasn't that impressed by the Hospital mission. Hoping that the other missions are more interesting.

Dark Zone definitely exceeded my expectations. I could see myself playing Division more than Destiny, but mostly I imagine I'll be playing both a fairly equal amount once Destiny starts to get some significant content again.

I think the Base of Operations should have been a social hub tbh. Especially since you can't (at least in the beta) fast travel to Camp Hudson.

You could fast travel to Camp Hudson....its just the ability to do so wasn't available immediately. I think you had to at least finish the Madison mission for it to unlock or reach a certain level.

It's specifically not a social hub because i changes differently for every player and thereby looks different and has different people/areas in it depending on how you upgraded.

That's why it's instanced, cause your base and my base could be totally different in upgrades.

Ultimately I don't care that much either way, but I specifically mentioned that they would have to take into account whether or not there were enemies around.

If I ever post something in Japanese which I don't understand, please BAN me.
I can't stop watching videos of the game, i miss the beta already.

Should I keep this installed on the X1 in case of an open Beta...?

Assuming there is an open beta at all and then further assuming they allow you to patch the client....yes.

You only need to leave it installed for a couple more weeks, so by then you'll know either way.

I'll be curious to see what gets addressed in the full game.

'MMO' as a term gets thrown around so much that's its basically lost all meaning. But the Division DZ gets closer than most.

How about more than 1 squad member hits a target guy automatic Rogue status

But

The first guy (a) that hit other (b) imitates a 1v1 where both can duke it out, if others jump in BOOM rogue status battle royal

I really just want a 1v1 duel system

...This is going to sound like nit-picky, because it is, but I really wish they incorporated Christmas a-little more. Something like so you could hear Christmas music playing from buildings/areas. I was re-watching the demos they showed the past couple years, and every one always incorporated a Christmas into it, to give a feel of like..despair, like everything's fucked in the world, but here is this jolly music. I love also seeing like the lights in some places and Christmas trees.

I especially love this moment, after he killed his own teammates for the loot, and it ends with a light Christmas jingle

I think he ment they never go in depth about the raids. Wich is true.

I considered that, but doesn't that go without saying? No one is asking the devs to go in-depth just to acknowledge the existence of it. How surprised would one be at this point if Raids happened to be a thing?

I am quite happy with the rogue system as is, once the full game comes out without the beta borders (meaning rogues can't just teleport out), it should be great. The one and only thing at drives me crazy is how players sometimes randomly get red health bars (either hit someone with a stray bullet or got hit by one themselves), which I almost always mistake for rogues in the midst of a firefight, which means my team of four rogue-hunters suddenly find themselves being shot in the back by everyone in the zone.

So this is GAFs hyped game until Uncharted? I hope that GAF can have a nice community so we can all team up in the DZ.

More worry is that they may not have enough meaningful loot, but time will tell.

DGAF will be pretty heavily represented in the Division, if earlier pages in this thread are anything to go by.

What was so bad about UI? At least with KB&M it was super easy and fast to navigate, and use. Only part of it that I had issue with was menu for vanity items, there was those weird borders between sections that made scrolling get stuck.

I guess it was from my initial impressions of the UI being so integrated in to the game world. If that is what they were aiming for, and what we saw is where they ended up, and is considered final...I'll be a little disappointed. It seemed so fluid in the demos, and during combat. Now it feels like you are totally removed from the game while even checking the map.

I actually really liked the UI for the most part, but the one thing that bothered me was when the extraction countdown timer would be obscured by objects. Just silly, I should always be able to see it and not have to move out of my cover to do so.
