Has everyone here seen the Agent Origins video on Amazon prime? Pretty cool stuff.

It also seems the movie is broken into parts on YouTube for each respective story.

Edit: What the... chest respawn rates in DZ are reduced?! That makes no sense. Chests already had absolutely insane long respawn times, they don't want them to ever respawn?

Refresh rate reduction is respawn rate reduction, how that means chests spawn more often and not less? Really, can someone explain that sentence structure to me because it's throwing my reading comprehension out for the loop.

Something to happen more often it would mean it needs higher rate. If they were to make chests respawn more often they would need to increase refresh rate in order to for it to happen more often.

Refresh rate has been reduced. It's probably poor wording for the Timers getting shortened.

Edit: I have to say, reading those notes though.. they almost seem too good to be true. In some places they're exactly what was suggested by various people in the community as fixes and that really rarely happens.

I believe it's the former.

I am assuming it means the wait time for refresh has been reduced.

I want to believe too that DZ chests now spawn more often than during CB, in CB they respawned well... like ever.

Who ever typed up these patch notes in future shouldn't put words like "rate" & "reduced" into same sentence without thinking it through. You simply don't decrease rate of event X if you want event X to happen with higher frequency. I don't know why it bothers me so much right now :D

So glad to hear there's an open beta, been missing the game since closed beta shut down. I'm curious to see how social/community aspects of the game will be fleshed out, if at all. Would love to see more opportunities for interaction between players in the various hubs, other than group cardio via jumping jack sessions.

It's like they almost fixed every issue I can think of. Let's just hope they didn't introduce many new ones.

But it would seem as if Ubisoft has learned from the R6: Siege betas, because IMO those were very poorly handled.

Pretty amazed by the amount of fixes there. They fixed every single issue that was present in the Closed Beta. Kudos to them for listening and applying the fixes so quickly.

Will I be able to carry my progress over from the closed beta to the open beta?

Progress does not carry over I'm afraid.

It's crazy how quick they've implemented this stuff. People were saying the feedback might not hit till post-launch but here we are getting a heck of a lot of stuff sorted for another beta.

I am impressed with the changes, it's like they actually care and listen to feedback. It's a stark difference from Bungie who has the walled garden play how we want you to mentality.

I love Bungie and Destiny but man.

Wow what a great changelog, if they can keep this up after release we are in for a great ride.

27 days left, the open beta will ease the pain.

I miss the dark zone :(

Does anyone know if PSN preorders of The Division include the Hazmat gear, or is it retail only? Because I can't see any mention of it on the store.

O wow we get to unlock the Tech Wing and the turret skill, awesome!

Those patch notes are great, really happy they're increasing the enemy NPCs in the DZ.

Really fantastic changes, just two things that seem to be missing from my personal "needs to be fixed"-list:

1)
Glitch that makes it possible to pass through almost all walls. That could be a game-breaker in DZ and really has to be fixed for final release.
I know the patch notes say "Several environment fixes to prevent falling through world issues in specific places", but I think it's not the same issue. They only mean the situations where the player has fallen through the environment unintentionally and didn't use the glitch on purpose (with the help of a second player).

2)
Instance-based vendors: The stuff that vendors sell should be the same everywhere. I don't like the idea that players change instances the whole time to check if there are other good items available to purchase.

Btw. I didn't receive the patch yet. Is it only available for the us-version of the game right now?

lol, still beta changes.

Just wait and see what the full game will be like with dev feedback.

It's a good patch list, but I still want to know in more detail exactly what kind of cheat prevention system they got going on for PC. Can't pre-order/buy the game until I know which version to get.

DISCOVER THE DIVISION’S ENEMY FACTIONS

Factions-sheet_238157.jpg

RIOTERS

Profile: Low-life thugs who took advantage of the situation to steal and kill.
Favorite weapon: Handgun, baseball bat

Beware of the thugs who roam in packs through the city. These enemies are low-life criminals, who took advantage of the fall of society to take control of parts of the city. Until you intervene.

CLEANERS

Profile: Firefighters who now believe the only way to eradicate the virus is to burn everything.
Favorite weapon: Flamethrower, submachinegun

Fight against the Cleaners, who wear hazmat suits and wield flamethrowers, set on cleaning New York from the virus by burning everything and everyone. Most of them are former firefighters who turned crazy when the virus hit, and now believe it is their duty to cleanse the world.

RIKERS

Profile: Prisoners who escaped from Riker’s Island prison who take their revenge on authority.
Favorite weapon: Shotgun, submachinegun

Engage with the Rikers, a gang of convicts that escaped Riker’s Island prison and who are now ravaging the city and vying for its control. All these criminals have a strong history of violence, and they now compose on of the most feared faction of The Division.

LAST MAN BATTALION

Profile: Mercenaries who took advantage of their brute force to take control of the city.
Favorite weapon: Assault rifles, sniper rifles

The Last Man Battalion is a private military company hired by Wall Street companies to protect assets during the outbreak. They consist primarily of veteran soldiers with extensive combat experience overseas. When the crisis worsened, the LMB was stranded on Manhattan. They are now taking advantage of their superior weaponry and training to take control of New York City through military force.[/quote]

I think the Rikers and the Cleaners are the most interesting factions. I like their aesthetic look and mannerisms. Last Man Batallion look alright but I've seen military themed factions many times in games so they don't really do much for me.

How would you guys feel about having futuristic combat armour in the game? Not like crazy sci fi but grounded and fitting in with the Tom Clancy vibe. Like a mixture between what the Last Man Battalion are wearing with a tiny bit of Mass Effect.
