8 Players doesn't really make sense. IIRC the Hud showed 5 big areas for team health bars and 3 small areas.. which would be 9 total including your own. So I think it's more likely that once you enter a "raid" mode, the health bars all transfer up to the larger bars so you have 5 + 1 totaling a 6 player activity.

Just checked out rikers island......yes that could be badass. Maybe you get capture and the initial portion has you bared out no equipment, your group gets captured or some shit. Got to stealth your way to the lockers to get your gear back. Unlock and coordinate cell doors. Maybe I should write to the dev some ideas here hahaha
Eh, light was just another name for ilevel and gearscore. The problem was the concept of full RNG instead of the system like it is now made it utterly fucking annoying. Light in TTK is not annoying or anywhere near as bad as vanilla destiny.

It being 5 would mean 1+5 => 6 player content. Weird number imo when fireteam size is 4 players / fireteam. Those 5 slots can't be for 5 full fireteams, that shit would be so out of hand.Jest Chillin

I think it will be 6 man because that's their sweet spot for larger than average group content. It would also explain why they're demoing the game in groups of 3 every chance they get.
Then why bother with 4 man parties? Just make them 3 and scale accordingly.
Even in TTK it's still dictated by RNG more than anything else, but luckily it stops mattering around 310-315. At that point you don't need gain single point of LL if you don't want to, and can do all end-game content without penalties.
But I want those numbers to add up!
Fireteams of 4 with possibility of raidteams of 6, math doesn't add up and it annoys me. 6 is good and manageable number tho I agree, managing raid group of even 10 was tad nightmarish in WoW. Larger ones (25 & 40) were just headache inducing.Edit: Fixed LL brain fart

The initial goal may have been 4 man parties and two parties grouping up for an 8 man raid but in practice it scaled poorly (enemies becoming too spongy or hitting individual players too hard... something like that) so they scaled it back to 6 and found it works well.
There's really no reason for them to scale parties back to 3. There's no rule that Raid numbers have to be divisible cleanly by party numbers at all. There will be plenty of lone wolves or duo's who will be able to fill the two extra slots. Likely far more than there are of complete groups of 4.

My main point is that you can naturally level into 30 just by playind Division however the hell you want. In destiny you HAD to gain the final levels through equipment.
Fuck that.
I'm fine with my DPS being 25% less than some other lvl 30 if I can play what I want, when I want, with who I want, without having to jump through those hoops. Eventually I'll close the DPS gap, since I can actually play the damn content.
Plus they don't seem to have all the artificial restrictions on progress. "Oops you played this mission already this week, sorry try again next week. No more filling that bar today, you must play on our schedule so we can artificially nerf your progression."

Idee for raid content:
There was talk about a PMC being stationed near the UN building. They'd have state of the art gear and all the security measures from the UN building to their disposal.
The raid could be 2 groups of 3 going in, one through the sewers to disable the back uo generators powering the place, the other on ground level to place an EMP that disables all electronics.
Have to coordinate so both happen within 2 minutes of each other.
When using EMP, all your skills are also disabled, so you have to choose when to use it and when to save it for when really necessary.
Boss fights could be against some drones that are remotely controlled. Easy way to end the fight is disable the operator and the drones crash, or you could do hard mode and take down the drones first, while reinforcments show up. When the drones are down, the operator exits and is the real boss fight with extra abilities and gear.
Harder mode has better and more gear ofcourse.
That could be one way to keep the fights interesting: have more then one way of completing the encounter, and depending on that it gets harder or easier for the rest of the instance.

Well it was 3 with a tablet and they dropped tablet for a 4th physical player. So I'm guessing they still have initial design decisions going on at certain points.
I agree fuck dailies and weeklies.....at least in the form of destiny.....I'll go play WoW if I want to be bogged down by a game dictating what I want to do for the day

So there will be 9 player raids? Something seems off about the whole thing if that's true, no?
1+5 is more plausible scenario imo and that lower party segment of HUD isn't used for anything in "large party content".

It changes to the 5 slot when you do "raids" and when you are in a normal group setting it gives you the 3 slot one. So 6 player raids most likely.

Could be the 3 rows at the bottom are the other members of your squad and the 5 rows are another squad, where the top row in the UI is some form of title element for that squad with 4 rows for members below it.

Didn't they say that the group content would take place in a Dark Zone area? Riker's Island would be very badass but unless it is a DZ area you fly into, there won't be any threat of other Rogue Agents.

They have said that Dark Zone isn't only way to gain access to best gear in the game, that clearly suggests pure PvE content that isn't within DZ.

Well if the raids do exist, I wonder if some of the loot rewards for completion will be cosmetic. Since "realistic" clothing will be much harder to show off as elite compared to something like raid armor from traditional mmorpg's, it will be interesting to see how creative they get. We've already seen sets like the fireman set, national guard set, etc....what do you guys think we'll see if a set like that is offered as a reward for raid completion?
If they did raid set in Rikers Island they could do e.g. inmate outfit for Normal mode and rioatguard stuff for Hard mode clears. Inmate theme would be unique and riot gear stuff would make it more distinct from police theme.
Raid set in building where Victoria's Secret was having their fashion show, loot is themed and modeled in spirit of VS. I would put that stuff on my male hero.

Played as badass Asian dude in beta, might go female in retail depending on customization.
You can change Uplay name in an instant as many times as you want on PC so won't be a problem there.

IGN is like most game news sites, they jump on rumors and claim it as facts, until we get a official statement it's nothing more than a rumor. It's even been hinted at by the community manager as fake i.e dont believe everything you see on the Internet.
It have been posted god knows how many times, VPN should work. Easiest way is just to make a new account with a 10 minute mail and register it to NA I assume, that way you don't have to wait for support, then connect VPN and log in to the account and redeem the code on your whatever region account.

Nah man, you make a throwaway account, once you redeem the Agentorigins code it displayed and emails you the code for the outfits which you then redeem on your UPlay account with the game, on PC you can redeem it straight away on the Uplay client. On console you have to wait for the game to go live.
Just as Techniqe said matey its dead easy, In Germany here and with a VPN signed up with a throwaway account (then a second time since a friend couldn't get it to work in Belgium for some reason) took less than 10 minutes in all.
