Man, I'd to see random 'dungeons' or same mission with random objectives (like Resistance 2).

Can't wait to see their approach to end game content, I'm sure I won't be dissapointed.

I also really liked the way the old map was shown as well:

The old style map was in the alpha, and it was waaaaaay cool. I'm not sure why they switched to the new version.

They took the alpha version's "full screen" map and made it the default.

I just realized Ubi is releasing Farcry Primal and this 2 weeks apart, that is odd. I mean they are completely different games but the "market" is the same for each one. For example, if the division wasn't coming out for a few more months I would probably buy Far Cry to pass the time before the next big release.

The original map looked really cool, but it wouldn't be practical in confined spaces at all.

How so?

It was a live UI element that interacted with the environment around you. If you needed to see away from the character it was scrollable as well. As a last resort the current map version was always available as well.

Disagree with the bolded. They are completely different subsets of the market.

First thing that comes to mind whenever I think of a modern AAA published Ubisoft game is those glitched faces from Unity.

This is the first time I will be buying a Ubisoft game on release and my 5th Ubisoft game in general at least for the past 7 years.

So they better not drop the ball in regards to the season pass content and make me regret buying the Gold Edition (even if I would be partially a fault too for being naively trusting).

This will be my first Ubisoft game period. Reason is I simply don't trust them and some other of their practices amongst some of the things the publicly said.

What is the consensus of this game? Good bad repetitive?

I've said before that I think it's a lot more fun to play than to watch. I had fun with simple things like perfecting the timing of the M1A rifle to land consecutive headshots as quickly as possible. Granted this was on PC so aiming is inherently easier.

Plus things like (boss related spoiler)
taking out the boss, Hutch, before he jumps off the balcony. This causes two more elites to spawn which makes the fight feel like it has a kind of built-in challenge besides just looking the boss.
I REALLY hope there's a lot more stuff like that!

If there was an option to switch between, I wonder why they got rid. Unless they just had one for the beta.

I hope that map comes back :(

Because it would show far less of the map then when in an open area. The current map shows you far more in less time, thus it's more practical. I did like it's aesthetic and all, and wouldn't mind the option but I can see why they chose not to include it.

The old map was actually way quicker to check than what we have now. The new map has a slight black load time, whereas the old one covered that up with a rolling display. So it was very fast to check your surroundings.

So I disagree.

Me too. An option to choose the default would be fantastic.

It's a Tom Clancy game, so no zombies, no monsters, no aliens, no interdimensional demons.

The point is that the first symptoms made it seem like regular flu, but it turned out to be an extremely contageous and agressive smallpox-like virus. By the time they realised what was going on, it was already too late.

People should stop referencing data that makes me feel uncomfortable because games get ported to platforms I don't like

I still think that they just slapped on that brand on the game simply because they were too afraid to treat this as a new IP.

In fact one of the complaints by a few individuals that didn't like the game was that it didn't play like a Tom Clancy game with the way the guns controlled and the bullet sponging.

I had forgotten this was even a Tom Clancy game until January when we were getting ready for the Beta and I still don't treat it as one.

Yeah that's why I'll hold my breath but God damn what would I give for a realistic zombie survival game, no balls to the walls action that is modern resident evil

Third Person Cover Shooter with modern runner zombies? Yeaaah... no thanks, I'm good. I hope they have guts to make some more... exotic locations to explore, e.g. US Navy ships just outside of Manhattan etc, but I so hope they don't do some zombie / infected stuff.
