That's a 120gb install plus most people are stuck at work. Wonder how high it goes tonight— 100K?
Easily. People will likely be taking time off to play this as well. Weekend numbers will be immense, unless there are major issues with the game.

Oblivion will do well on Steam, it's a SP Elder Scroll after all and although it's a remaster it's still the newest since Skyrim, and each one is a sale, good stuff.

In general I think they are still, but Oblivion will likely be the exception due to the nostalgia and brand recognition.

TBH, this is a 'shadow drop' in the loosest of sense. All major gaming websites and forums have been talking / reporting this for a good while now.

And you guys said shadow drops are bad...
This wasn't really a shadow drop though, was it? The leaks made people wait for days, then they had an official teaser and countdown timer, people were counting the hours, hyped through roof.

But I don't care I'm just going to enjoy all of this and remember this feeling, saw the video and my face hurts from all the smiling, I'm happy even when just waiting for a download progress bar! 😃🥹

Am thinking they are testing waters for shadow dropping TES 6.

Best way to launch that would be shadow drop.

Starfield should've been same way, instead of the presentation they did.

Wasn't going to play this but, was hit hard in trailer with beginning of the game somehow. May download it after all.

True but it was supposed to be like Hi-Fi Rush. Western devs can't keep their mouths shut.

Shadow dropping bypasses any fears around review scores. A game like Oblivion obviously doesn't need the publicity of review scores, so a shadow drop makes way more sense. If the remaster is buggy, you avoid anyone knowing until it is too late.

This makes no sense. I thought that most people would be playing on Gamepass, and on Steam we'd see a very successful max CCU of maybe a coupe thousand.

Oblivion was huge it's gonna do gangbusters everywhere.

It will be number one on ps5 for a while too I bet.

A great game get what appears to be a very good visual upgrade with QOL improvements while still respecting the original material and is selling like crazy and that makes no sense? I have Gamepass and i bought the game. I am telling the studio that i support the care and respect that went into this. Also because the MS store on PC is absolute shit.
