The Elder Scrolls Online Tamriel Unlimited - |OT| - Console edition

I'm a stealthy wood elf, not having much fun. haven't gotten a bow yet. should I save myself some time and switch to altmer mage? or are the bow mechanics up to Skyrim's par and worth waiting for

I'd like to know this as well. How are the bow mechanics?

Bow is kind of weak. Not as satisfying or as powerful as in Skyrim.

I use it as the second bar on my DK because its useful at times and has a great mobility passive, but I wouldn't want to play a character that's primarily an archer.

Just a few hundred? I can't look right now, but I thought horse mounts were like 900 crowns.

The other stuff is being able to select the Imperial race and being able to convert and make gear in the Imperial motif.

Conversion is actually pretty neat when you find a nice piece of gear that looks terrible, and the Imperial race is really good if you're going to play a build it's suited to.
I'm gonna check in a minute, but I could've sworn the cheapest one was like 1400 crowns or something.

Weirdest question I might ever ask about a game but here goes...

Where's a good place for me to find sacks of flour in the Ebonheart area?

Probably any towns with Inns and bars, just look for the mug on your map. They should have bags of flour laying around, but otherwise I would say it's pretty random, lol.

Earlier today some crazy shit happened on Cyrodiil, we were defending a recently conquered keep, and we got attacked by both EP and AD from opposite sides of the keep. We managed to push back both, sometimes PVP can get really get crazy.

What is the first thing I should do when I go into cyrodil, I need like a PvP p&p so I know what I'm supposed to do as soon as I get in how to get to the action, ect ect

you could try getting to areas or keeps where battles have recently taken place, usually you get an invitation to join a group almost right away. Join the group and stick with them, groups coordinate attacks on resources and keeps and prevents ganking, no one is going to attack a group of 20 players galloping towards a keep. I've joined groups of 20 or something players with relative ease.

there's PVE content in Cyrodiil, there are skyshards, delves, dungeons, dolmens, quests etc... It's basically zone like Glenumbra or Stonefalls just with PVP enabled in it.

or we could coordinate a gaf group... :)

All the bars and kitchens I have run into magically are cooking without flour (I guess they feed everyone with tomato soup given the amount of tomatoes I've accumulated).

I never thought in a fantasy game would collecting flour be the hardest task for me lol

I need some advise please. I started playing this recently and feel a little overwhelmed. My character is a Redguard DK and I decided to play as a Stamina build but after looking at the skills I noticed that there are so many that use Magika. Will my build be viable if I decide to only go Stamina? I feel like I would miss something.

If you find yourself not liking your build you can early on pay to respec your stats/skill points very cheaply.

You'll be fine. A few of the DK abilities have stamina morphs and you'll be getting a lot of use out of your weapon abilities as well.

I don't know too much about stamina DK's though. I play a magicka DK myself.

Yeah I wouldn't mind getting a dedicated group of us to experience that this weekend

Stamina DKs are awesome either as DPS or tank. I'm an Imperial DK at VR6 and have never put a point in either health or magicka. If I wasn't an Imperial, I would've been a Redguard.

As PepperedHam mentioned, a lot of your skills have stamina morphs. Also, just because you're stamina-based doesn't mean you lack magicka. You get more every level.

Some of my most important skills cost magicka. I can't spam them, but I don't need to.

Hi, I'm nortonff. I spend my life going into threads to say that I don't care about the topic of the thread. It's a really good use of my time.
You guys recommend this game for a casual player ? I like mmo's but I don't want one that requires too many hours a day to be worth.
Is there to many fetch quests and/or grinding ?

Given the lack of an auction house (which to me seems crazy and actively spoils / devalues my experience in the game) how do you make money? I'm only level 11 or so but am nowhere near being able to afford my first mount.

Yea, there's really not hurry to end game honestly, unless you're super hard core min/maxer which doesn't seem like you are.

Once you hit level 10 you can literally spend the rest of your time in the PvP zone if you want.

It's not like WoW where you race to end game for raids or instanced PvP, it's more stroll your way through the world and level up until you hit 50. There are veteran levels which are the levels after you hit 50 which are a big grind, but they're reducing the amount of time it takes to get them which is good. ZOS is also planing to remove them eventually, but who knows when, lol

Kinda? There delivered in a way that make them feel less boring because of the story behind them, there are all of those you mentions but they're in away which doesn't feel like a huge grind if that makes sense?

I'm very much a casual player and i've found this very easy to get along with and i've not really done any grinding at all, i've been questing away and some of them have been pretty interesting there hasn't really been a kill 10 of this quest and if there is it's wrapped up in a storyline like solving an issue in say a town or farm etc.

I've got to level 32 so far playing that way, last night for instance I popped my head into a new solo dungeon and a player asked to group so we ran through it which was fun then went our separate ways, I went off exploring and helped out with one of the Dark Anchors in the area and carried on opening up fast travel shrines and finding chests and ores, so yeah I would say give it a go.

Guess I'll give it a chance. Really sounds like Skyrim with other players.
Thanks a lot !

Sure. My personal preference is two-handed weapons. Swords (+dam) and maces/mauls (ignore armor) are great, axes (bleed effect) not so much.

I use bow on my second bar but dual wield or one hand and shield would work here as well. Use medium armor instead of heavy because it increases damage.

Even if you plan to play a tank, build for damage while leveling. Leveling as a tank is a lot like chopping down a tree with a rubber mallet.

As you're leveling, make sure you have Ardent Flame, Draconic Power and Earthen Heart represented on your skill bars. Weapon and armor skills will come easier.

My 2H bar: Wrecking Blow/Unstable Flame/Critical Rush/Executioner/Rally/Ferocious Leap

While leveling, you can use your second bar for quest turn-ins. Just stack it with the DK skills you need to level. Unstable Flame is awesome DoT. Standard of Might is a good alternative to Leap when getting comfortable with DK mechanics.

I just started on the ps4 version with a friend. Both of us are around level 5 in the same starting area. We want to do some duoing this weekend. What are some good options for us to pursue?

I think every starter zone has a public group dungeon, start with that I guess. The one in Glenumbra is located in a cave near the docks.

Dunmer is the ideal magicka-based DK. It might be the best race/class combo for DPS.

Even if you went the stamina route, you'd probably have to reset your attributes for tanking mode, so I wouldn't go stamina DPS just because you plan to tank as well.

Ok I'll go magicka! Will I be able to tank just the lvling dungeons like that? I have 1 healer friend and 2 dps friends playing. We probably won't all be playing late game anyway. So I'm not concerned with end game tanking.

You might not even need to. Prior to VR, I think most dungeons are doable with 4 DPS or 3 DPS and a healer.

Join a guild that normally buys guild traders. Then you can sell regents, runes, armor, anything really for lots of gold. Hopefully next week we can get a guild trader for gaf guild.

Probably just showing my age but i just can't get used to the voice chat system in place. It's just too immersion breaking. I'll be walking through a city and just hear ass-hats babbling. "Oh look at him he's got the Jester costume...ooo how special. Dur."

Then I try some guild chat and its just chaos. I hear people systems in the background, kids flaying cats and wives talking about their day. Followed by the 'What's everyone doing?" ... "Stuff...."

No I use chat all the time in other games, like Destiny with no problems but in this game it's just not syncing.

I miss my text.

Get Flurry in the DW skill line and then morph it to Rapid Strikes, it wrecks with high critical %. It's my main damage dealer.

Also the last passive is amazing if you are going for high critical %.

Have you tried Flurry and Whirlwind?

Thanks for suggesting Flurry. I just morphed it to Rapid Strikes this morning. It seems like a solid damage ability, and i'm sure it will be much better in morphed form. I can't wait to unlock the last passive in the tree, it seems really good.

Edit:
Where is the info on the gaf guild? Is there any USA aldmeri dominion people?

If you mean PS4, I'm USA and aldmeri. Haven't been able to find a gaf guild though.

I'm in Blackwater Blade, campaigns are basically PVP servers.

Your home campaign is the PVP server you are currently assigned to, so whatever exploits or benefits your alliance achieve in that server affects you.

Group I was in got mowed down by AD, we had 20 something players but they brought in like 50 and the emperor. That was bad lol.
