The Elder Scrolls Online Tamriel Unlimited - |OT| - Console edition

THIS will get me back in the game. It will kind of kill any sense of progression, but at the same time, I feel like there was a big wall in that sense around lvl 15 to begin with. I'm glad that I'll be able to play all the content the game has to offer like I would Skyrim or Oblivion now without any grinding. Very excited for this.

Me too. I'm really excited to be able to play this closer to how I normally play Elder Scrolls titles. Just cruise around and follow whatever trail tickles my fancy!!!

Thinking of picking this up on PC, had it on the PS4 but a few things were frustrating for me on the console.

Is it worth waiting for the Gold Edition coming out? Or is there more than enough in the base game? I'll probably just be getting it from CDKeys or G2A.

If I were you I'd wait for gold.

Now I'm sad that I missed out on that Breton armor. Also, boo at having to have ESO plus to dye costumes. Boo!

Join us next Monday as we celebrate the one year anniversary of our first DLC game pack – Imperial City.

Dark Anchors Aweigh! The struggle against the forces of Coldharbour has caused a “Planemeld Palpitation" that is skewing the odds and outcomes of events in and around the Imperial City! Time folds, reality shivers, and opportunities that have passed are available again. But this warp event won't last, so act now, and grab your chance while you can!

The Imperial City DLC game pack was originally released on August 31, 2015, and we're celebrating next week with a one-time special event. We're kicking off the festivities on Monday, August 29 at 10:00am EDT on all platforms with the following:

We've doubled the drop rate on the following Imperial City items:
The Stonefire Scamp pet
Soul-Shriven Skin
Tel Var Stones
A new Imperial City Collector's Bundle will be added to the store for the duration of the event, and includes:
The Imperial City DLC Pack
The Mind Shriven Horse and the Mind Shriven Skin (both of which have been unavailable in the Crown Store for almost a year)
The Daedrat pet, originally released alongside Imperial City
Five Crown Experience Scrolls
The Imperial City DLC Pack will be on sale in the Crown Store for 50% off

Now is the best time to gather those precious Tel Var Stones, or try to obtain the rarest rewards from Molag Bal! If you're new to Imperial City, or just need a refresher, be sure to check out our guides on Imperial City and Tel Var Stones.

This event will conclude on Tuesday, September 6 at 10:00am EDT, so hop in while you can. See you in Imperial City!

I might pick up the Imperial City DLC for half off during this. Seems like a good time to jump in.

They are starting segregate useful features into Plus and non-Plus and it's turning me off. Crafting bag being ESO Plus exclusive was a crappy move imo.

As a ESO+ subscriber, I 100% agree. I've been an ESO+ since the console launch, and am perfectly happy with the benefits that come with it. However, with the crafting bag I no longer have to train my mounts, or purchase bank or bag upgrades which is a huge advantage over normal accounts when you add up the cost.

The costume dyes I support putting that behind the paywall as it offers zero advantage to normal accounts, and incentives me to keep ESO+.

This is actually the first I heard of a crafting bag. Eh.

I definitely understand you gotta put things behind the paywall to incentivize people paying, but for costumes you'd think they'd want that free to incentivize people paying for costumes. I'm still rocking Mannimarco, but I'd probably be more apt to buy a costume if I wasn't stuck with the default look. ESO+ already gives you so much, it's kind of weird that this small thing would be there when it would be a much better selling point to allow anyone who buys a costume to dye it.

Also, I suck at pvp. That is all.

Argh, tried to get ESO+ for a month to try it out. First it kept saying there was a problem with my address billing information, even though everything was correct. Then I got this message:

The requested URL was rejected. Please consult with your administrator.

What's going on ESO?

So this game is on sale right now and i'm on the fence buying it.
There is a gold edition coming out real soon for 60€, the base game is on sale right now for 20euro.

As far as i know you can buy the DLC's with real money currencies called 'crowns'.
Now, are these DLC's worth it and should i wait for the gold edition or should i go ahead and buy the discounted and buy the dlc's with the crowns? maybe there are some DLC's not worth it and i can save a few bucks?

And how does this game run in general on ps4 and how is the endgame?

a lot of questions i know, all the help would be appreciated!

I'm in the same boat as you. I skipped this game when it first came out but I now fancy giving it a go. The gold edition cost £50 and give all the DLC which bought separately seems to be 11000 crowns. 5500 crowns on the store is £24 so in that scenario the gold edition seems worth it.
However you also seem to get the DLC with ESOplus for as long as you have a subscription active. You can get the base game for like £10 plus a 3 months membership for £30 which gives you all the DLC, 4500 crowns and other benefits for less than the price of gold.
Personally I don't tend to stick to games for very long, even MMOs, so the second option seems better.
Can someone confirm my logic is correct?

in my opinion, DLCs are worth after beating main story and reaching level 50

This was my impression as well. There is a ton of content in the base game so you wont be touching the DLCs for months. Gold edition then becomes an investment in the future for new players.

Hopefully you can add gold edition keys to an existing account and at worst players that just buy the base game before it comes out can then buy gold edition and be out only an extra $15 or whatever.

I started playing again after a long break and they finally removed the VR system but now I feel even more far behind. Before I stopped I think I was VR 10, now I'm up to Champion 130, yet I see people with like Champion level 500+. Wasn't there supposed to be a cap for this?

Cap is currently 531. Will be 561 in October with the update.

Don't feel bad. VR16 = Champion point 160. So you're very close to the PvE limit (140 Cyrodiil and 160 for the DLC areas). Good news is that Champion points are accumulated pretty quickly in the game. May want to hang around alliance members in PvP for a bit, though.

Ah, okay. Still seems weird. If the PvE cap is 160 why the heck do they allow players to reach 531, PvP? Just seems like it's overly complicated for no reason, not sure why they couldn't just stick with a straight forward leveling system.

And just like that crowns are for sale on EU psn -50% for 5500. 17.5 from 34.99€.

So should i buy the discounted dlc pack or eso+ is the question

edit: guess the dlc bcause it's also discounted in the ingame store: 5500 for the first 4. from 9500

Decided to pick to up the gold edition for ps4 today and was greeted by a 36 gig patch. :(

Yeah, this game has very big patches. They're far bigger than the PC version sadly - the last incremental PC patch was something like 0.1gb, but on PS4 it was 16gb.

Also, I managed to get somebody at Zenimax Online to confirm the PS Pro update will indeed be *native* 4K, something which people online say is impossible.

Lmao, this is my only issue with the game. I wanna get back into it but since I never took time to get a 1TB harddrive, this game eats the console away pretty much and makes it hard to manage space.

May get back into regardless though. My only problem is I wonder if I'll drop ESO for Skyrim when it comes out.

GAF guild still exists but it's basically dead. I'm not sure who has ownership of it, but I never see anyone from the roster online in-game.

I decided to check it out today after barely playing it at launch and a bit here and there. To put things into perspective, I was level 7 when i stopped playing. I'm not sure if there were patches that helped or I just wasn't feeling it at the time, but this game is starting to sink it's claws into me. I'm level 9 as of now and keep trying to make my way north so I can explore new zones.

I know it's early on and I'm still in Glenumbra, but my main gripe is that there's not really a sense of danger. Is there any PVP in this game out in the world? It was always annoying getting ganked in WoW, but world PVP really adds another layer to the experience.

PvP is confined to Cyrodiil. Everywhere else is strictly PvE.

Are you on PC or console? If you're on console you may want to just wait a week for the One Tamriel update to hit.

It's pretty clear why they have to go 4k. They can't achieve over 30fps because they are CPU bound. Only way to make use of the GPU power is to up the resolution.

Get back into the game after a few months away, having fun, try to queue for a dungeon as DPS, immediately remember one of my biggest frustrations with it. It basically feels like I'm essentially locked out of group dungeons. =/

I really feel like this game would benefit from adding in class style buffs to groups if you don't have a healer or tank, etc. Like in DCUO, if your PUG ends up having no healer, you get a buff that provides a healing offset, and so-on. ...because as it stands right now, I'm convinced that this is why I can never get in a group via the queue.. because I'm a DPS Nightblade.

Either that or rework the base player classes so that they can each function as a healer, or a tank, or a dps.

I've had this game since launch and barely played it, which is a shame.. Anyone want to causally play with me PS4?

I just no idea what to do really on my own and its not that fun.

I see this thread is pretty dead. How similar is ESO to Skyrim? I'm kind of tempted to get the Gold Edition.

MMOs aren't really super popular on GAF save for WoW and ARR.

If you liked Skyrim you'll probably enjoy this. There are some similarities like the UI, first-person combat, quest system, sneaking and the like but mixed with MMO things like a chat box, group dungeons, PvP.

If you get the Gold Edition you'll certainly have a lot to do. There's hundreds of hours worth of content.
