The Elder Scrolls Online Tamriel Unlimited - |OT| - Console edition

does it really matter where I put my skill points in the first few levels? should I be focusing on one tree? or will I get enough to unlock all the skills for my class eventually?

I think it's suggested you at least put one in each tree, for the main skills anyway. You only earn XP for what you do, rewarding play styles but obviously it could neglect something you haven't even opened up.

I had no interest in Siphoning on my Nightblade, but I unlocked the first ability and it's probably my most used skill! I can at least explore what's available for the class, but ultimately it'll be developed as I play.

I think I've read it's easy and cheap enough to respec and reallocate points, so if you want to min/max later on you can.

thanks for this. I started a sorcerer so I could do the first part of the game again with a buddy and ended up really liking him. However I was kind of meh with my skills because I didn't think I wanted to play him really but now I really do.

Huh... so Guilds are joined by account and not by character. Made a new toon on Daggerfall to play with GAF and was put directly into the guild chat I had on my Dominion character.

Where's the first inventory upgrade available when starting at Ebonheart pact? I've no clue what to keep and what to get rid of so my inventory keeps getting full all the time at lvl8 ;_;

From what I remember from the Beta there was a merchant in Davon's Watch that sold inventory bag space.

This is an issue we're actively looking into. What we know so far is this seems to be impacting those who are adding existing friends from either Xbox Live or PlayStation Network to the in-game friends list. Here are a few additional details that may help:
  • Only friends who have logged into the same ESOTU console server as you will show up on your in-game friends list.
  • The sync between the Xbox Live and PSN friends lists and ESOTU can take several hours to fully populate.
  • On Xbox One, you must be mutual friends with someone, meaning you need to be following them, and they must be following you in order for them to show up on your in-game friends list in ESOTU.

Is "a beginning at bleakrock" bugged? It says to explore the island and has three markers, but there is nothing at said markers...

So i'm in Saintsport and i i'm at on the "like moths to a candle" quest. I reach a point where it says "meet Lerissa" in a house with noone inside of it except some random pirates. Any way to fix this?

Find her monkey in the house and follow it out onto the porch, she sneaks up behind you.

Watching IGN review in progress. I didn't realize that you see other people by their PSN/XBL name, rather than character name... for an MMO, that's an unfortunate choice... Why even name our characters then?

Really? I find it quite easy :p

Whats the best way to get wood for woodworking? Only ever come across one place to mine iron ore in like 6 hours of play

Don't forget to add a skill point into "keen eye" for what you're crafting. It will make the ore, plants whatever glow so you can see them better.

This is my first Elder Scrolls game so just some quick questions. Should I try to focus on a certain type of armor or can I mix and match? Same goes for weapons should I focus on one type or try them as I see them?

There is a skill in blacksmithing/woodworking that highlight nodes for you. There are similar skills in each profession to aid in resource gathering. Then you just have to happen upon them.

Well, I must be an idiot then because I can't get any pins to stay down regardless of how much they shake or rumble the controller.

You have to release the button before they start shaking.

While leveling and questing it's recommended to mix and match armor so you level all armor types simultaneously. Weapons I guess focusing until you get your second weapon slot.

For weapons and skill lines just a note. Say you want to use your bow, but also dual wield, you can put 1 dual wield ability on your bar with bow equipped, you can't use it but as you gain XP it will still level that skill up. Same with your class line of abilities. You can just have it on the bar to level it up.

I find that the game tends to get stuck for a moment quite a lot. Is it because of those many people?

Yes, it's just highly crowded, this tends to only happen in areas with a lot of people.

I was having trouble because of the vibration when lockpicking, so I turned it off and it got easier just watching the pins instead of feeling and watching.

Attention Wood, Blacksmith, Clothier & Enchanter Crafters:

Here is a few tips if you have started or are thinking of crafting.

1. Gather materials whenever and wherever you can. You can commit Skill Points so certain items in the world highlight as you walk around.
2. Invest in Extraction Skill line, so when you deconstruct and refine items you have a chance of receiving rare upgrade items.

The biggest and easiest way to Level up your skill line in any of the above crafting professions is find yourself a "Crafting Buddy". Whenever you create an item, you increase your experience, when you deconstruct an item you make you gain experience. But when you deconstruct an item another player has made, you gain more experience than breaking down your own items.

When I played the PC version, I would make 12 Bows at the highest level I could based on materials, then I would Mail them from within the game to my Crafting buddy, he in turn then would send me 12 Bows that he made and we would then deconstruct and you gain so much more experience when you deconstruct items others have made. It is even easier if the person is next to you and you can just trade back and forth.

If you are serious about crafting in these skill lines, find a crafting buddy and go at it, you will increase your level much faster than deconstructing your own items.

where can i find flax?

If I remember Flax is in the next Zone. I believe Flax is the next level up above Jute, which Jute is starting Zone level material.

If you are in the NA Gaf Guild, I believe I have put some Flax in the Guild Bank that you can take.

Some say you can mix and match, this way you are leveling Light, Medium and Heavy armor. But, if you know you are going to be a tank and you need to absorb damage, I would focus solely on heavy. The more heavy armor pieces you have and use, the faster you increase that skill line.

Each armor type adds certain attributes. If you search back, I had posted a break down by armor type. Let me see if I can find it and will add it to this reply.

Here you go...

There are three types of armor in Elder Scrolls Online, which correspond to certain effects. Light Armor augments magic, Medium Armor raises stamina, and Heavy Armor affects health and defense.

Light Armor has these skills:
◾ Annulment – absorbs damage from spells. This is Light Armor’s active ability.
◾ Evocation – Reduces Magicka cost.
◾ Recovery – Increases Magicka regeneration.
◾ Spell Warding – Increases spell resistance.
◾ Concentration – Spells are unaffected by enemy spell resistance.
◾ Prodigy – Increases critical damage.

Medium Armor has these skills:
◾ Evasion – Increases chances to avoid melee attacks.
◾ Improved Sneak –Reduces range at which you can be detected.
◾ Wind Walker – Increases stamina regeneration.
◾ Athletics – Increases sprint speed.
◾ Dexterity – Increases chances of a critical strike.
◾ Agility – Increases attack speed.

Heavy Armor has these skills:
◾ Immovable – Reduces damage and provides immunity to knockback.
◾ Juggernaut – Increases melee attack power.
◾ Rapid Mending – Increases healing.
◾ Resolve – Reduces damage, increases armor and spell resistance.
◾ Constitution – Increases health regeneration.
◾ Bracing – Reduces cost of blocking.

Is there a Xbox One GAF guild I can join?

I made a magicka Breton character in Daggerfall, but I'm thinking about going for a new character with more of a melee build.

Just just hold down each pin until you see it start to shake and then release. I mean as soon as it starts to shake.
