How do I learn crafting styles? only thing stopping me making stuff

You can craft on your race's style. To learn other styles you have to find lore books in the world containing this knowledge. I found only one so far (Bosmer) and it was inside a small backpack on the floor of a cave. REALLY hard to miss. I don't know if there are plenty of those out there, but I'm feeling really lucky right now.

Voice channel keeps prompting in the right hand corner, don't know why

I got invited to guild last night on ps4 then had to log off. I logged in today and now the voice channel thing is driving me nuts. The stupid sound it makes is killing me.

When I go to social - voice chat it has the leave channel greyed out with a 5 sec countdown. I've timed it perfectly but it just keeps doing it over and over. Is there a way to turn off voice chat in area if you're in a guild?

Think I fixed it. Had to spam leave channel on guild too. How annoying.

What if I was in a party with friends, I assume voice chat would work for that right? I assume their is a way to pick a home server and have them all join the same one so we can easily play together? Is there a monthly fee to play this?

Sorry for all the questions, I am at work and can't google this stuff... :(

You can group up if you all pick the same faction, and voice chat works fine in groups. There are only two servers for each platform, North America and Europe. Once you purchase the game, you don't have to pay for anything else. There is a cosmetic shop that has costumes, mounts, and convenience items.

There is also an optional subscription for $15 a month that gives you $15 in store credit each month plus a 10% boost to all experience types.

What are some of the things they have improved from the PC launch? I played up to level 20 when it was released on PC, and I'm not really seeing much that's changed so far up to level 8.

They made a bunch of changes to the way the end game operates from my understanding.

How is everyone enjoying the game so far?
Is this basically Skyrim but online with other people?
Do you get to buy/ride a horse?
How about making a home?
Is it still mostly fetch quests in caves?
Is the leveling system the same?

No, it's an MMO with Elder Scrolls lore and style. It's very console/controller friendly. It's not Elder Scrolls 6 but you still may love it. Just know what you are getting before you go in.

Is anyone having luck getting in? It's alternating between three numbers, all in the thousands. I'm not sure if I should back out and try again or just wait.

Edit: NA XB1, by the way.

Edit 2: I backed out and got in right away.

Edit 3: Kicked...

Like always, I wish the artstyle of Bethesda's games had a bit more color diversity. You can still achieve the look you are going for with more than a handful of colors. Their games are always a combination of two extremes: fugly and beautiful.

Not seeing peoples names above their heads is really jarring for me, there is something weird about not being able to instantly identify people from NPC's.

Dungeon finder found a group. How do other to the dungeon?

To Other to the dungeon, you pretty much have to do this:

Stole some new armour in the starting area lol. Take it everyone does this? Not had much time to play so can't really give impressions yet.

I turned on health bars. From what I remember (not playing at the moment) other players have blue bars, NPCs have green bars, and there are also some characters with yellow health bars. I think those are NPCs also, I just don't remember the difference.

It's not a perfect solution and it's a little annoying to see a thin bar floating above everyone's head all the time, but it has definitely helped me distinguish NPCs from other players.

Lashley

Why does he wear the mask!?
Wish they'd improve grouping for playing with friends. Level 8 and me and my friend haven't been able to do a quest together yet.

Also, is there an auction house? Guessing no?

Damn, I would have the item needed for all the unlearned styles but not my own.

217,000 in queue? My friends game crashed and that's what it says now.

Mine has spitting out all kinds of numbers. Now it's sitting at 1st with a 1 second wait, which I've seen before. Not sure if I should just snap it and watch tv while I wait, quit the app and try again or just try again, or play Witcher 3. I'm struggling here

Good idea, I'll try that.

It's just a bit annoying having to hover a cursor on someone to see who they are

Finally got to play this morning after work. Got to lvl 6. Have a few questions.

Can skill points be reset any kind of way think I messed up with some skills I dont want?

Also how do I pull up the dungeon finder to find group for dungeon?

Also should I put those treasure maps in my bank and do 1 at a time? And how is the loot from them?

whoa whoa... no chat/combat log? damage numbers? am i wrong or is there an option for these things? i really hope there is... those are key parts for a game feeling like an MMO to me, and voice chat is no substitute for a chat log

Nope there isn't. In beta for PC we had those along with nameplates, etc. but Elder Scrolls fan's whined about them breaking the immersion so they removed them.

so is this game better than final fantasy 14? I think about getting a console mmo but can't really decide between the two.

I'm a big MMO player. I really enjoyed FF 14 but this game is fun as well. Better? Well thats a matter of opinion. Havnt put enough time in to say it's better than FF 14 but its a different animal that's for sure. It looks like the zones have alot more variety than FF 14. FF 14 had lots of zones but was really just 3 zones broken into several variations of each other. ESO seems to have more zone varety IMO but like I said havn't gotten to far into it yet

1) Its more generic than Skyrim because its an MMO, but its still a huge fantasy world with all of the elder scrolls lore. There's a lot of game here.
2) Yep, personal horses are in the game as well as other mounts.
3) No homes yet but its something they are looking into (its a widely requested feature)
4) Its some pretty decent questing, a lot of voiceovers and all that. Its pretty good for an MMO IMO.
5) Leveling is similar but not completely the same. You can level your skills by using items but you also choose to increase tons of different talents and when you hit end game you get champion perks to distribute into the sky like Skyrim, choosing different buffs and whatnot.

Its a deep game and for the price (since its now B2P) its well worth it. Even if you don't stick with it, you can probably regain half by trading it in or re-selling it and that's very rare for an MMO.

Ehh, they are both two completely different games except for the fact that they share the same genre. FF14 has way smaller zones, has almost zero customization when it comes to skills, while ESO pretty much is the exact opposite as you can customize your skills any which way you want. FF14 has more content, and keeps adding at an alarming rate, while ESO is going to have paid DLC. FF14 has much slower combat with a 2 second global cooldown, while ESO is pretty much in your face use your skills at will until you drain resorces. ESO has no subscription while FF14 has one, etc. Both have their ups and downs but I wouldn't say one is better than the other, just different.

bummer.. hopefully they at least add a chat option for console users... its too useful to not have it at least as an option

name plates were another issue bugging me, but i realized I'd rather not have them when other players show up as their account names and not their character names... which is an even bigger issue... what was the point of naming my character if i'm my PSN account to everyone else? i take it theres no way to change that either? these seem like glaring issues in the face of an otherwise enjoyable game

So the banished cells dungeon is in auridon. That's another faction's zone.

Can we even get there without completing Daggerfall?

If not, why can you queue?
