I'd say no, having had it since day one on PC. The only really significant boon is the free horse, but you could buy that with fewer crowns than Imperial upgrade costs.

Well thats because most PC players who came to console were in AD. It seemed like majority of the veteran rank guys are in AD on console, and that makes a HUGE difference in PVP.

Logged in this morning and there were way less people in daggerfall so pretty much zero stutter so I am happy to see that issue is just lag related.

I have managed to avoid the connection issues others have had so hopefully that gets ironed out. I don't think they expected this kind of volume of players. It seems pretty typical of a mmo launch. FFXIV arr had it's share of launch issues.

Really enjoying how the game plays with a controller.

I'm going to swap my PS4 HDD out for a spare SSD and re-download while I'm at work to see how it affects ESO. My guess is it'll mostly only improve texture streaming times, but I'm hoping it might reduce the severity of stuttering in crowded areas.

Ive never had so many questions in my head while playing an MMO, and since theres no text chat...

Im on Ebonheart. How I get to the other dungeons than the Grotto whatever? Im too scared to even queue up if I dont find a way to enter.

I chose.. tailoring. However I keep finding tons of alchemy materials but hardly any tailoring mats. Is it a bad profession if Im not planning to trade/buy the materials?

Im going for healer templar but the resto staff skills dont interest me. Is it ok to choose like 1h + shield for additional defence or are resto staves the only weapons with magicka boosts and should I use it anyway?


I also did my first group dungeon and boy what a mess. I dont even know who the tank was. I hope it gets better cause I love grinding the shit out of group content and Im focused on healing.

It doesn't. Still has that nasty stutter in cities.

You can make a templar with whatever weapon focus you like. All healing spells are Magicka-based as far as I know, though.

You could just use the healing skills inherent to Templar and then build him to use a bow, or a sword/shield, or anything else. Or you could specialize in healing by going templar *and* using a restoration staff.

Once you hit level 15, you can swap weapons (and skill bars) giving you even more choice.

Yup. Made some progress now though. Finally got a reply and they checked the tracking number that they didn't bother giving to me. It's been delivered to one of the nieghbours, just gotta figure out which one or hope GAME comes through with the address.

Meanwhile, my brothers copy is at the depot, being held for collection despite the fact that they never bothered trying to deliver it. Hope they change their courier after this, DPD is suckage.

Can this game be played in shorter sessions? Normally I don't have the time to play for more then maybe two hours.
I remember my glorious days as a student playing WOW for many many hours, where you needed a lot of time to complete some of the dungeons.

They will be up and down. Up early in the morning, but possibly down during prime time (after work hours in PST I assume).

I doubt they'll be able to roll out patches to stabilize things this early... maybe in a couple more days. Right now they are likely just pulling down the login server when the play server gets overwhelmed to stop additional players from getting in.

I haven't noticed yet, but how do you know when a quest is too high (or too low) level for you? Will they not yet appear for you in the world perhaps?

I imagine you can't just plow through the Fighting Guild's quest line from the beginning, for example...

Edit: to put things into perspective: I plan on, for now, pretty casual play with my buddies. I don't want to be 100% healer. I want to do some damage. I mainly want decent heals to mitigate frustration playing with my casual buddies.

I'm not a huge fan of being a 100% caster. I'd prefer bow or melee.

I've noticed that it's really tempting to go back to PC for the framerate, but when playing on PC all I want to do is to ge tback on the couch and then sink another 5 hours into te game.

If I remember correctly there is a quest that takes you to the boat, there is a woman leaning against a pole right when you exit the house for the first time in Daggerfall.

either way, the boat is left out of daggerfall and down the stairs if you are coming from the starter house.

best way for me to explain it, hope that helps.

Only reason I bother with them is because they always get the Special Editions exclusive to them. Only reason.

After the MGSV special edition, they can go to hell. Couldn't find the person they handed it over to, so now the courier is going to grab it back and redeliver it tomorrow... Ugh.

XB1 party chat codec is soooo superior to any other console voice chat at this point. Quality difference is absurd.

I'm p.sure it's lag. DCUO and WOW have had the same effect in largely populated areas.

It is definitely just lag. The game runs great until you are around a bunch of other players. I see it mainly in a town.
