The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim |OT2| Team Edward's Revenge

I agree. I like how Kingdoms of Amalur saves. You go in the menu and make a save like you normally would, but you don't have to sit and wait for it to save. You can exit the menu and continue adventuring while it saves. Not sure why Skyrim doesn't do this. It does while autosaving, so why not manually?

On that note, I haven't played this since before patch 1.4. I just started up again a few days ago when 1.5 was released, and (maybe it's just because I haven't played in so long) the game seems to take way longer to load when moving to and from buildings (and caves, mines, etc). Also, it seems to take an excessively long time to enter the save menu, and save. I really don't recall it taking this long to save the game, as I used to save before entering any dungeon, and after exiting.

What kind of build are you going for with this one?

I'm largely happy with what I did with my first character, though I wasted some points with Destruction Magic. Should have went Conjuration.
I really wish we had to option to respec.

I love the
Nightingale
Armor, it looks so badass.

I like the look of your character. What items are you wearing?
Nightingale (Thieve's Guild)
armor with the Krosis mask from one of the
dragon priests

I'm going heavy armor (I wear full orcish armor when I am not stealing everything in sight and specifically avoid combat when I am wearing sneaking gear), one-handed (mace), blacksmithing, and alchemy. I will probably need to start working on enchanting soon.

I'm sneaking, lockpicking, and pickpocketing a TON but have no perks spent in those trees

I went Conjuration with my last character and didn't really enjoy it. To be honest, Morrowind is the only Elder Scrolls game (I have not really played Arena) were I truly enjoyed playing as a magic user. I tend to gravitate toward the thief/bruiser combo and find it pretty enjoyable.

no armor is more badass than the ebony mail.

I am afraid your opinion is most incorrect, sir!

is much more badass than

Though I must say the female version of the Ebony is very nice.

I still prefer unique armor, though. I wish Skyrim had more. Surely we'll get some with the DLC, whenever it may come.

I enjoyed Conjuration the most due to summoning 2 Dremora Lords, and having my Follower use the
Sanguine Rose
to summon a third Dremora, and watch them fuck shit up.

Aside from that, I prefer using my bow the most, and getting stealth kills. Then running in and cleaning up what's left. Or send my Dremora Lords to do it (with my second character). My first character has to do it himself.

blue it should be the same start goes to the quests.. then I just click left trigger that goes one page to the left and then I just press A twice. Shame if it isn't I have over 100 mods but no hotkey for my 360 pad or anything.

They'd need to fix the save system before doing that. Every time I've had a glitch or funny behavior on the 360 I have gone to my saves, deleted enough that I only have 10-15 left, and the game has started to behave normally again. Happens every time with Bethesda games.

lol I do that on PC too. I usually delte all but 5 or soo.

I can't recall what my last character was wearing, but it was a mix of Ebony and Daedric that looked really badass. It might have been Daedric armor with an Ebony helm. They fit together really well.

So how are saves managed with multiple characters? Can switch between characters in the load screen, like Mass Effect?

CorrisD

badchoiceboobies
That sucks a lot.

Yes it does, boggles my mind why they haven't moved to something like Mass Effect does with splitting characters saves apart from each other, it is a pain in the ass going through so many saves to find the right one.

I've never heard of that happening before. The only fix I can think of is deleting the game install data *and* the update, then reinstalling both. Then load you game and make a brand new save, and try restarting the system. If that doesn't work, try moving your save to a USB drive, and deleting everything related to Skyrim from your PS3, reinstall and start a new character. Save when you gain control, and restart the system and see if that causes the problem. If not, try bringing your save back, and see what happens.

It just occured to me this game has had no DLC at all. Quite strange, really.

Big expansion coming?

Yeah, before the game was released, they said their DLC would feel like expansion packs.

Also, on their Blog they say they have some exciting news in the coming weeks and months. Probably DLC announcement.

Ghkgfhifghgz! Nope still not fixed! No matter what I do it keeps reverting back to 1.4! Wtf is this bullshit!

I'm sorry to hear that. I have no clue as to what is causing this. I did a Google search, and found no one with the same issue.

Scroll through your game data utility, and see if there are perhaps two Skyrim updates. Maybe when 1.5 installed, it didn't install over the previous patch, and created two update files.

Try contacting Bethesda's shitty support, and see if they have had any cases similar to yours, and if there's a fix. If not, the only other option is to reformat your PS3.

Kinect Support Coming to Skyrim

Fully knowing that you can’t get enough of your favorite dragon shouts, we’re pleased to announce that Kinect for Xbox 360 support is coming to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Available for free as a title update slated for release this month, Skyrim Kinect for Xbox 360 Support will feature more than 200 Voice Commands… including the game’s dragon shouts.

In addition to Dragon Shouts, the Kinect for Xbox 360 integration offers voice commands throughout the game including Hotkey Equipping, Follower Commands, and all Menus (Items, Magic, Map, Barter, Container, Favorites, and Skills). With Voice Commands, quickly create and load saves during gameplay and access menus and inventories. Skyrim’s Kinect for Xbox 360 Support also adds new functionality including special map functions, additional hotkey options, and the ability to sort inventory items by name, weight, and value.

To get an early look at Kinect for Xbox 360 support, watch the video above featuring programmer Ricardo Gonzalez, who put together the preliminary concept for Kinect for Xbox 360 Support during the Skyrim Game Jam.

A full list of Voice Commands will be revealed in the coming weeks, and we’ve got more Skyrim news coming. Bethesda Game Studios has been hard at work on creating the first set of game add-ons that will be exclusive to the Xbox 360. This additional content will add new quests, locations, features, and much more to the world of Skyrim. Stay tuned for more details.

Video here in the link.

I'll never touch it, but at least they're hinting at the real DLC now.

You forgot to bold the best part. Almost worth getting a Kinect. Almost.

Thanks for trying to help me bro. Ill try formating my ps3.

If formatting your hard drive doesn't work, toss your HDD and get a new one. Data changes not saving can be the result of a dying hard drive with bad blocks or other errors which is a natural occurrence over time.

I'd throw an SSD in my PS3 if I was going to swap it out - can give you a somewhat decent boost in load times too depending on the game, so would be a worthwhile upgrade.

My gaming setup is in the den outside the kids' rooms, so I have to play quietly; in order to speak loudly enough for the Kinect to register me, I have to wake the kids. Besides, I hate the Kinect enough that I cringe a bit at the very idea of shouting at my Xbox to do something that takes 2 seconds with a controller.

Voice commands for allies should be also allowed on the PC version. It's a very fiting feature that will add to the inmersion, the rest don't interest me really.

I would not yell at my TV while playing Skyrim, but it irks me a little that they're adding voice support exclusively to the 360 version. As if PC and PS3 don't have the Power of Kinect® and can't accomplish the same thing with essentially the same code.

The additional hotkey thing looks very appealing. I hope they add that to all versions (and with the option to somehow do it without a voice command too).

After watching that video, this actually looks really useful.

Though, I agree, the shout redundancy needs to either be omitted or be an option.

The latest patch made Dragons crash land into everything. It's really bizarre. There's now also these weird sort of "lines" or "creases" on the surface of water. Kinda sucks, though the dragons crash landing has had its hilarious moments, so at least the patch made the game funny again.

80 Hours put into the game, and for the first time today, some idiot dragon actually attacked Whiterun.

Part of what made the fight hectic was the mod I'm using that (as you can probably tell) adds a ton of foliage to Whiterun to make it look less dead. Half the time I couldn't see where the fuck the dragon was because of all the trees. Was a pretty short encounter thanks to all the guards he managed to attract, but damn cool. The closest thing I've had to this was a dragon attack Riverwood within my first hour playing Skyrim back in November.

The voice hotkey? In PC you can alter the controls so the Dpad can hold up to eight short cuts, coupled with the favorites, the menu navigation has been reduced up to 60%, for what i consider.

Voice commands for the characters make sense. It's a natural way to interact with them and since the interaction is simple (limited to some commands) it can work really well while saving some buttons. It's not like one will be yelling all the time, implementation for shouts make less sense since it needs to be more responsive, there's a need to learn lot of commands and one looks like an idiot shouting in a made up language.

The option for voice commands should be there for every platform.

Oh man, Feels good that I still have new content to find in towns I rarely visited with previous characters. My 3rd character is my warrior and I'm finally digging into Solitude. I love this game.

Anyone familiar with Papyrus? I didn't realize CK actually let you code. That seems to open up the possibilities even more.

Another tale to add to the collection of lols:

I was out west of Whiterun and saw a dragon attacking the Western Watchtower, and as I was positioning myself I saw a giant chasing someone in the distance. I thought it was one of the tower guards who shot the wrong target, but as the giant's club smacked the poor sod and he flew into space, I saw the tail and robes of a khajiit. M'aaaiiiiqqq!

I waited for him to fall back down but he never appeared. After the fight was over I saw him standing around as he does some ways out. He made it. :D

Just faced my first Draugh Deathlord.... he one shotted me with his arrows. Fuck :p. Managed to beat the mofo! HAHA!

Guilty White Male Mods Gave Me This Tag
I'm pretty early in the game and talked to Greybeard. After that, I bought a house in Whiterun and upgraded as much as I could. I ran out of money so I went on doing other stuff around the world to earn some money. I came back and talked to the steward to try to continue upgrading my house, however, that option no longer shows up. Also, the Jarl also sounded rather cold to me as well. I mean, I remember he sounded warmer to me after I helped slaughter a dragon earlier for his people.

Do you guys have any idea what's going on here ? Thanks :)

I decided to start another run if only to finally finish the main quest. I still haven't made it past the quest right after first meeting the greybeards, but now that I experienced most of the rest of the game and it bores me so I won't do it again I should be able to knock it out now.

OK GAF please help.

I'm doing the Companions quest line.

I'm at the part where
you can choose to join the Circle by becoming a werewolf
. I've heard there are many bugs associated with that
even if you eventually get rid of lycanthropy such as not getting rested bonuses, NPCs still remarking as if you're a werewolf, the stats screen still showing that you're accumulating days as a werewolf etc

So my questions are

1. Have those bugs been fixed? If not are they easy enough or possible to fix on your own? (PC version)

2. Is it worth holding out on that quest in hopes a patch will be issued soon?

3. Am I missing out on anything major by simply not doing it? Because I really have no desire to do that or
become a vampire
either.

You have to go through that to be able to get further in the quest line it's lame but it's like that.
The quest line is not stellar but can be quite fun, so it's up to you to see.

But once you are part of the circle you don't have to use it, and you'll only get some guard comments, that's as far as the eventual drawbacks go, so even if it ends up bugged it's nothing major.

Bethesda just posted this on their Facebook page and said "Tomorrow" with it:

The guy looks Nord-ish, possibly a Skyrim DLC expansion announcement? Some people in the comments section have said the guy on the right is probably a Thalmar because he has a collar and (I guess?) pointy ears.

Could be. Definitely interested if that's the case. I wanna kick some Thalmor ass.
