Is there a way to turn up grass visibility over 7? Will it impact performance greatly?

[Grass]
b30GrassVS=1
fGrassStartFadeDistance=10000.0000
fGrassMaxStartFadeDistance=10000.0000
fGrassMinStartFadeDistance=5000.0000
Sample rates != bit rates. Changing it from 48kHz to 96kHz is going to have pretty much zero impact on audio quality. The shitty-quality music you're hearing is Bethesda compressing the tracks into oblivion. We'll have to wait until the OST releases for someone to mod higher-bitrate music into the game.K.Jack said:I played a few hours last night, post patch, after installing 11.11a update.
Zero crashes, other than one from testing whether the issue with higher bitrate audio was fixed.
Nope, insta-crash at 96000Hz audio.
I'll need to do more testing with the driver, before rendering an opinion.
Exactly. There is no solution to this issue. You have to choose between a decent draw distance for shadows with horrible banding, or no horrible banding with no distance shdows at all.That didn't fix the shadow issue for me, just made the blocks larger.
yup. Its annoying as hell because Nvidia thought they'd "play it safe" and send 16-235 video levels to HDTV's as they'd likely get "the fewest support request" that way. Many cheaper HDTV's have no support for displaying/processing anything but TV levels (16-235) and thus when they are sent PC levels they look overly dark and contrasty. Its a slap in the face to the HTPC community who cares about keeping everything reference and beautiful.
And after doing the edid driver mod the TV will read as a DVI-PC device instead of an HDMI-HDTV. Basically windows will now see your screen as a true PC monitor and not levels limited HDTV screen. You'll also know by using calibration test images and if you are very familiar with your screen, you should be able to tell when its not displaying a true black or properly hitting colors.
I don't see how it can be patched, unless they rework their entire shadow system. It's not a bug, it's just how these shadows look when stretched across a large surface that is almost parallel with the light source.The shadow banding only seems to happen on vertical walls and objects as far as I have seen, so I think it's an engine issue that would need to be patched.
*salivates*If there was a discussion about this, I most likely missed it, so please excuse me for asking this again.
Someone mentioned the Morroblivion mod in another thread and it got me thinking. Would it be possible to merge the map of Skyrim and Cydorill? Skyrim and Oblivion are based on the same engine and the countries are connected, so it would make sense.
How (im)possible would a mod like that be?
And I have a:
Phenom X4 (first gen) 2.5Ghz
4GB RAM
4870
and it sets me to high. Something seems wrong here...
Actually the birches in Vurts pack are awesome. (And the other trees are an improvement as well)Doesn't look any better. And these chaps still can't do birch trees.
Ok, can someone tell me why the launcher automatically sets me to "high"?
I have the following specs:
I5-2500k@4ghz
GTX580
8gb RAM
My friend's launcher sets him to ultra and he has:
I7-2600k stock
ATI5770
8gb RAM
You can't tell me my rig isn't worthy of ultra???
Thanks for the grass help guys!
That UI looks great, does it spill into the favorites menu also?
Ahem... anyone?I have yet to patch this game, by keeping Steam in offline mode. But today I wanted to go online with Steam, and so I tried to disable automatic updates for Skyrim before doing so. As I feared, Skyrim is currently set to automatically update, and I cannot click the drop down menu to change it.... it doesn't seem to be greyed out, it's just not clickable. Any ideas?
Ahem... anyone?![]()
Ken put up a new UI mod. I like this solution better than the unintuitive table concepts that have been passed around.

What I really want in the inventory (really in all menus with larger lists) is a filter box. Think about just writing "pot ma" and getting all your magicka potions listed. There's a reason that all applications that handle large data sets have filter boxes these days.
Bethesda could never do something like that because it doesn't fly on consoles or with a controller, but mods have no such restrictions.
Not seeing any difference in that flora pack whatsoever, based on those screenshots. Can someone do a side-by-side ( In decent quality this time ).
Should absolutely be possible. The interface in Skyrim is full flash 8 basically, and Actionscript is more than capable of doing any filtering/sorting/whatever operation you can imagine.Yeah, I was thinking about the same mod. Not sure if it is possible though.
Oh right! I didn't realise I could just replace the exe. ThanksTry very verifying the cache. The game is alright if you patch then just grab your backup exe. It's not so rooted a patch that doing something like that would break things. If I were you I would just let it update and turn off auto updating then replace with the backup and keep LAA rights.
2 shots I took of the other leaf pattern. I got close to show the upped detail/rendering of the petals themselves. The stock leaves are not close to the detail of these and there is no performance hit.http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=141
Have a look at the images of the mod. The Aspen tree textures are the biggest upgrade.
In SkyrimPrefs.ini, mine saysAnyone know where in the ini file I can edit the resolution?
Trying to play in a window but the default resolutions it gives me or either to small or to big.
FUUUUUUUUUUUU
I got many crash to desktops today. I'm running 1.1 exe without LAA. I had CTDs with LAA too.
What gives?
What should i do, GAF?
Sound issues, such as static during NPC dialogue or crashing to the desktop? Set your primary audio device to 24 bit, 44100Hz.
Also try fAudioMasterVolume=4.0000 in SkyrimPrefs

That's pretty nice as a base, but I don't think icons add much - now if you can sort by icons, that's diferrent.
What I like about the other UI mod is it has ALL necessary information on one screen, can be sorted, and seems more an intuitive than a UI that makes you SCROLL the first column up to even access the bottom (from the start), doesn't register clicks, doesn't sort at all, and leaves so much screen space unused.
Is there a guide that explains what each setting in the ini files does?
