The Final Bosman Show

Have enjoyed up until now. Focussing on strawmen in the form of insane "Nintendo goin' third party!" opinions doesn't make for good watching as an entire segment.

Having "the best" Holiday home console line-up is also not very hard when you don't release any games for an ENTIRE HALF OF A GODDAM YEAR.

@the elephant part. How can you not love this guy? I'm not really too sure about the debate going on as to the merits of what he said in the video (apparently some people really disagreed with him) - but I really love this guys joy and enthusiasm.

'Oh, a Nintendo feature on GT's frontpage, that's nice, they don't tend to do much of these, and bossman's lists for Sony and Microsoft reveals were amusing, I'll watch this."

→The video ends. 7 minutes spent on 4 secs of footage of the GC controller at the MS conference. No real opinion on what Nintendo will/may show or how Bossman thinks they should do it.

Color me disappointed.

Are you for real on that first statement?
Also, the E3 video is next week.

Took me far too long to catch onto what he was talking about with the gamecube controller.
I only sort of understood it because he mentioned "sony might be working on one too and nintendo won't ever have one" and reading this thread. Didn't really make the connection, honestly.

-Excellent point about "Nintendo going third party." Absolutely fantastic. Any time someone brings that up I'm gonna point them to this episode.

-Another Knack joke... lol.

-We had a 50 page thread about that gamecube controller?

EDIT: Oh its an analogy for DRM? Hmm have to rewatch that part then.

I realize he's talking about DRM, but I don't really get the analogy...

Anyway, hilarious as usual.
I think he's saying: 1) MS has made their decision regarding used games/DRM and 2) all the internet rage in the world won't change it; 3) Sony is rumored to be doing something similar with used games, and 4) Nintendo didn't go that route so it's a point of differentiation with them.

Only he swapped out the Gamecube Controller with No Buttons for DRM. Not really an analogy, just swapping one subject for another outright.

Pretty funny and on point as usual. Paraphrasing, "We're going to tell our grand kids about this E3!" It's going to be one for the ages.

Yup. But how it related to a buttonless controller is what had me stumped, but eventually (I think) I worked it out.

Fantastic new ep!

OMG the GameCube controller story is completely new to me! holy shit hahahahahahahah
THAT IS CRAZY ! :O

ow and about nintendo, he is spot on this fall nintendo line up is going to be fantastic! :D

I only cottoned on when he linked it to Sony. He really could have done a better job with that, lol

Liked the elephant part the best, agreed that was the highlight, but disliked everything else. Seems like a sweeping trivialization of anti-consumer practices by doing that whole gamecube controller with no buttons skit. Yes, not being able to rent or borrow games, or resell them is the same thing as internet outrage over something that effects no one.

edit: If that was a joke, i definitely did not get it.

Yeah, I was genuinely surprised he didn't connect the dots. I was waiting for him to break form and say, actually guys it wasn't about the Gamecube controller with no buttons. All the hubbub is about used game DRM. But no, he just let it hanging.

I like that he respects his audience enough not to spell it out, even though it might be confusing at first. He figured people would get it without having to, even if it was awkward. Which just made the joke funnier to me. :lol

Seems like he's saying the DRM thing is actually a big deal that will negatively affect gamers... and that Nintendo being DRM free is potentially a big win for them.

I mean, if I'm understanding him correctly. His analogy was too subtle, or even a bit sloppy... whatever. Obviously people didn't really get it.

Which is kind of funny considering today has been a day of god-tier trolling, this kinda fits.

If you rewatch it knowing what he's talking about, you can start to actually make sense of what he's saying.

I have to know if that buttonless Gamecube controller is real now though.

The controller he is talking about in the video is a "stress ball" shaped like a controller. I know because I have the 360 version. That's why there are no buttons. The 360 controller in the video is actually a "stress ball" also. You can tell when it zooms in. They sell/ give these away at the MS campus.

"Elephant, release a pokemon console game!"

"Nope!"

Dead. I think he was enjoying his impression too much. And also color me confused on the DRM analogy.

Holy shit at the end of the video.

There wasn't really a thread on the gamecube controller, right? I'm not going crazy, am I? Guys? Guys how do stop the voices?

This revelation threw me off as well.

*reads rest of thread* *rewatches video*

Now I get it.

Wow there actually is a gamecube controller with no buttons in the xbox anthem video...

:p

LOL that really was in their presentation?

XD

Great episode. Felt rather short this time, but good nonetheless. I was apparently talking about a button-less controller without even realizing!

this guy is awesome

dont go more than 1 episode a week though, dont kill the magic

elephant reference and after the credits part had me laughing out loud
