The Final Bosman Show

God no. I can't stand Huber, what a talentless hack. His personality is completely forced/fake, just isn't funny at all.
Huber is awesome, this post is bad, you should feel bad.

I have to scale every enthusiastic Huber take down about 5 notches to get some feel for how much I'll like a game, but in my mind that's a good thing. He doesn't come across as fake to me at all, just way more excited about [game] than I will ever be. And I love that!

Good to hear there is hope.

Love em to death.

And Huber is awesome. Brandon Jones praised him on the last twitch stream for providing new perspectives/attitudes on game journalism.

i don't really know pateron stuff but it seems to me that works for small group of people. think 8 people can make a living out of it?

Yeah, I don't expect all 8 of them could survive off patreon alone. Largest group I know of that I care about is The Comedy Button podcast which is 5 mostly video game journalists that make $14k a month. They still all hold regular jobs though and Comedy Button might have the most contributors on patreon of any project too I think? I really doubt GT could make enough to support 8 different people for a living in LA or wherever.

I see them splintering off into other sites and maybe Bosman and Huber or something team up for Patreon or something another.

Good Stuff! Bosman has a strong streak going on! <3

But.. what!.. what!.. what!.. what!.. is this alternate-reality parappa-rapper episode stuff? What timeline is that then? Who IS the bosman who did that episode?!? If it is not the episode it was supposed to be then what is it?!? This is all too weird?

!!!! What ?!?!Are we really to believe this obvious cover up? Is this bosman even real bosman anymore?! The quality of the stuff keeps getting better, very suspicious!!?!! WHO IS THE REAL BOSMAN! THE INTERNET PEOPLE ARE ENTITLED TO KNOW THE TRUTH!!

I told you something funny is up! The whole timeline continuum is now screwed and GT is no more!!

also!
Or SuperBosman.

Definetly SUPER.. and hopefully not "U Bosman"

Seriously though, this is a sad ordeal.. I really really really hope that we have not heard the last of Bosman!

I feel like the Final Bosman has the potential to go the Jimquisition route. Kyle is just as creative as Jim with lots of thoughtful opinions.

And a more.... Palatable taste of weird @_@

Kinda Funny is also 5 people (living in LA) - they're currently raising $24k p/m (before fees) through Patreon, and a little bit more through Twitch.

I still doubt it's sustainable for the 8 though, but I imagine a couple at least would prefer the relative security of a known employer.

I think a better example is Kinda Funny. Five or six dudes who get 75k a month across their two Patreons, plus ad rolls and merch. I feel like ex-GT people could make it work, if they play their cards right. They'd have to scale down some, if not in staff, then in content production.

Just to get it right: They live in San Francisco. Their "studio" is Colin's and Greg's shared apartment. They have two patreons which together net them ~ 50k/month (currently inflated due to financing an Animated short series through January). Twitch Subs and Twitch Tips and Youtube Ads + Podcast ads ala Squarespace + Hosting Gigs (GameStop, Just Cause 3, Final Fantasy, Pax/ComicCon-Panels etc.).

GT crew is/was big, but I don't necessarily feel they have the reach of current fans a Greg Miller/Colin has/had. Maybe I'm mistaken, I doubt it. Still having hopes they do something toether, though. They have to. :-/

Is there a full episodes list somewhere? GT site doesn't work and Youtube shows the episodes out of order.

Here's the very first btw.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=83yQrBEYJ2w

Post above me has all with exception of the first few, I know someone has uploaded them. I'll search for them quickly.

Edit: This playlist has the first couple also :)

Edit: Watched the first bunch of episodes, man I've forgotten how odd the series started. I'll be truly missing it! :(

don't know if this what you're looking for but here it is.

Watching both playlists, the first one has episodes 1 through 9 (the PS4 reveal events episodes weren't numbered) however, both are missing the E3 2013 episodes.

Episode 10: It's Almost E3
Episode 11 The Ultimate E3 Adventure
and Episode 12 E3 2013 Takeaways

The mini bosman he did in between 10 and 11 are in both playlists though, from there on it seems like they're both complete.

Kinda Funny completely slipped my mind. I don't watch them or really care for them so that's why I forgot probably.

I don't think the GT remnants could do what Kinda Funny does. I imagine the popularity gap is pretty wide. It would need to be pretty downscaled, probably have less people, and have a little bit of luck to work out alright.

Great, fixed the second and third link with the actual YouTube videos ;)

Holy shit you found the full list of episodes!!! Fuck yeah!

Thanks whoever uploaded them, I'm super glad he did however! :D

Huber is a top guy.
In one of the more recent GT Times / ManUps, he was mentioning how someone tried to make him feel bad about the moles on his face because they made him look like he was bitten in the face by a snake.

I was proper glad the rest of the panel were all over the fact that it was the most hardcore thing they'd ever heard.

Trying to listen to TotalBiscuit's Co-Optional podcast that Kyle was just on... Holy cow these cohosts are... something...

I don't know if I can make it through this.

Now I'm kinda scared to even listen to podcast with all the things I'm hearing on gaf.
Cooptional Podcast is a lot like Super Best Friendcast in that a lot of it is devoted to "tangential" conversations that may or may not involve video games, but reflect the personality of the hosts. If you don't like what you hear because it's too absurd/whatever, the podcast turns out to be a hard listen.

You don't watch (or listen) to the Co-Optional Podcast to get hard hitting games discussion or news (though you some times get that). You watch it for the interactions between TotalBiscuit, Dodger and Jesse (plus guest). They are just 3 friends talking about stuff (and occasionally video games) for 3 hours.

Co-Optional is actually a pretty good example of the type of games media that directly killed GT. It seems to be what brings in the money these days.

I do listen to Super Best Friends Cast. But did Kyle have much to say in the Co-optional? (I have watched the one with Woolie in it)

At the end he basically said that having just turned 30 and after losing his job he was excited to start the next chapter of his life, and that he didn't know what he'd be doing.

He also said that he was trying to retain the rights to The Final Bosman which is pretty exciting. Otherwise he said very little.

Thanks for the summary RabbitNoir. I'm kinda expecting the same might happen with Brandon jones when he gets on the podcast.

I pretty sure Kyle would have been more involved in the Co-Op podcast if he had a working camera. They couldn't see his reactions to what they were saying, so they couldn't play off that.
