Ha, detecting jokes over the internets is tricky business!Well, I was obviously joking about not understanding people who don't find SMG fun, and I completely see your point, even if I don't agree with you.

No. It wasn't silliness. You can take the entire transcript and replace the words "Gamecube Controller with no buttons" with "DRM" and it works completely. It's not even transparent. It's really obvious. If you've watched the other videos, or even in this one, about the elephant, he goes on to explain the metaphors a bit more.

Replacing DRM with the controller was the silliness. It was a joke to say he was gonna talk about the big controversy everyone is discussing and then threw the controller out there. You can do a little silly bit and still make a point, which is exactly what he did!
I can't really check right now, but I'm curious: is the buttonless controller really in the video?
Lol yeah, it actually is. Someone earlier mentioned seeing stress ball type things in the shape of a controller but the buttons may have been edited out somehow too.
Loved the Elephant. Great man.![]()
seen him for the first time today. its the first internet show i didnt fast forward just to see the highlights. i like it and i agree on his thoughts about nintendo.
as I said in my other post, there is something wrong about this episode (and for the sake of this show I hope it's not GT doing)
No offense, but the problem is with you, not him. The only thing different about this episode is the the subject matter centers around Nintendo, rather than Sony or Microsoft.
People are reading way into the Gamecube controller thing. It wasn't meant as a way to talk about DRM without talking about DRM to avoid getting in trouble with his boss. He just felt like doing that discussion in a clever, funny way. Not everything needs to be a conspiracy.
I dunno, he didn't talk about being anti-Third Reich, so I can only assume he is a closet Nazi.
Mays Gilliam did not attend this year's annual rally against cancer. Is Mays Gilliam for cancer or against cancer? Mays Gilliam, he's for cancer.
I dunno, he didn't talk about being anti-Third Reich, so I can only assume he is a closet Nazi.

...you may want to walk that one back a ways.I dunno, he didn't talk about being anti-Third Reich, so I can only assume he is a closet Nazi.

I liked it. Nintendo, stop being a big, dopey elephant. It's embarrassing
