The final Tonight Show with Jay Leno

Think it's good for him to finally leave. Fallon is decent. He's likable, but I find his interviews a bit lacking. Haven't watched Ferguson or Letterman. I hat Kimmel. He sucks in pretty much every way to me. Current Conan is my favorite, but he's a little above average.

Conan on Late Night was GOAT for me.

I just love Craig. That show is so meta sometimes that I just adore it. And Geoff... ugh.

If you don't know anything about Craig, watch the episode where he basically just interviewed Steven Fry for the whole thing. Two chairs, opposite each other, just talking.

Amazing.

I have to say I really like those segments - like the one he does with Will Shatner, where they are just sitting and really just having a conversation.

He's on right now, too. Just watched him interview a VERY obviously coked-up John Goodman (seriously, it's amazing how absolutely blown out of his mind Goodman was), and it was hilarious.

Anyone else that enjoys Conan, Leno, Kimmel and Fallon? I know you can't really watch them all, but no reason to shit on any of them.

Ferguson > Kimmel > Conan > Fallon > Letterman > Leno

Ferguson just oozes charm and forwardness. Kimmel has the charm down too, but he's a good interviewer. Conan is Conan. Fallon is weak, but he's likeable so I'll give him this. Letterman and Leno aren't that good IMHO

I don't see Jay choke up very often, I'd like to hear him talk more about his family sometime.

Jay doesn't really do the big celebration stuff really well but having Billy Crystal on was a good choice. Him and the speech were the highlights.

I never knew that about him letting comedians stay at his place in Boston. It's so strange to me that he's got this internet backlash and reputation with some as a bad guy when he's helped out so many comedians along the way.

This feels pretty big for me, I have a lot of good memories tied into watching Jay over the years and it's tough to see him go, I hope somehow he can get another show, maybe a half hour show at eleven somewhere.

With things changing so fast nowadays there aren't many of these kind of meaningful endings anymore. No matter how good a show or character or whatever is if it only lasts a few years it just doesn't have the impact when it ends.

Jay may not be the most genius comedian around but no one can say he didn't give it his all. He has to be one of the most dedicated comedians ever, he lives for it(and cars).

You're missing out on Ferguson. Once you start watching Ferguson's interviews, you won't want to go back to watching interviews with the scripted questions and stories every other late night show does.

Ferguson is only guy with a show where the interviews are interesting. Conan is great when he has guest whom he knows well. Other vise Conan just keeps asking standard late night questions. "So, I heard you guys played tricks on each other at the set?" Kimmel is fun when he is mean (mostly he just sucks). Fallon sucks up to everyone, don't like him one bit. He does have great dance and sing numbers but that's it.

Anybody new to Ferguson should just watch his latest interview with Aaron Eckhart. One of the strangest in a while.

Love Ferguson and how he just doesn't give a crap about anything and his guests know it.

I think I'm one of the only people left alive that recognizes Ferguson as "The boss on the Drew Carey Show"

><
don't hate me gaf

He has an attitude about him that's hard to get past. Adam Corolla balanced him out well, even on the shit that was The Man Show.

That women's suffrage bit is too infamous. People still replicate it on youtube. Which is funny cause you can't find the original bit the man show did.

Ferguson is on late/early enough that they really let him do whatever the fuck he wants. He gets away with saying some hard truths.

he also got the most game out of all of the late night hosts. in the interview with the bond girl from skyfall she pretty much wanted to bone him after that haha

Jay will get a job at Fox this fall (or somewhere). No way he stops for good.

Not happening. Fox would have to pay close to $100 million to clear all the stations for a 11:35 slot. Then add another $70 million or so to get the show up and running and it's not worth it. Why do you think Conan went to TBS, Fox even thought Conan was perfect for them.

How many more years does Dave have at the Late Show?

Is it safe to assume Ferguson would take over when Dave retires?

I would seriously doubt it.

I like Ferguson, but I can't see him taking over for Dave.

hahaha, no. Dave will likely bring in a woman to replace him, just to shake things up... I'm thinking Tina Fey or Amy Poehler...
Huh? I'm pretty sure he will. For one, he was hand picked by Dave to take the Late Late show. The other reason is he already has the so called "Prince of Wales Contract" meaning if Dave was to die tomorrow, or become unable to do the show anymore suddenly, He gets the show.

some of it was kind of corny but whatever...it's a new day

she does that to almost everyone she interviews

point still stands. he gets that reaction from every other female he interviews.

but damn bruh, knowing that...i wanna interview berenice :(

lol yea he does get a better reaction then the others, I think Kimmel is the only other one, but he is too sarcastic at times, but yea I'll put it up maybe later in the AM when I'm not on my phone, but she and the other bond girl was talking to dude in interview and she was flirting a bit with him. Dude got props because he tried to keep it more professional.

She got that hook on people brah...I mean who you think my avy is for BHM

Maybe not entirely relevant but Craig Ferguson > All other late night talk show hosts

Been feeling this way since 2011, love a bit of Craigyferg :-)

I thought Leno was ok, but i really only watched the 99 - 2005 period. What stopped me watching was not his comedy schtick..... but i was sick of him rotating the same annoying B grade guests every 3-4 weeks.

I had watched bits of Conan since 2000, but jumped on the bandwagon full time after my love of Leno faded.

I can't stand Jimmy Fallon

At his best Craig is really fucking funny and there is this kinda instant chemistry between the Craig and the guest... But when there is no chemistry the interviews are kinda painful to watch, doesn't happen often but it does happen. Especially with bigger starts who have no idea what they are getting into. They try to pimp their movies and are totally clueless what to do when Craig just skips over any PR talk.

I still hope he will interview Jennifer Lawrence, it would be fantastic television if they'll get goofy together.

Yeah hayden panettiere was on the other night. Shit was painful to watch, she's about as fun as a sack of bricks.

Hah, I had the same thought. The show was kind of off up to that interview already and I thought, great he and Hayden will hit it off and the show will get back on track. No luck :-\ Luckily it doesn't happen too often with the interviews.

even then it's fun seeing them forced to be a real person for a few minutes, instead of going on and telling some shitty story about a hilarious flight they were on a few days ago.

Some of the best interviews craig does is when there is no chemistry. When he interviewed Paris Hilton he was just making fun of her to her face and she had no clue what was going on.

I don't like Jimmy because he has a habit of laughing at his own jokes in the middle of a routine or delivery and ruining everything.

I like Jimmy. I think stuff like that just makes him more genuine. I love how enthusiastic he's about stuff. I also like that he showcases video games and puts them on the same platform as a movie or music. I haven't watched him too much over the last two years since I got married but I do know when I was watching him in the past he did a lot of great skits as well like the LOST one.

And I'm happy he's going to be on earlier-- means that once in a blue moon I will be able to watch him now.
