Very happy for Lewis, especially as he finished 2nd twice. Well deserved.
How close did Button come to winning 09?
If by personality you mean an inability to keep still for 5 minutes then yes he does.
I'd love to quote our Federal Chancellor: "Internet is new ground for all of us" (#Neuland). Ecclestone and Merkel obviously talk the same language.
"It is all about promoting the TV," confirmed Pace.
"Our intention is not to move viewers away from the TV, it is definitely to keep viewers on the TV but to supplement that experience and make it more exciting and getting people in the grandstands."
Fundamental lack of understanding that laptop/phone = TV for most people now.

Whether they really think that or not, they can't go putting races on youtube due to their existing contracts with broadcasters.
I don't have access to that link. I don't know what I'm supposed to be seeing there. I'm sure that your response to my first sentence brings down my whole argument though.
Okay I phrased my sentence wrong. I meant to say do broadcasters re-air races on television after, say a few weeks.
i.e. If you wanted to watch, say, Spa 2014 on your paid service on TV, would you be able to?
Do they do so for any other sport?
Ferrari announces that, as from next season, Esteban Gutierrez will become part of the Scuderia workforce. After two years competing in Formula 1 at the wheel of Ferrari-powered cars, the young Mexican has now been chosen for the job of test and reserve driver, a role in which his experience will be put to good use in the area of car development. While confirming our full confidence in a formidable race driver pairing, made up of four times World Champion Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen, a past champion with Ferrari, I am pleased to welcome Esteban Gutierrez, commented the Scuderias Director General and Team Principal, Maurizio Arrivabene. We are pleased to be able to offer this opportunity to Esteban who, although young, has plenty of experience relating to the new generation of Formula 1 cars. I am sure that, with his experience, he will make an important contribution to the development work of the team in the simulator. Welcoming Esteban also means opening the gates of Ferrari to a driver from Mexico, a country where the Scuderia still has a lot of fans, just as was the case fifty years ago in the days of the Rodriguez brothers. It is an honour to become part of the Scuderia Ferrari family, a Team with such an exceptional history, commented Esteban Gutierrez. It is for me the beginning of a new path for my future and Im going to do my utmost to contribute to the achievement of the targets set by the Scuderia. I want to thank everybody for their belief in my potential; this will bring a great opportunity for me to develop further and get to the top in the near future. With all my passion and dedication, Im now looking forward to the start of this new venture
What experience does he even have to contribute to the simulator?

He'll be able to test the accuracy of the Maldonado blue shell. What experience does he even have to contribute to the simulator?
He may be allowed to calibrate the a/c and prewarm the seat - but the car dev will be 100% VET. It´ll be tailor-custom-made for him.
Can't wait for radio conversations between VET and garage.
His tears will probably short out the car while he's fighting for 10th place.Imagine if he gets a technical failure during the first race.

Finishing 5th would be the most amusing outcome.
Nah that would be the most amusing outcome for Fernando The curse of the 5th place lingers on

I bet Bernie still uses a rotary phone.

He has very lucrative sponsorship and it means he gets to test for Ferrari. More importantly, it gives him a very solid avenue into racing in other series. Just like how Kobayashi was doing well for Ferrari in the GT categories.
Of course it's good for his career, but I don't see what Ferrari has to gain from this. Even though it's just for testing.
Sure, it's all about the money, but even then there are better pay drivers than this guy
