Questions have nothing to do with the game, but here we go!

Sealed PS2 version of 'The Getaway: Black Monday'

I'm never going to play it, so I'm parting with it.

In order to shake of the dibs phenomenon, Answer this simple and easily researchable question without an edit in your post-- I'll raffle amongst the first 5 to answer. No PMs.

Who has the Guinness Record for having the most Guinness Records?
Ashrita Furman.

So I'm going to end up with 2, maybe 3, copies of the Metal Gear Saga Vol. 2 disc (+ MGO beta code), and I just might put one up for grabs in this thread. Still deciding if I should or not though.:D

Anyone who calls dibs now will NOT be getting it :p

Given:
HL2 Autographed Poster
UT2004 (cd version)

Received:
USB psp charger

Want:
PSN Games (specifically just pixeljunk monsters)

and some dibs...

You should be playing MGS3 :p

Yeah, yeah, I know :P. Played Rock Band, Hot Shots Golf, and Crisis Core all through the weekend :D. I don't think I'll be playing MGS3 tonight, since I'm probably playing some more RB with friends.

Yes please. Since I'm waiting for the MGS4 PS3 bundle it would be nice to get that. :)

Quick questions about those, has Gamestop even recieved em yet? I reserved today, yet they didnt have any.

vgamer1's package sent. When he recieves, he's supposed to take a pic holding a "muckhole is awesome" sign. I eagerly await the results.

Also, I just shipped JodyAnthony a copy of Zombies Ate My Neighbours for the SNES, but mind you it wasn't up for grabs in this thread.

My next few things may be given out in some kind of raffle.

If you do end up giving them out I'd love one, I can't get the MGS Saga V2 disc in Canada :(

I'm actually building up a collection of gaming crap I don't use anymore to give away. I have a broken PS2 fat if anyone is interested.

We're always screwed out of the good stuff. :(

BTW I still have those empty GCN game cases for any Toronto area GAFers that are interested in a local pickup. PM me so I don't miss your request.

I would really like that as well. I'm holding out on the MGS4 PS3 bundle, so I'll never be able to get the preorder DVD.

EDIT: Do a raffle if you end up giving one away. It seems like a lot of people want one.

Well, you said not to request them now, but since everyone else has, I'll add that I would really like a copy of this. I have vol. 1 and won't be able to pre-order and pick up vol. 2 due to financial constraints. It'd be really awesome to get one from somebody.

@ all the replies: If I do give a copy away, it definitely won't be a "first post gets it" kinda deal. The demand for it seems to be high, so I would try to be as fair as possible to all who want it (so like you guys suggested, raffle most likely). But again, I haven't decided yet whether to give it away or not...I'll decide once my local Gamestops get their copies. I'll let you guys know either way.

Many positive feedbacks for beelzebozo and adg1034. King Kong and Resident Evit 4 arrived quickly and in terrific condition.

Games are in the mail.

Thanks Paco for the game. I got it today.

This thread has slowed down considerably. :(

It was fun while it lasted.

I haven't done anything in this thread yet, so I guess now is the time to contribute. I got a code from some generous soul for the Battlefield beta thinking that, since my 360 disc drive is broken, I might as well get something download related for it as I'd actually be able to play it. Well, for some reason, I didn't redeem the code then and there and now my 360 is getting 2 RRs everytime I try to use it, so I'm officially screwed. No playing anything whatsoever and Microsoft will only repair it if I pay them $100 despite the fact that the disc drive flaws and other red rings are just as inherent to the hardware and their fault as the 3RROD.

Anyway, point is, I've got a Battlefield: Bad Company beta key up for grabs. First person who (a) hasn't got anything in this thread yet and (b) can point me to either a detailed writeup or video for how to RROD a 360 can have it.

Damn misread.

I don't want the code, but if you put a disc in and run it consistently, shouldn't the heatsink overheat and cause a full RRoD?

Throwing it down the stairs would probably work too.

Can't put in a disc and run it because the disc drive is broken and can't run it too long without a disc because it turns itself off after 2 Red Rings.

Have you tried the towel trick but then leaving the towel wrapped around it while it runs? If you do that enough I'm sure it will eventually die. I don't want the beta thingy btw.

awesome, man. enjoy k.k.--i think it's underrated.

i got a p.m. from sherveen letting me know he got his copy of brothers in arms, and between this and that, it made my evening. though this thread frequently seems to slip off the rails (three days ago, reading it i was nearly ashamed to have ever been involved), there's no denying that a lot of good, generous people are on gaf, who only want others to enjoy games as much as they do.

Yeah, I did. Didn't work; just kept on hitting the 2 RRs and cutting off. Only way to keep it running for a long time was to sit there and make it cut back on immediately after it turned itself off. (Which I did, for an hour, and then gave up.) It's not that I can't afford the repair either, it's just that I'll be damned if I'm going to pay MS $100 for their shoddy hardware. I'm seriously about ready to simply sell off my broken 360 and all my games to grab a PS3 and either PS3 or PC versions of all my old 360 games. Hell, maybe I'll even give them away in here at some point. :lol

Come to the dark side. We have Blu-Ray's and cookies. :D

Here's a thread that may help with the RRoD bit:

Apparently you need to smother the fan with towels while placing it in front of a space heater and blasting it with a hair dryer.

EDIT: Here's how the guy actually did it:
The thing finally broke!! I put in the freezer for about two hours and then took it out and plugged it in and got a bunch of crunchy noises coming from seemingly the motherboard. Anyways, I finally got the three red lights and the box should be here any day now for me to replace it with! Hopefully I get a new console back, that would be awesome. Tomorrow I'll heat the thing up a little just to get it back to normal temperatures so they don't suspect any foul play.
