The "FREE to a good home" Thread

I have to agree with beelze. I mean, I've sent out two games already, started a book giveaway in the OT, am packing things as I sit here, and all I've gotten back is half a game, which I was grateful to get. This thread would be a lot better if there weren't people camping in it to see if any new free shit has been posted, and exponentially better if the ratio of offering even came close to the ratio of begging.

I whole-heatedly agree. It seems like everything here is grabbed up withing seconds from posting.

Lets not start this argument and ruin the thread again.

Well, I've sent out two good items: an Audigy2 ZS soundcard and Full Metal Jacket on Blu-ray. Besides, you can easily click on someone's posting history to see if they're legit or not and/or if they've contributed.

If the people who are giving stuff out are starting to feel burnt, why the hell did they give it away in the first place? You don't give to receive, and if you do, your intentions are arguably misguided.

Noted. I'm dropping it.

it's not the flow of the thread or any imbalance in what people have given/received that i find disturbing or off-putting. it's begging. and if people are just begging for games, then what you have isn't a "free to a good home" thread--you have a "please take pity on my cheap ass" thread. as long as you understand that, that's cool.

i'll try and keep my mouth shut

There is no burning. I think this thing should be stickied, actually; it's a great communal idea. But the hand-in-cup stuff has got to be cut down.

The problem is that it's actually worked for a lot of people, so it's obviously going to keep happening when people see that.

but yeah, let's drop this.

Agreed.

I'm putting up these items now:

Tetris Plus (PSX)

Stretch Panic (PS2)

Starcraft (PC)

Oooh... I 'm tempted to take StarCraft, but I'm pretty sure I just have it lying around somewhere - wouldn't want to prevent someone from getting it, and wind up finding it the next day.

EDIT: Also, I think requests are okay... if they're kept to a limit. They're especially okay if the user has given content away.

Well shit. Wish I got in on this thread sooner.

I'm willing to take anyone's load of PS3 games that they're willing to part with. PSP games too if you got any.

did some spring cleaning, (still a ton more to do)

I found two games that I can let go:

I also found a Mario Kart Double Dash Tshirt from e3 a few years ago, it's been hanging in my spare closest since (it's XL but more like XXL so I never wore it)

Edit: UT2003 goes to RadioHeadAche, shirt to NintendoGal

Edit: Pic added sorry for shitty quality

I think I want Unreal Tournament more, so I'll give up Starcraft if I can get UT2003.

Edit: I will not be taking Starcraft, anymore.
Thanks, regs!

if starcraft is being given up may i have it?

EDIT: lost my starcraft long ago and it was my FAVORITE computer game ever created, only wc3 gets close to it (damn you blizzard for rocking at RTS games)

My camera isn't hooked up currently, but if anyone is interested i'll put up a picture of it.

Can I?

Alright well I guess I'll update you guys on my "haul" form Gamecrazy this morning. They had about 20 or 25 PS1 games, maybe 5 or 6 SNES games, 2 for Genesis, and a few NES games. I'd say about 98% were shitty old sports games. Unless someone wanted Shaq-Fu I don't think I'd be much help to you. I ended getting Syphon Filter 2, Battle Arena Toshinden, Rainbow Six, Spec Ops(?), and...Mission Impossible. :lol I felt so sad walking out of there.

Heh that happened to me. Only things I ended up walking out with were the other two games I sent off (Wipeout and Pitfall), lucked up on Rayman 1 (man that game still looks nice), Psychic Force (have no idea how to play it) and...Smurf Racing for my lil cousin.

I might be giving away one more thing in a few minutes. Maybe.

:D

Also does anyone have any experience with making Sega Smash Pack PC display at a full resolution on Vista? it only runs in a little window off to the side when full screen.

Next up on the block:

Gunpey - PSP: Complete

Dark Cloud 2 - PS2: Brand new/shrinkwrapped

Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance 2 - PS2: Used, rental copy from Rogers Video. Missing
manual, has Rogers sticker on it, light scratching.
Works fine.

I'm going to let people PM me, then I'm going to draw names out of a hat. I won't be deciding until next week, likely wednesday, so everyone will have a chance. (Plus it'll give me time to save for shipping :P)

PM with the game(s) you want to be entered for in the title field.

In for whatever raffle it is, I love raffles... I'll be happy just taking part of it.

Or better yet, do trivia, I love taking part in that too!

Does anyone even want this? I never finished it :lol

it's basically bad gameplay, great presentation. Kind of like the Simpsons game as far as licensed games go.

edit: also, pm sent about dark cloud 2
