If you aren't going online or using system link you won't be able to play TF2.

Oh man Ep2 is just 100% awesome. I'm at the part with the car
right after it got fixed, the hunters are formidable opponents, there's a new combine dude too with a shotgun who's a dick. I'm loving the shotgun and the crossbow.

Don't have a full transcript, but he talks about how it was him that saved you at black mesa, and he also saved Alyx. Then he whispers in Alyx's ear "tell Eli to be prepared for Unforseen Consequences", then it ends. A full transcript would help as it's one of the more important scenes in the game

Just finished Portal now. Pretty much speechless. Valve is just in a league of their own. Easily the best two games I've played all year, and both in one package....ridiculous.
 
ok quick lil review for you guys. i have the xbox 360 version

i never played half life. i started with half life 2 and i am most of the way thru and man its a sweet game. loving it so much. can not wait to start episode 1 lol.


the game looks great. dunno what a xbox 360 vs pc port looks like. all i know is it looks like a next gen game. i was surprised cause i expected it to look the aged game it is.

controls are adjustable and plays like many console fps. weapon swapping is a breeze, similar to gears of war as well as the bumpers for quick swapping. gravity gun is easy to use and don't feel like the controls get in the way at all. with in 5 mins i had them down pat.

Well I caved in and picked up the game today since it was sale where I work at, but is anyone else pissed off at the fact that Valve is making most fans pay for the same 2 games twice? What makes me even more pissed is the fact that they only give you a single serial # for the entire package so you can't even give the first 2 games to someone else.

You bought it at retail? Well I assume that it works the same way as it does over Steam - you CAN give away HL2 and Ep 1 to someone on your friends list using the gift system.

You need to use the gravity gun to shoot all the cars off the broken part of the bridge, then it will tilt back towards the car.

You're talkin' Steam version on PC, right? If you have HL2 and Ep1 already in your account, Orange Box automatically gives you a "gift" copy of each one, which you may give to whomever you choose.
 
Ohh well that's cool. /bitching :)

I can't play it until this weekend since I have to go down south to pick up my desk top. I suppose I could DL Steam on my laptop again and register the game now, but there wouldn't be much use in doing that...

Its ok if you're not into mods and online, but having more games to play and less time to try other things does not make the 360 version better. Thats just plain wrong and retarded. OMGZ LESS FEATURES IS BETTA! OMGZ Why do you 360 fanboys keep making lame ass excuses. It might be slightly more comfortable on the console but that factor is invalid. Couch... gamepad.... :lol :lol :lol :lol

I said wow. I made mention of it earlier, but why is nobody talking about it? Easily the most impressive graphics in any game I've ever seen, Crysis included.

Really? I thought the area was rather tame. It looked kinda cool, but nothing to write home about. The outdoors areas were much more impressive imo.

Same, except its my xbox. I put the orange box in for 5 minutes. Now my disc drive is dead. Repair time. I am sad. Very sad.

I must be overreacting to it or something, a non-geek friend of mine was also amazed with it though, he then continued to watch me play for the next 3 hours, commenting that it was like I was playing a movie :lol

I was impressed by the cave walls, they were all shiny and stuff.

I'm still blown away by how awesome the game looks on an engine so old. It's still amazing how much they have tweaked this damn thing over the years. When I got the TF2 Beta a week or two ago I still couldn't believe this game was running on the same engine.
 
The forest really looks great to me. It looks really woodsy, almost like there is a blue filter on the screen.
 
I was really surprised by all of the new graphical improvements in Episode 2. It really is a huge difference going from HL2, and even Episode 1 to Episode 2. I wonder if they plan on adding anything new for Episode 3 (whenever that comes out...)

Original HL2 or HL2 ep2? Episode 2 and TF2 (and even portal) ARE more demanding than HL2, but not terribly so.

If you're referring to Episode 2 though, it'll be fine.

I loved just looking around in Chapter 3 when you get outside and you can look at all the structures. It all just feels so massive and complete.
 
Bah I was going to order the asian version from Play-asia but it's sold out :( Not even Gears was sold out on play-asia :( wtf...

I've only ever used Lik-sang and play-asia. What other import sites are around taht are reliable?
 
Hey did anyone notice that if you look down Alyx's buttcrack, it looks like she is wearing panties now? Before it was nothingness.

I have to say, I've played HL2 and EP1 countless times but never have I looked at Alyx's ass :/

I can run Half Life 2 good. High settings at 1900x1200, usually a bit above 30fps with some dips every now and then when things get heavy. Can I run Portal and TF2 with no problems? Or would I be better off with the 360 version?

And probune and lockii are liars.

Well, I run Half-Life 2 at around 250fps on average, Episode 2 runs around 80-150 for me, you might find it too jerky to be enjoyable. 360 version or upgrade your computer. (I recommend the latter but I dont suppose you have a spare 10 grand around, cause thats how much computers cost)

Don't get me wrong, I've looked at it admiring the modeling and texturing, but Alyx is not overtly sexual like most other female protagonists, so I have no reason to look at it.

You'll run those two fine, but I'd suggest taking down the resolution a bit.
 
I would just like to take this opportunity to say that Alyx is my favourite female videogame character ever. Sadly, that's primarily due to the fact that she's not fucking helpless.
