Just curious as to what the support for the two presidential candidates is like around here. No arguments/discussions around here. Just one word replies. I'll get started:

Kerry +1

EDIT: And to make things clear, I'm not a US citizen so it might be good if those of you replying would state whether you are a citizen of the US or not.

Bush + 1

And I am a U.S. citizen.

(Obviously we'll see a landslide of Kerry voters since GAF is democratic/liberal for the most part.)

I think I'd have to say Nader +1.

But over Bush and Kerry I'd prefer Kerry, but yeah, I'd probably vote for Nader.

And, yes, I am a US Citizen.

US citizen

To be frank though, I don't like Kerry. But unfortunately its either him or bush. *sigh* Either way we lose...

In terms of issues, I'd vote for Nader, but strategically, voting for Nader would just keep Bush in power. So...

Kerry +1

Not a US citizen and wouldn't want to be one either.

Kerry +1, because mediocrity is better than a power-hungry politico who wears his religion on his sleeve.

+1 Kerry
US citizen, registered to vote and everything. Some of y'all plugging Nader may want to make sure he'll actually be on the ballot in your state.

I would definitely have put in a protest vote for Nader, but I don't think he made our ballot.

I wonder if they actually count write-in votes.

Either way, I hope Bush wins...

I'll take "Contradictory Statements" for $500, Alex.

+1 Kerry

Fourth generation American.

Ralph's anti-immigrant, indifferent to abortion, anti-pornography, anti-violent videogames, pro-staying-in-Iraq. Why should people be surprised if a Republican praises him?

because you have to agree 100% with a candidate and fall in line on every issue, right?

it amazes me how easy people fall into Democratic talking points after hearing it enough times...

I agree with Nader on:

-closing tax loops (Conservative position)
-corporate welfare reduction (Conservative position)
-government out of consenting adults lives (Conservative position)
-election/campaign reform
-immigration reform (Liberal position)
-environment (Liberal position)

BUT, I support Bush on foreign policy (and a bunch of other issues)...

Wow, former New York mayor Ed Koch disagrees with Bush on everything but thinks he'll keep NYC safer than Kerry will, what a "contradictory statement"...

Even the right-wing nut Pat Buchanan and Nader agree a quite a lot.

Hah, I was thinking the same exact thing when I read that. :p

Perhaps he meant that he would have voted for Nader because he doesn't approve of the way the two campaigns have been conducting themselves (the frequent sniping and mud-slinging etc.) as opposed to concentrating solely on Bush's performance in office or Kerry's merit as a candidate? Who knows...

I really shouldn't have given him that "out", because it's really the only way that his statements could be considered non-contradictory. :p Though still, when voting for an office, you should really vote for the person you feel would do the best job, not just to make some tangential point that isn't going to be heard anyway (there is no "why did you vote this way" text box on the ballots, as far as I know :D).
