So can anyone answer whether Jade Raymond actually read the right winner for Best Performance? My lady got a real kick out of it.

GAF has such thin skin, that was like the mildest jab ever.

Nah, The Game Awards 2015 was pretty much the mid-90s Source Awards of this industry. Eastern Hemisphere/Western Hemisphere beef in full effect, and Jade Raymond held it down for the Canadians

Shots were fired.

The Game Awards, sponsored by, among many other brands, Xbox, presented at the Microsoft theater in LA.
Did you really expect a PlayStation first party exclusive to be awarded?

Hell, with the amount of Star Wars Battelfront shilling going on, I'm surprised they didn't give that game at least 3 awards.

Goes without saying, though, it was worth watching for all the middle fingers pointed at Konami. #FuckKonami

Also sponsored by...wait for it...PLAYSTATION! *gasp*

Tribute to Iwata, Westwood getting some god damn recognition, Geoff's massive middle finger to Konami, drunk Jade, ended with an absolutely nothing set from Deadmau5. The show was...interesting. At least Psychonauts 2 is a thing for real.

Westwood & Iwata tribute were worth the price of admission.

The Iwata Tribute and the shots at Konami made watching worth it, but overall I liked the show a bit better last year. Still much, much better than it was before Geoff made it his own show.

It was an entertaining show, a bit light on reveals, but overall good imo.

Nice Konami bashing, and the Iwata tribute was also nice.

Bloodborne not winning anything is a fucking travesty though.

Get used to seeing more of it throughout the game awards this year.

My hope is that GAF GOTY award crowns it as deserved winner this year.

That deadmouse guy stunk at the end. I dont' care for the 1995 rave music.

It was alright. I like the Iwata tribute but I don't understand why most of the premiere are considered "premiere." Still happy that Greg won but definitely not for Bloodborne....

It definitely was entertaining.....it's been getting better slowly but surely. He needs to do more studio hilights next year. That Westwood tribute was fantastic. Iwata tribute hit the feels. Some awkward product placement....but how else do you get these things funded.

Decent show all around....besides we only need to wait till Saturday for bombs at PSX anyways. Far cry did look badass though.

Absolutely not. As long as Keighley is in charge of these things, it's always going to be the same thing. He's the common denominator here, every year.
It's a really shitty awards show. The BAFTA's Game awards puts it to unbelievable shame.

we can't watch the BAFTAs though can we? serious question, I don't know.

I think for this show, they need to stop trying to insistently pitch the worth of video games to what sounds like a non game audience. just stop it. reeks of insecurity. just get on with it.

Also, I wonder what happened to Donna Burke. She was supposed to perform Sins of the Father live at the show. Sounds like something to do with Konami to me. Oh, well, on the bright side, Stefanie Joosten got to perform instead. :p

Oh really?

What a surreal night this has been...

The show was just like the industry; entertaining, but dysfunctional as fuck. Geoff was probably on edge most of the night when he realized two of his top presenters were either drunk or high off of their asses. And you could tell the entire Kojima situation had him pissed to no end, to the point where he didn't care if he burned a few bridges to tell the truth of the matter.

All that and Psychonauts 2. Surreal.

fuck, there was a lot of boring reveals and time wasted on non gaming musical guests, but geoff firebombing konami on air and jade raymond being hilarious saves it for me

They need to bring back Jade for next year as well, she could take shots at the award winners. It's what's best for business.

The show was going pretty well, but it kinda died in the second hour. The shameless shilling, half-hearted "world premieres," and general lack of substance started really adding up as the show wore on.

And if you're going to have an award category for games that "make an impact" for social issues and the like, give it time on the show and showcase why that game is so noteworthy. If you're not going to do that for a category like that, then why have the award at all? What's the point?

The actual production itself was greatly improved from last year's show, though, and the basic formula is clearly there to make this Game Awards thing a quality show. It's just not all together yet. So keep at it next year, Geoff!

I dunno, pretty mediocre overall. Geoff is a terrible presenter on-camera. Hand in his pocket or crossed over his chest, very stiff, eyes cast down and rarely looking at the camera. Pacing was all off. Geoff casually announcing some winners as he did was just off-putting as well.

Westwood and Iwata tributes though were good.

I know. Feels like I'm the odd one out but this show was much better than last year and definitely better than most if not all of the Spike ones.

The musical performances all fell flat though, especially the end. With the exception of Stefanie, of course.

Whatever happened to the Academy Of Interactive Arts & Sciences awards? I always kind of considered those to be "the game awards".
