The Game Awards 2016 Thread: Kojima Time Featuring The Kojimas

I'm gonna be paying attention, mainly for Zelda. (Hopefully they keep that one until near the end, so I stay perked up.) Hoping to see Hungrybox win an award though, that dude deserves one for sure (then again, so does Infiltration, and probably all the other nominees).

How much earlier does the preshow start? The actual event is at 3am here and i would like to catch some sleep before :)

Thanks GAF. Almost missed this. Thought it was on the 2nd or 3rd.
Why is it on a Thursday? Nothing's ever on a Thursday. Or I guess technically it's on a Friday, for us Europeans.
I've got nothing going on tomorrow morning, so I guess I'll try to stay up.

Looking forward to it. I'd love it if INSIDE won GOTY but it might just be Overwatch which I'd be very happy with too. As long as the folks at Playdead get something tonight.

As fate would have it, our systems are down so I've been sent to work from home... and stream this show at the same time :P

That is what I would assume, as we know its in active development but for some reason people are thinking its Duke Nukem? I guess there is some hints evidence out there

Randy Pitchford's tweet was in response to someone asking for Duke Nukem and Duke Nukem's voice actor was hyping up more Duke.

A studio in Vancouver, Phoenix Labs, posted this picture and that their first game would be debuted tonight at the GA's. (Sorry if old!)

Well, if they're shown for the first time they're premieres by definition.

This kind of sad reasoning is why they allowed Reggie to show up with Kranky Kong.

"World premiere" used to generally be understood to mean either a new game unveiling or a significant narrative/gameplay reveal for a known game. Not random unreleased characters/features or DLC.

Ex-Riot Dev's hey? Interesting. Wonder what it will be. Keighly debuting new games by smaller indie studios at the Game Awards has me more than a little worried after what happened with No Mans Sky. Great style though. Really beautiful.

Is this a code name for the game or the actual name? Guess I'll have to wait and see :P

Well going off what Keighley has already said - there won't be a No Man's Sky kind of presentation to it, so there won't be anywhere near as much confusion or disappointment assuming this is the case.

I'm just hoping this isn't concept art for a game that is still 3 years off like NMS was too. I'd almost prefer if they had some kind of game to present instead of an idea for what their game could be...which is what got NMS is so much trouble at the end of the day. Regardless, I'm sure every indie developer in the world has paid close attention to what happened with that game and are making efforts to not make the same mistakes.

I didn't know this was on a Thursday this year. I still won't watch it but I will follow the announcements plus some of the awards.

And I will continue to bitch about Dark Souls 3 not being included in the GOTY nominations, let alone not winning it.

I'm not into gaming much these days, but I'm mainly here for the first trailer for Full Throttle. Double Fine confirmed it'll be shown here a while back.

Hopefully some news about more remakes/sequels to older Lucas adventures, but that's just me dreaming. Full Throttle will definitely be there though.
