The Giant Bomb Quick Look Thread 2

It's funny how many problems are already visible just by watching half of this QL. Looks absolutely terrible.

Yeah, I really loved the part where the random guy who joined after they started actually had the power to skip cutscenes. Isn't that the kind of thing you leave up to the game's host, or to a unanimous vote?

Way to be instantly dismissive of a game for no reason other than to sound hilariously snarky. That's exactly what I'm looking for in my video game coverage.

I love how Ryan and Patrick are talking about how it is difficult to play scary games
right as a monster drops from the ceiling and grabs Patrick's character

And neither of them bat an eyelash

"What's that?" "Eh, I dunno."

That wasn't very scary. All the monster did was cover the player's eyes and then sit there.

"Guess who!"

"Pyramid head?"

Seriously. Have not been as annoyed by Ryan and Patrick in a long while. That said, the combat and enemy design looks terrible.

Horror games are all about your environment and state of mind. Playing in a perfectly lit room while constantly talking to another person with the game sound kind of low is just about the worst situation for a horror game.

Ugh yeah that was a pretty terrible quicklook. Despite the performances issues it's easily my favorite none japanese silent hill. Should have given it 20 min more and shown some exploration or at least shown a puzzle.

I guess that is the problem with quicklooks for games that they haven't played all the way through.

That combat does look pretty awful though...

Combat is bad (but hey there's achievements for finishing the game without killing any creatures!) and so is the performances of the game. There's really quite a lot of reasons to dislike it, just seems like they are over negative from the beginning and they don't really get into the meat of the game (exploration and puzzles). Also Patrick really seems to talk too much about the previous silent hills compared to how little he clearly knows about them. and no, Pyramid Head luckily is not in the game.

Downpour looks fucking terrible. Which is probably why they sound so down on it!

I've played it and it is terrible, so I dunno why there's such a backlash against the quick look. Sure, they were a bit flippant, but... well, that's what Giant Bomb typically does with games they think are shite.

I actually thought the game looks good in almost every way but they sounded so down on it... weird.

i don't want you to be alarmed, but there may be damage to your perceptive region, a game that looks aesthetically worse than a ps2 game in the same series is not good in ANY way.

It's Ryan and Patrick. You were expecting... ?

If a QL does not include at least one of the rest of the crew then just skip it because it's going to be a shitshow.
