The Giant Bomb Quick Look Thread 2

I have to assume that what bothers me is both the "realistic" context in which the cartoonish beheadings are taking place, and the whole machetes butchering Africans thing.

If the Call of Duty games had any semblance of maturity or sophistication in terms of tone or content, maybe this kind of violence would be there intentionally to make you reflect on something. But I don't think that's what's going on.

The game starting off with you being forced to watch a man burn alive is great!

LOL

I also love Treyarch's circle jerking of how great they are by plastering their logo on everything they could.

It's kind of funny that, if Spec Ops ever comes back, it will likely pattern itself after Call of Duty rather than CoD patterning its war drama off of Spec Ops.

Urgh.

Spec Ops was in no ways perfect, but it was a damn sight more interesting to me then the crap Warfighter or, by the looks of it, BO2 are trying to pull

It's too nasty to be silly and video gamey, but also too silly to be nasty (and be reflective over soldiers-of-fortune and well, machete-killings rife in African wars. It's neither fish nor foul.

Hmm, that quick look is selling me on Blops 2, looks like they really added a lot of stuff to multiplayer

steam sale is only a few weeks away though X_X

I've been using the HTML5 player and it has been streaming fine.

Youtube has been awful the past week though. I have to let even 480p videos buffer before watching them.

Yeah, F1 looked a fun. I love that they captured the feeling Abu Dhabi in an almost perfect way. You go from the Ferrari theme park thingy, into the city, into the desert and loop back. I think they did an excellent job with it. Music was awful, though :|.

I remember buying and playing shitty licenced games on my Game Boy back in the 90s or early 2000s and this Thundercats game is worse than half of that

Thundercats 25:26 (Ryan/Vinny)

Neither Ryan or users could give this game a proper quicklook so soon after release.

Hell give it 2 weeks at least, or a month and than you'll know if you bought yourself the thunder cats portable game you hope it is.

I personally bought it myself and there's no way this is a 1 star game. The fact that he thinks there's a "proper" thundercats makes it inevitable that he is actually comparing the game to it's cartoon counterparts, and what it could've been, instead of commenting on the game for what it's.

I love listening to Ryan on the podcasts and quick looks and stuff. He's great. But I wouldn't even BEGIN to listen to his or Giantbomb's opinions on thundercats games. From the first time I saw Brad with it on that i love mondays video they did, everyone on Giantbomb seemed COMPLETELY disinterested in the property, and I haven't seen any actual interest from them since then. They didn't even know the price beforehand, totally unprofessional

Haha.

Is this going to be a thing? Please let this become a thing.

Please be Poe's Law, please be Poe's Law, please be Poe's Law

Look, I shouldn't be surprised, looking smart and hip on a quick look is more important than actually playing and having a basic understanding of a game. But that doesn't mean I can't comment on Ryan recording something that is blatantly spreading misinformation about the game. He said there were six stages and they were halfway through the game, but if he even bothered to look at the menu he'd know there was another separate stage attack mode. I know what game modes are offered in the game, one of the few pieces of information released by Scamco about this game. It's not that hard.

$30 US Dollar Bills for that Thundercats game. Damn.

You can get Pushmo, Crashmo, VVVVVV, and Link's Awakening on the 3DS for that amount of money, FYI.

is all I'm hearing while I'm studying.
