The Giant Bomb Quick Look Thread 2

This looks really good....

Looks like a game ass game and I love it for that.

Also, I swear they're making Sleeping Dogs DLC just for Vinny at this point. I especially like how Sleeping Dogs was actually #3 on Vinny's top ten last year, but based on the site's coverage, you could swear that it's #1.

totally #1. Vinny made a mistake.

Also, I would have totally been okay with them playing through all of the DLC. >_>

Of course you'd be okay with it, but it's kind of a shitty thing to do.

It's an experience developers are charging money for and if you see it all in the video, the incentive to buy it is sort of diminished.

Sure it's entertaining, but I could understand if the publishers got upset over showing all of the content so near the release.

Hmm, for all the streamlining I heard they were doing it still looks like it plays kinda complicated with lots and lots of buttons and menus to look through to find stuff.

The tiny city size, non-random environments, unchangeable city grid locations (if I remember right), etc. all make me hesitant about this game.

I thought they were hyping up the fact you can do more natural cities that are curved and stuff, but since you can't stretch the city out at all from the square grid that doesn't seem like a viable way to play. :\

That's a very strange complaint: They certainly reduced the need to build some things bit-by-bit (like power connections and water pipes), I don't think anyone ever considered the menus in Sim City to be all that complicated. They really don't seem all that complex?

Plenty of people seem to be able to play the Sims just fine, I'm sure streamlining menus by reducing options is the wrong way to go about creating a city-building game.

Oh, I'm perfectly aware of all of this, that's why I ended my post with that smiley.

Oh man I could never watch Vinny play videogames over a longer period of time, he's just foolin around too much and has no sense of direction. I know many like this and it can lead to funny moments, which I also enjoy, but sometimes its just too much.

I'm so glad I dodged this on pc for the time being, seams to have some serious issues with Nvidia cards. At first I though it was just textures failing to load but when Vinny stated faffing with the settings it's clear there are driver problems ahoy. That vid should carry a seizure warning. Couldn't stop laughing at the "pit of dead cows" and "pile of Gateway 2000 boxes"comments
