So there's been call for a catch all Giant Bomb thread. With the launch of the Quest system on the site the Quick Look thread quickly got bogged down in discussion of that and people asking for help.

So if you have something Giant Bomb related that doesn't already have a dedicated thread I guess this is the place.

About Quests

Asking for and giving out help on the Quests is fine but as a courtesy to those who would rather figure things out on their own please put any hints or answers in clearly marked spoiler tags.

Thanks for making this thread! Can i get some hints for the quest "Can I Get Some Quarters?" of the generation gap set?

edit - and can somebody hint me as to what the secret bloke in the famous people quest set is? its driving mad!
 
I got frustrated while hunting down Flash in the Pan since none of the consoles I tried were answers, so I literally clicked on every item in the list of platforms and only came up with 2 of the 4 answers. I have no idea what else to try

Also the site's slowness and awful search system is highlighted by the quest system, makes it a little frustrating

For some reason when I go to the Power Glove page it doesn't give me credit for the quest. Is their more to it?

Edit: Just found that page and got credit for it. I swear I tried everything in my power to find that page last time and couldn't. Using this search engine is like writing manual SQL queries
 
Really like the quest system, as it does a really good job at bringing many aspects about the site together into a unified thing. Also like that it can be used to point people towards wiki pages, as I still think they need to do more to promote that aspect of the site. When I went over to the NES page for instance, I was kind of shocked at how thin it was. You'd figure the console that is responsible for reviving gaming after the crash would have more information in its wiki page.

I can't be assed to do it myself though, as I'd rather edit wiki pages on obscure Mass Effect shit.

I think it's funny that the vast majority of my points have come from writing about all the Sonic 4 leaks. At least I'm now Top Editor on the page instead of Willy. :lol

Nope, worked for me, but for some reason I had to Google search it to find the Giant Bomb page, couldn't find it through their search engine.

Use "searchterm1 ... searchtermN +searchtermPriorized -searchtermExcluded site:giantbomb.com"

You'll find just about anything

Edit: Example: http://www.google.com/search?q="jeff+gerstmann"+twitter+%2Bmobile+-ryan+site%3Agiantbomb.com

That would translate to this search term: "jeff gerstmann" twitter +mobile -ryan site:giantbomb.com

Considering I have nearly 500 posts in the Sonic thread here, I haven't even dared look at the Sonic 4 stuff on Giant Bomb, actually... Though I should likely flesh out some of the pages for good Sonic games.

I post some, but not all of my reviews there. It's usually just my video reviews that go up day-and-date with my other places (latest one being Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing).

I don't blog much or anything else, though. I think I post a blog... once every... two or three weeks?

There are 2 games they play/discuss in the movie, go to each of their pages

I'm stumped on the remaining 3 items though

The third item is similar in nature to the second item

"Up and Atom" is a reference to Rainier Wolfcastle from The Simpsons. Rainier is a Hollywood star. Hint hint
 
The Cliched RPG Monsters Quest ("Monster Mash") is kind of ehhhh. I mean, I did Spiders, Wolves, Fairies, Wizards, Ghosts, Witches, Wraiths, Zombies, the undead...

None of which are apparently cliched enough!
 
Can someone tell me what in the jesus is going on? I listen to the Bombcast every week and have no idea what you guys are talking about. Quests? I just logged into my profile and a bunch of green boxes and status bars appeared. Someone mind giving me an idea of what this is?

They are definitely all in the platform list. I think clicking through every platform will net you multiple quest sets.

Quest system is ingenious because it's actually making us use giant bomb's features.

EDIT: When you click on "Follow this person?" sometimes the button changes to "Follow", other times it changes to "Stop Following". Anyone else get this?
 
Ahh, a little bit of exploring and I've figured it out now. This is pretty cool. An ingenious way for the bomb guys to get you to use the site. Nice.

It's definitely a mean one, and one most people probably aren't going to find easily. The quest description when you finally get it even seems to tease at the fact that it's basically a needle in a haystack. :lol
