Not bad video.

Two things wrong with it though.

They skate over a lot of the variants like Paridious and some of the more fruity MSX versions.

They show only the NES versions of games for some of earlier stuff - honestly, how hard would it have been to grab a copy of MAME and use that to capture footage of the arcade originals?

Later arcade Gradius / Saturn/PSX stuff gets hosed with only brief footage.

I can't find said realplayer codec on the site. There's a "Real Alternative" but it's different from what you advertised.

Real Alternative is what you want. It includes the great Media Player Classic (http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=82303&package_id=84358) which will play Real Media files, provided you have a codec pack such as Real Alternative installed.
