The International 2016 (Aug 3rd - 13th)

I guess Valve didn't test out their fantasy card system much, my gold IceIceIce card has gone a bit screwy.

Slardar was a not so great pick. I'm amazed they didn't take Drow since they already had Mirana and they were able to get an Invoker as well.

Slardar was fine I think, but with just a naked blink he's pretty ass - needs to be able to follow up or initiate, and he couldn't for the longest time cause the communication seemed like it was shit after rosh. 4v6 fight bot at the rax was pretty solid though. I think the bane's done more to hurt them tbh. Like yea it guarantees a shit lane for bat, but the other team has 1+ ways to break it on EVERY hero. Without his ult, bane has a pure damage nuke and that's pretty much it during team fights. Not even an AOE one like Dazzle/POTM

I just saw escape try to take a rax

Lol yea that was really legit.

I agree the Bane is pretty worthless, but they clearly wanted a lineup that thrives in the mid-game (no hard carry potential, Invoker and Mirana aren't great cores for the late game), and I think Drow secures them a massive early game advantage to win by the 30 minute mark.

Updated the OP with more Streams--or rather more language options for Twitch and the official TI YouTube account.

Yea, but they also have 2 heroes with guaranteed blinks, plus a Riki that'll be sucking Drow off too, basically making her aura irrelevant unless she's perfectly positioned.

Honestly, they should've been able to win before they shit the bed and lost all momentum/went in 1-by-1 hurrah, hurrah etc.

Jesus he has 3 kids already? Almost wish he'd get through, even last place money would go a long way in his country I bet.

I missed it, who was that?

EDIT: Kimo apparently. According to /r/DotA2 there is a local meme about his prowess in the Philippines.

XCTN did not in any way account for the Huskar, in combination with the other lanes.

Gonna need a miracle at this point, and I doubt ESC's gonna give 'em time to farm items up.

Yea, Timbersaw kinda counters him late game due to pure damage, but Huskar wrecks Timber early because Burning Spears completely nullifies Reactive Armor. ESC outdrafted them like crazy. Xctn should be proud of how they played throughout the qualifiers and against teams like Ehome and coL. I wish them the best of luck.

We now have our 16 main event teams! I updated the OP to divide the participating teams with those already eliminated--and plan on doing so throughout the tournament. Group Stage starts first thing tomorrow at 12:00pm EDT / 9:00am PDT.

Super glad that I started playing DotA and can understand what is going on the screen. Last year, I just screamed when my friends did but had no fucking idea what was going on.

So I was setting my fantasy cards for the next couple of days and checked the schedule to see who is playing when. Turns out there's a discrepancy in the schedule shown in the client.

On the fantasy challenge page, it shows that the group stages will be on 3rd/4th/5th August (3 days)

According to this schedule, both groups will play on all 3 days.

But when I checked the schedule of the tournament, it shows that the group stages are 3/4/5/6 August (4 days).

According to the second schedule, group A matches are on the 3rd/4th and group B matches are on the 5th/6th.

Need to know which of these is right to select cards accordingly.

Anyone know which of them is correct?
