Depends on who you listen to, I suppose. I don't think either of the games are bad. Perspective is everything, and on iOS, they're both fun games, for a while anyway. The first one is an Infinity Blade clone, but it has some cool unlockables. The second is a mash-up of the Arkham games and GTA. It's decent, more of a guilty pleasure than anything else, but for an iOS game, it's absolutely worth a buck.

Thanx, I ended up getting The Dark Knight Rises, enjoying it so far!!

Finished the God of Blades campaign and sinked hours already in eternal mode.
Game is really awesome and a real audio visual experience.
I'm loving every minute of it.
I'm now experimenting between the various swords...Inferna seems the best one for my play style to complete the campaign...but I'm not that sure in eternal mode anymore, being stuck at 255K.
Tried Whisper and Barbarox with mixed effects, trying Darkstar now.
Each sword has plus and cons, and it really changes the way you play (at higher levels, that is).
Eternal above wave 15 is incredible, boss fights are so tense.
I'm glad I followed my instinct...it will remain on my devices for a long time.
Oh...it supports iCloud perfectly, I didn't knew it and was pleasantly surprised when I installed it on iPhone and found all my swords unlocked and the campaign progress intact.

Just got £15 worth of iTunes credit. Looking for some good old-school point and click style adventures - e.g Monkey Island/Broken Sword. What's the GAF recommendations?

I think it usually takes a week?

Oh, good. Hope we see it soon.

Monkey Island 1 and 2, Broken Sword 1 and 2, Beneath a Steel Sky, and The Last Express was just released last week. Definitely check it out if you haven't played it already.

There's also a lot of TellTale stuff like both Puzzle Agent games, Machinarium is on there also.

There's also Sword & Sworcery but it's not like a typical adventure game.

I'm almost done with the campaign. I must be fair, so the game DOES get better by the third world. I'm not in love with it as you are, but I don't feel bad about my purchase anymore. It's good. Not great, but good. :)

Sorry I should have said when I gave Monkey Island and Broken Sword as an example I meant I already had them. Cheers for the heads up on The Last Express! Never did play it, think I'll be picking that one up.

Shame Beneath A Steel Sky doesn't have an iPad version. I don't really do much gaming on my phone anymore.

Yeah, I wish Steel Sky would get updated to being universal. Another one you could try is Yesterday which you can read about here:

I personally didn't care for it a whole lot but I seem to be in the minority thinking that.

Speaking of Beneath a Steel Sky, how is the iPhone version of that? Worth pickung up instead of just playing the (freeware) PC version? And what exactly has been remastered?

It really doesn't matter which one you play. It comes down to wanting it portable or on a large screen. Other than offering hints, I don't recall the iOS version really doing anything different.

Yeah I consider the first two worlds almost a tutorial (and yes...seeing the videos I understand how the game could look dull...which it isn't IMHO).
After you are done, start eternal; it's awesome...after the first 10 waves it's really tense and bosses are really epic.
Which sword are you using?

BTW, I'm not into these kind of things but I saw here on NeoGAF sometimes score attack competitions are held...this game IMHO (eternal mode) would be perfect....no iaps, just you and your ability.
Yes...you have first to unlock the swords...but nothing that could take more than 1-2 days.

Yeah, I just went back to it today, and I was having a good time with it as well. It seems to get better as you go, and the combat is kind of relaxing somehow. My only real issue with the game is the camera. It can be a hassle turning it around, and there doesn't seem to be an option to change the sensitivity.

I went running today, and on my way to start doing so I passed the reception of the sports center ; there I saw a group of children playing videogames. I walked slowly and close to them to see what they were playing, and noticed it was the Gunman Clive game.

I'm posting this because I remember a gaffer here worked on that game, and thought he'd be glad to read about it.

The End

What would you guys choose at the "best" Cave shooter on iOS?

My favorite on the Appstore is Deathsmiles because I prefer horizontal shooters and I love the "Smartphone Mode" that was added to the mobile version. There's collectibles and they randomly drop, kind of like a loot RPG or something.

But really, you can't go wrong with any of them.

Blind-bought The Last Express after reading about the concept and finding out it was even available on iOS. Anyone know how it performs on a first-gen iPad? I suppose I'll try it out today or tomorrow to see for myself - I mostly game on my 4s but based on the screens, it looks like something I might want a larger screen to work with.

BP2 Black Label. The shedding mechanic in original mode is bliss with touch controls. I could play it forever. Probably blindfolded. Think I still have the highest score that's not hacked :P

Zookeeper Battle keeps matching me up with people with a rate of 1800 to 2000, which is getting quite hard to keep winning. The folks with above 1900 are in the top 50000 players (edit: er oops I meant 50K), it is kind of ridiculous the # of people who are good at match 3. I think they updated the algorithm with the latest update to avoid matching people above a certain threshold because I suddenly got locked into this upper tier which is kind of fun and scary at the same time.

My rate now is hovering around 1800 but if I start losing too much it will drop back down to 1700s...

I've actually found that it's like there are battles that they set you up to either win or lose. Despite them saying that both players get the same bonuses, I've found plenty of times when I've dominated the first round, they've come back with a health powerup (or two) and defeated me when I've come across none and clearly outplayed them. There's something seriously wrong with the balance still (or people are cheating).

So, who else knew that Pastagames (the guys who did Rayman) are the same dudes behind Pix 'n' Love Rush? Just noticed this then, so I'm not surprised why it's polished as fuck.

Shiiieeet I didn't realize Yesterday is on iOS. I've been eyeing it on Steam but its like $30. Any word on Gemini Rue coming as well?

To quote everyone's 2nd fav. Boxer:
I GOT PAID!
Now to buy me some iOS games (namely Espagaluda 2, Ghost Trick, Montezuma 3 [Vita ver. addicted me ;.; ])
BTW Dodonpachi doesn't work on my iPhone 4 for some reason. I tap it on the main screen but it doesn't run.

I dunno...I bought the panties game and it's just not really clicking for me. It seems like a very average platformer and not much more than that.

It's more like a puzzle platformer. Not my favorite kind, but it's very polished, charming and plays well. It gets better with new powers. I'm enjoying it.

For example, level 1-7 I was trying to get the third star by only using gravity, yet I had to hit restart 5 times for my plan to work (it played out differently each time despite me doing nothing different).

This alone is enough reason for me never to try this game.

An addition to these excellent recommendations, get Yesterday, and Ghost Trick. There's realMyst too, though I'm not sure how good it is.

Actually, it specifically says that you don't get the same bonuses. You get the same grids of animals, and the same drops, but the bonuses are random so when you get binoculars they might get a heart, or vice versa, or any other combination.

So is Ghost Trick on the iTunes Store the FULL game? Cuz I got it for 'free', and whenever I try to update via the game's 'Buy more episodes' it tells me that there is no additional content.
Alright gonna go read back thru a few posts for some titles recommended to me, in the mean time I'd like recommendations on any recently added and good iOS games that I can purchase.
BTW anyone else prefer Montezuma 3 over Bejeweled Blitz?

weird... Ghost Trick on ios is just chapter 1 i think, and the rest of the chapters is dlc.

$10 for the whole thing.

maybe their servers are down.

Hmm I tried to find it on Capcom's website but it doesn't show up for me there either. Ah well $10 is a good price for this game for me ^_^;

Any word on when the PW Collection is gonna get released?

EDIT: Oh and how's Sonic and SEGA All-stars racing?
...and what's the difference between the various versions of Espgaluda? I more comfortable with the Smartphone mode.

Played about 3-4 hours of The Last Express today and I'm really enjoying it. I'm an adventure game fan but I've never played it before, and the atmosphere is awesome. The game is in real time taking place entirely (thus far) on a train and I love the fact that as I'm eavesdropping in on a conversation or having dinner with someone I know that other people are talking and interacting elsewhere and I'm missing out on it. It makes me really look forward to replaying the game.

I 3-starred every level! I didn't like angry birds at all but this game's excellent. The combination of platforming and creating your own car/plane/helicopter/rocket is something that I think is about to become a lot more popular now thanks to this game.

There is randomness involved on certain levels (doing something will work only like 50% of the time) but since the levels only last a matter of seconds once you know how to build your vehicle and what to do it's not that frustrating (and it is realistic). One unrealistic thing about the physics is that buoyancy decreases if you're touching something! Seriously Rovio, wtf?? Fortunately this doesn't affect the game much. Everyone should get this.

Wimp Who Stole My Panties verdict: Over-the-f***-hyped! It's good, but damn, the way the TA forum was gushing, you'd have thought Nintendo had published their first iOS platformer. Not even close...

Weren't Ossian Studios making an original iOS RPG?
I feel like it's been a year or more since our last update.
They're known for some Neverwinter Nights 1 and 2 adventure modules and even an official expansion or two, IIRC.
