a whut?

I'd like to ask the same question. Any recommendation for boosts are very welcome.

I frequently use Starting Cat, Double Start and either Multiplier +10, Mega Boost or Double Good. That combo is somewhere around 2500 coins to use. If you can only use 2, Double Start and Starting Cat are great for getting into early megazones.

Tip with the cats - they're really only effective when they're at the top or middle of the tower. Once they're at the bottom, swipe them out to a monster. You get whatever that monster's power is for the full diamond-strength time.

Also, when you're using one Monster Power, don't swipe another shiny to a monster unless it's a better power. I've seen some videos where folks swipe one to activate the Green power, then immediately swipe another shiny to another monster. They don't stack unless you swipe to the same-color monster.

So for the Cats-should I be trying to get a combo with them? Or swipe them out to the monster?

Combo with them.

Then when the cat is the bottom block in the tower, use him for a monster power.

Why do you want the cats not at the bottom? Doesn't the cat transform everything above it to a higher "form" and let you get crazy chains of diamonds? Forgive my question, since I am but a man at 2.1 billion points bowing at the feet of the master.

I assume because the potential for matches in the bottom third is much lower? I'm not going to embarrass myself by stating my high score in this company.

I am literally shocked at how good Bad Piggies is. Like...threadworthy good?

I'm only 2/3rds through the first "chapter" and it is getting tough. The solutions are genius though, and so satisfying!
It's definitely thread worthy! I'm hoping it leads to a lot of platformers with realistic physics on all platforms. So developers, get to work. I recommend you rip off bad piggies but put more emphasis on the platforming. Include parts to allow you to build submarines and even flying submarines (hot air balloon with big sandbad attached) and rockets that can be turned off (for multiple jumps). Oh, and fix the placement of the buttons so that the controls are more like a traditional platformer.

Jesus. That's as blatant a Zelda as anything Gameloft has done.

Gameloft have never made anything with production values that high.

But at least they don't fu k up the controls as hard as that I guess. Say what you like about their shitty games, but at least it doesn't hurt your hand to control them.

Btw I finished Walking Dead ep 2 this evening and godDAMN that episode was specfuckingtacular. I was yelling at the iPad multiple times during the play through and I was legitimately upset by the time the ending rolled around. Usually I'll only play these games the once but I really want to see what would happen if I did things differently. Although maybe I shouldn't, it might break the magic for me.

iPad really is the ultimate platform for these kinds of games, it's almost like reading a book in a lot of ways. Narrative driven, mechanic light, gripping as a motherfucker. More please!

Also, how big is the app gonna be by the time ep5 comes out? It's pushing a gig already and I can't delete it till I'm finished. That's a lot of space to be taking up.

Oceanhorn looks good, but dull and boring unfortunately. We'll see.

It doesn't matter. The magic will break by episode 3 anyway. :)

I love The Walking Dead and it's fantastic writting, but I no longer have the illusion of changing the story in any meaningfull way.

Aw man say it ain't so :( did you get that impression from a single play through or did you play multiple times to get to that conclusion?

By episode 3 my mind was already trained, so I could foresee some things judging by the fact they couldn't possibly do a "true" alternate path. But yeah, by replaying the episodes and doing different choices I could confirm that conclusion. It's more obvious in episode 3. Though even with a single play through of episode 3 you will realize that a few big decisions you made before don't matter all that much.

It's all about the journey though. So while the impact of the decisions doesn't have a lot of weight in the long run, it at least provide different ways to define Lee's personality and interaction with the group.

Daaaaaamn, so good! (and BECAUSE it's a Zelda clone).
I didn't like the DS Zeldas so maybe I will be lucky with this one!

Funny because this is designed similar to both those games, with the camera somewhat top-down. I look forward to it, but I hope it goes the extra mile and is more than hacking monsters and throwing vases. They've got the first few notes of Zelda down, but we'll have to wait and see if there's really any substance there.

I have 3 promo codes for our Twang the Fox game (developed by Conix Games) to give away. Cute vertical climber with a lot of depth. This recently got an update to support the full iPhone 5 res, so if you are looking for games to support your swanky new phone, this is one (and fun to play even if you don't have a new phone).

First 3 who post they want a code and who include the icon for the game in their post will get a code.

Edit: Better.

Oh, and I'd like a code. Obv :)

This is indeed why. It's harder to make matches with them at the bottom so it's better to use them for a monster power at that point.

Indeed. The real test is only later.

I'm embarrassingly LTTP on this but, god, Ravenmark is so good. It's like I just stumbled across a long lost Saturn SRPG or something.

Once you get your castle, you'll get a jillion congrats from your people, but the game doesn't technically end. You can keep going until you buy all the other shit and still play the puzzle areas.
I'm actually at the point where I'm just in it for the money. I've bought everything, run out of men to hire (you can only hire 30 individually, not counting the hotels etc.) and basically just do runs in the mines to get cheap gold and diamonds (so that only three coal/silver are required) then sell those because you can't use them for anything else.

Currently around 45k gold. I think I'll quit when I hit 50, but keep it on the phone when (/if) they get extra content.

I'm pretty amazed with Super Hexagon but is hard as hell. My best time is 19.42s in the lowest level... My god!

I'm not sure if I actually enjoy playing Hexagon, or if it just pisses me off so much I want to prove I can do better that I keep playing. I never do better though:( And I had to stop playing when I got the new iPhone out of fear I might throw my new toy at the wall...

Yep.
It's a possibility :D

I really got mad when I reach, for sixth time the 19.42s time... exactly!!!, and, for what I've read, the next level is at 20 seconds.

It's very frustrating sometimes. The game is not enjoyable, the gameplay is very simple and quick to enjoy, is more about the challenge.
But for 0'79€ is pure gold. C'mon, a coffee costs me 1€ everyday!!. At least deserves to give it a chance

I'm hoping Super Hexagon gets updated soon. I'm pretty bad at it myself, but every time I lose because I don't hit on the game itself and hit on the "letterboxing" I get annoyed and stop :(

We need impressions for NBA 2K13.

Anyway which one game should I buy at this very moment? Walking Dead, Lili or The Last Express?

I hope this means NHL 2k13 is coming out too, but 2k11 was... uh... not THAT good. Still, the only hockey game on the market would make it an insta-buy for me.

Here to whore Prevail again because the scope and gameplay look absolutely amazing for an iOS game.

Latest vid shows off just how much of a sandbox it will offer. Think 2D GTA but in space.

Latest vid.
