It appears to share more in common with Temple Run than the arcade game.

Looks pretty crap, imo.
But that could just be me.

That actually doesn't look too bad... not as good as the original (maybe it'll be an unlockable?) but still not 'orrible.

Also, Bejewelled 3 is a good game? I'd loves me another match 3 title.
Fwiw my fave match 3 games in order are:

1. Wargames
2. 100000
3. Puzzle Craft
4. Dungeon Raid
Wargames *is* great, but once you've finished it, what else is there? It loses a massive amount for not having replayability IMO... same with Puzzle Craft. At least Dungeon Raid has that. I'm also inclined to think that I prefer DR because you can be on an amazing run but literally lose your life in a second. With Puzzle Craft and Wargames, you can always either restart where you died with minimal loss in overall game progress and the time wasted is relatively small. You ruin a good run that's lasted for hours in DR, you're fucked.

Might not be what you want to hear, but - we adjusted some of the pricing on coins (might not be permanent). So it's a little more affordable to stuff the bank for now.

So, can we expect boosts to be cheaper, or do you mean it will be easier to accumulate coins.

Sounds like the real world pricing on coin packs has been (temporarily?) reduced while the ingame coin costs have remained the same.

Adult Swim can do that from there side independently. Think we have to do ingame store coin prices from our side.

Nowhere near as big as mine?

Anyway, if you had to recommend either Wargames or Dungeon Raid to someone with zero backlog, which would you choose... a game that they'll be done with within a few days (like myself) or one that's equally as good (IMO, anyway) but lasts far, far, far longer? Because that's how I'd organise my list.

Don't get me wrong, I adored WarGames, but there is literally no replay value in it whatsoever.

I'd recommend the one that can be finished in a few days so they can move onto more iOS goodness!

So I've had TWEWY on my iPad for a while but I just started seriously playing it last night. I found it off putting at first, but now I'm totally hooked.

The combat is quite fun, though sometimes it can be frustrating when your commands get mixed (hard to dodge attacks of first boss.) I'm on W2 D3 now, and AppAnalytics says I've played 7hrs 25 mins. I have to sleep, but I really wanna play more and find out what happens next.

The only thing that bothers me is that the game is not retina-enabled for the iPad. The graphics are quite jaggy and blocky, but you get used to it after a while. I realize this is a DS port, but it woulda been nice to have everything redrawn for 2048x1536 at this price tag.

You're a strange fellow. For me, there's incentive in wanting to get a high score in a match-3 game rather than just trudge through a story. Dungeon Raid handles this perfectly, whereas WarGames, Puzzle Quest and (I get the impression from) 100000000 have a distinct endgame, not actually providing any reason to keep playing (as good as the mechanics can be).

I prefer to finish a game when I'm well and truly done with the mechanics, rather than when the game tells me to be finished with it.

I gave up watching that video about half way through, for some reason whenever people decide to do these quick look kind of videos for sports games they always end up trying too hard to be funny.

I bought the game and while I've only played one game so far I found it to be a fair bit better than last years version but that's probably because last years version was pretty horrible.

Tower of Fortune has been updated for iPhone 5.

Having recently given this a serious shot, I'll warn that game turns to a nasty grind at the end. Probably takes like 5 hours of playing the same 300-1000 gold battles to get enough to unlock the last gate, and the bosses get stronger each time you replay them, so you quickly hit a dead end. The slow pace of the spins and animations doesn't help either. It was fun for a little while, but a shame to see it turn in to the mess it becomes at the end. I gave up long before hitting anywhere near the final gold to get the final battle unlocked.

King Cashing however, seems much better with the time I spent on it, it's faster, and there are no persistent health stats to worry about, if you die, you try again. The whole start from scratch in ToF is dumb anyway, because you just carry a half dozen instant resurrect potions on you anyway, so you never need to worry about dying for good. The map in King Cashing having each battle as a separate game and the loot in it is much better imo. You also get three reels instead of just one, so there's a little more going on too. I think it can be finished in just a few hours too, as there's people who speedrun it, going for fewest battles to completion.

Yeah I wasn't big on Tower of Fortune at all really.

Zaxxon looks like not a lot of fun to be honest, but that's made me think... why aren't games from that kind of perspective coming out on iOS?

ie something like Child of Eden? I haven't played it, but it looks as though it'd be well suited to a touch screen (maybe)

Seem the iPhone 5 update has really messed up Tower of Fortune. Non-retina display assets and the battle UI is all jumbled up making it impossible to play.

Man, I've been fucking begging for an Every Extend-style game on iOS for ages, but so far... nothing :/

I've always assumed that BJ3 is one of those games that almost everyone already owns, but yes, it's good. So, so good, it's my favorite puzzle game. I put nearly 40 hours into the PC version before buying it for my iPhone, and it's still as fresh as ever. It might not do anything particularly novel as a match 3 game, but it's a PopCap game so the presentation is fantastic and the alternate modes like Butterfly and Diamond Mine add a fun twist to the standard gameplay. If I could only own one game for my phone, it would be BJ3 without a doubt.

The one downside is that it can kill productivity at work. Like, I'm at work right now and I actually just took a break from Bejeweled to make this post.

Tentacles looks pretty cool. Any impressions?

Definitely worth it. It's the best exclusive on WP7. It's a shame they didn't make it work with Game Center since it has achievements already.

Edit- reading on touch arcade it seems like MS policy is to not use GC if they're porting a game. Bummer.

Thanks, will give it a try. TA seems excited about it, but after Wimp Who Stole My Panties, I wanted to ask here first. It's not the dollar, it's the space. I think the game is just under a half a gig installed, so I have to erase a few things. Wanna make sure it's worth it.

I don't want to defend their ways but it was not a video review, it was just some gameplay.

Yeah, it's kind of their version of a Quick Look-type deal. I don't usually care for their banter, but the fact that they comment on how the games work is usually helpful.

TWEWY actually was redrawn (or resampled from the original artwork) for iOS, but at iPhone 4 resolution. iPad seems to have been an afterthought.

I'm actually wondering if the iPhone version has a larger FOV, or if there's pillarboxing. No letterboxing in the iPad version at all - and iPad is at the same screen aspect ratio as the original game.

I cannot even see Bejewled 3 on the store? (only the Mac store)

Looks like it's labeled as Bejeweled without the 3, I guess I just refer to it as Bejeweled 3 since it's the same thing as the PC/console version of that game minus a couple modes. I'm looking at the app store on my iPhone, though.

Pretty decent little game Rebuild on sale for $0.99 at the moment. It's a zombie survival strategy turn based style game where you rebuild a town to keep the survivors alive. I've only played it once, but it seems like good fun. No IAP bullsh to deal with or anything.

The Amazing Spiderman on sale for a buck atm... Worth it? How does it compare to the batman games?

I'm not sure what to think of Burrito Bison. It's a very pretty game-but there doesn't really seem to be much gameplay involved-you just keep bouncing and hope you don't stop. The powerups you can purchase will add some interactivity with the various gadgets, but other than that, every run seems to be based on chance.

Rebuild is great. Worth every penny.

Read nothing but good things about it, but I had trouble getting into it. Seemed kinda random and doesn't do much in terms of giving you basic direction.

uhhhh revolt?

uhhh 5.99 no thanks.

Tentacles looks pretty cool. Any impressions?

Question for you, how can I see newly added games in Itunes? I realised that I didn't see Tentacles because it's not in the "new and noteworthy" yet. I don't see a category or sorting option in the game section of Itunes in order to display something like "newly added games" or something...

Is there ANY way to delete larger game apps but not lose my progress should I decide to re-install them at a later time?
