I tried Carmageddon on iPad2, am I doing it wrong, the car just skids uncontrollably whenever I try to turn almost regardless of the speed, I tried with analog steering in the default (low) sensitivity and with both digital and analog gas/break. It almost feels like the controls in some other racing games become when you hold down both gas and break together or something.

It helps you powerslide into pedestrians!

Adds to it IMO. Loving it. And there's so much content! Feels rare these days to keep scrolling down at the list of levels, and not one of them being IAP-related. Incredible that this game was free.

There is a change character button but it gives me no options. Same for the dialog choices, background and decorations. I don't see anywhere to buy them either, but I've seen other players with them

That's probably just for when you get to master and your animals gets hats and stuff.

Apparently you are a liar like me because I had the same issue.

Is there a trick to the controls?

If there is, I haven't found it (and I've successfully played other tilt racers like RR2, Sonic & Sega All-Stars, Final Freeway 2R)...

Do you also have an iPad2? Maybe it's bugged for that? It doesn't feel right even considering the comments about upgrades etc.

Edit: digital steering is far more workable, I've managed to win the first few races. I hope they fix tilt steering as I'd far prefer that.

going through my backlog and played some Little Crane today. It's pretty good. You have to do simple tasks using the levers like you're driving a crane.

The physics and graphics sort of remind me of hard drivin.

In regards to Lunar Silver Star Story, is there an iPad/iPhone hybrid version? I just see two separate versions, and that makes me sad. :/ Additionally, how is it? I remember loving it when I was a kid...

Hmmmm no, there is just one version, and its universal with iCloud support too.

???

Thank God I didn't have to pay for Carmageddon. It totally blows.

I didn't even like it in the 90s, and the iPhone controls are terrible.

I am an idiot, apparently. I need to remember to click past this.

Anyway. How is it?

It's been ages since I used iTunes on PC, but as far as I can tell it's the same app (the plus icon means it is universal). It just list it as an iPhone compatible and an iPad one.

its decent. controls are about as you expect from a port of a psx game to a system with no controls, but i like it.

it's way better than the assorted square enix ports at the very least, for a fraction of the price.

Just bought infinity blade 2, it's my first iPad purchase. There's to many games I wanna buy, but I don't want to overload myself and not finish the game. Also got carmageddon and its pretty fun, the car doesn't turn worth shit though.

Also I purchased "the new iPad" is that still considered an iPad 2?

and it seems like there will be updates to improve upon controls/bugs/misc.

"The New iPad" says pretty much nothing. If you bought it after April this year, it's most likely an iPad (3rd generation). It is not an iPad 2.

That's how the original game plays... if you play with digital controls. Once you come to grips with it, you can appreciate what they've done with the handling a lot more. I haven't tried analogue, and I don't intend to. The PC version played fine with the keyboard.

I mean, there's no retry or any kind of interface when you die!
Happens to me on my iPad 2, I think the screen is cut off, maybe it doesn't work on non-retina devices?
Ah I see, I didn't know that. Yeah, that's probably related to resolution or something, it's mentioned in the game's App Store description that it can only be played on "iPhone and iPod with retina screens".

edit: this is what should show up when you die

update on me playing devil's attorney

unlocked the '2nd arc'. I am quite impressed, a lot of options to 'spec' your attorney guy.

Game gets better the more I delve into it.

Really excited for True Skate tonight.

And that Star Command gameplay video looked fantastic.
I've just bought it (I'm sure I'd seen it before, but maybe that was a different game) but had completely forgotten about it until now. Playing it... man, you'll love it. Only $2 and it feels just like fingerboarding.

The guys who made it are Australian as well, and also made Jet Car Stunts. It was that last point that sold the game for me... I loved JCS.

Edit: Link to it on the .au App Store, if that helps.

My model is MC705LL I think it's 3rd gen. Anyways I put like 3 hours into infinity blade 2 and so far I'm really impressed with all the armor and items in the game, I just got some newspaper weapon I'm looking forward to trying out. I feel like I suck at the game though, it took 6 rebirths to kill the boss at the top of the tower.

You probably have a 3rd generation. Did it say iPad 2 on the box?

You may not be able to tell if you have nothing to compare it to, but how sharp does text look on your iPad? I'm guessing you know this but higher screen resolution is the biggest new feature in the "new iPad" over the 2. How/ why did you make such an expensive purchase without knowing which model you were getting?
