Played the first two stages of Epoch and ir runs surprisingly very smooth on my iphone4. The loading times at the beginning are a bit long for my taste, but it looks good - i`ll get back to it on the iPad though.

Yeah, I'm playing on a 3GS, and though the initial load for the game is a bit long, it runs very good -- definitely better optimized than Infinity Blade. Of course, it doesn't look quite as good. I'm really enjoying this game, though. Again, more than Infinity Blade, but that's just because of my personal taste, I suppose. Love the little text messages you find in each level -- has a kind of Resident Evil quality in that regard. And of course, you can replay levels to gain extra XP.

Just a heads up to anyone playing this here, it's just been updated.

Beside the bug fixes, now it's easier to get credits, used to buy boosters (it's a CCG). Also the daily limit has been increased, meaning you can get up to 5 boosters a day. Which I think it's pretty nice for those than don't want to invest in the IAP. It takes 10 wins to achieve this, but you also get credits for losing.

I haven't been paying that much attention to other games being released, since I'm loving it. That game is extremely deep and the meta has shifted a ton in this last month as people find new winning strategies.

Again I would recommend it to anyone that has even a passing interest in CCGs.

And I swear I don't work for Ubi

Wait, Triple Town turns don't regenerate when the app is closed? What the hell kind of bullshit is this.

Seems bugged to me, or maybe im not understanding it either. Sometimes I load it up and there are a bunch of turns. Other times, I load it and it's at 0.

Mmmmmm, I have been waiting very patiently for that to drop in price. Will pick it up when I get home. It looks like a lot of fun.

Picked it up at $2.99 and it was definitely worth it. The art is incredibly charming, and the game is a hell of a lot of fun and challenging. Definitely recommended at 99¢, especially with the new update adding a new level and Game Center support. Get on it, GAF!

I'm sold. See you chumps on the leaderboards tonight! Wario don't get this.

This game is amazing. Fantastic value for $.99. It has a ton of content.

Awesome game-they have achievements in game-but no Game Center support. The developers are really cool too and post over at the TouchArcade forums too. There's a new patch that's currently awaiting Apple approval.

How's Pocket League Story?

Guys, Kingdom Rush is GREAT. If you're not burnt out on TD games. Got it last week and don't regret it. Lots of content and super polished. Definitely one of my favs.

Fun game but I am definitely getting my ass kicked the further into the game I get. You definitely need to work out the right strategy on each level to get the maximum stars.

What are you thoughts on Minecraft Pocket Edition?

I've never played Minecraft.
I read that it was gimped but they plan to update it.

The game is basically just the creation mode and there's not even all the blocks available.
They released it pretty much like on PC when it came out (there was nothing and everything went in gradually after updates).
So yeah, right now it's not worth the price entry if you can play on PC. Also, if they do like on PC, the price point will actually increase after some updates. I dunno if they will do this on IOS but it might just be like on PC -- a game that gets more expensive to buy over time. In this mindset it might be intelligent to buy it now on IOS.

How is ZDay Survival Simulator? It just dropped to 99 cents.

I got it when it came out, and it's worth the 99 cents.

It has an interesting theme and presentation with the graphic novel artwork and rock music, but there's a number of spelling and grammar errors as well. It's a great concept that will hopefully be fleshed out and added to with updates.

IB1 isn't as bad as IB2 but it's still bad in that the game is clearly designed to push the player into buying consumable IAP coins if they want to see the "free" additional area without excessive grinding to get the necessary weapon.

I'm done with the series for this reason. Deleting it felt so good.

If you're not terminally burned out on tower defense games, Kingdom Rush (iPad only) just dropped to $0.99. Haven't played it yet but it looks aite.

If you aren't burnt out on TD games, the recently released Defender's Quest is amazing. Not iOS unfortunately, but the demo (first 2 chapters of the game) runs in your web browser and it runs on any PC/Mac/etc. If you even remotely enjoy the genre or RPGs, you should check it out. It takes TD and throws a heavy mix of RPG at it. Very nicely presented, with a few new twists to the gameplay, even for TD veterans. And the overworld map reminds me a little of those zoomed out composites of Zelda: A Link to the Past, so bonus points for that.

Edit: What I played of Kingdom Rush online is quite good too, so I support recommending looking in to that as well.

That...that is awesome news. Any chance of Rugby League Live making a Vita appearance? I don't mind Union, but League...League would be ace on the go.

No idea, sorry. We don't really have any visibility on what is happening on the Rugby League side these days.

Well, you've got a sale from me.

EDIT: As long as it doesn't include a damn online pass...because if I import from NZ or Aus, I won't be able to redeem the pass on a US account. So, assuming there's a US version?

I find the Quest interesting, and have been meaning to play it for months now.

Any good advice before starting a game?

The whole expansions thing seems dumb and complicated, but I will keep an open mind.

Ok, so Epoch or Puzzle Juice?

For a grand total of $2? Both. I mean....why not? The only thing they have in common is that they're iOS games, so I can't imagine trying to say which is the better buy.

Most iOS games are so cheap, it's odd that people quibble over the prices. 5 years ago you couldn't get games of the caliber of either title for $2. Maybe Puzzle Juice could have been done on Pocket PC's or Palm Pilots, but it would have been more than $1.

No online pass imposed by HES or Sidhe. Has never even been raised. And as far as I know it is region free (we can confirm that later).
