so if I do a cloud setup on my new iPad I still can connect it to my computer for app installs?

I would prefer to be able to do both local backup and cloud backup but when I tried it (alternating backups between computer and cloud) on my old iPhone 3GS it only lead to problems

A cloud backup wouldn't be able to install the apps that have been removed from the store/purchase lists since they "don't exist". You could install those manually from your local iTunes afterwards but they would be without save games or personal settings intact.

A local backup would be able to retain settings and such even for those apps if local copies of those apps were kept.

Personally I have both cloud and local iTunes backups since many apps that I have bought have ceased to exist (iMAME or iDOS for example). Not sure what problems you speak of, when time comes to restore its simply a matter of picking from where to restore from.

Real Racing 2 HD has been updated for the new iPad and now delivers 4xMSAA on top of native 2048x1536. Will be interesting to see how it runs.

Infinity Blade II just mentions adding support for the higher resolution, so no confirmation of whether it's native res rendering. Their previous statements seem to confirm native resolution support, though.

Starfront is a pretty decent Starcraft clone. Its definitely more suited to the ipad though.

I got a message from iTunes that the iPhone was synced to another computer and the phone needed to be "reinstalled" to work with iTunes on my computer.

Well I'm obviously assuming you haven't reinstalled Windows/OSX/iTunes or any combination thereof that would disassociate your library with your Apple ID and/or computer being authorized in iTunes prior to trying to backup or restore your device.

Should that happen one can simply "transfer purchases" to your existing iTunes library prior to syncing by right clicking the device while it's connected in iTunes.

I still don't see how a game like that could take up 1gb. In fact, a lot of games on the app store take up WAY too much unnecessary space.

Ok this game is amazing. It's gotten to me to make my first IAP even though technically the IAP is the full game. Anyway BUY IT! It's like a Kairosoft game except instead of tapping on menus you level up urself by actually playing soccer and you get to manage ur contract, personal life etc.

I pulled the trigger since it's only $1.06. This better be good!

Edit: It's solid and definitely worth a buck, reminds me a lot of a much simpler version of Inzauma Eleven. I do wish I got more touches though.. plus the player ratings are brutal!

I you upgrade Pace you get faster and are thus better able to anticipate IMHO.

Edit: you can also buy boots with the ingame-currency to boost your stats selectively and save money instead of buying the allrounder-boot

Yep. It looks better than the console versions of COD aswell (and is higher res). Too bad about the touch controls though.

I was 100% sure this statement was bullshit. I just got the game, took a quick look at both the campaign and multiplayer and holy shit this is impressive. I had seen screens and videos etc but this is really damn solid and you're actually right for at least some portions of the game... Amazing. Still coming to grips with the controls but I'm sure I'll get used to em. What an impressive game, absolute steal for a buck.

Kingdom Rush is better than all of those which you mentioned. The Creeps! is also a very good tower defence game.

Anomaly Warzone Earth is a really fun and unique TD game. It's pretty much reverse TD.

When you start playing at a higher level there will be up to three players for the opposition to pass to, the one who will get the ball will have a little bubble appear over their head.

I subscribe to Wired and I think their digital edition is pretty great, I look forward to it every month. New issue should be out any day now.

I found going with a right hand 'claw grip' works great. Pretty much use your index finger to aim and use your thumb for shooting and scoping.

This pretty much allows quick scoping. A bit tiring on your left wrist, but it did improve my performance somewhat.

It's not worth it anywhere, totally regret purchasing it for iPad2 despite the hype(rbole). Deleted it ages ago for the space it held.

I guess it might make a (kinda, not very) neat tech demo for a buck but eh, you can spend that amount on far better things too.

The Last Express was evidently a (critcally acclaimed) Point & Click adventure game from the late 90's. Created by the same person who did Karateka and POP. I never played it as I was burned out on those type of games by then.


Also, announced was that Twinsen's Adventure will also be released on Iphone/Android.
