man, PSO 2 could potentially have a huge userbase on iOS. hoping for the best, great great news as a PSO/PSU fan. *fistpump*

I feel your pain. virtual button-controlled games tend to suck. Bad. Elemental Rage does NOT suck. sometimes your fingers loose position of where the jump/action buttons are, but for the most part, the game works surprisingly well and is one of the best I've played on the platform.

Even over the other games on that list that i gave, I'd still recommend giving Elemental Rage a shot.
 
King of Dragon's Pass is still too expensive for my tastes, but I got an email saying it'd dropped to $7.99 for those interested. Supposedly quite good.
 
New Star Soccer is insidious. It's like the H5N1 of iOS games. I don't even like football and I've played this damn thing non-stop since Friday.

Showed a couple of guys in the office who are football fans and they immediately leapt at it. This afternoon we were all talking in football metaphors and comparing players.

It's evil.

Anyone having trouble with Monsters Ate My Condo just locking up for no good reason? The tower just gets stuck and the score just keeps going. Mario should I have to file a bug report?

NSS was giving me horrible flashbacks to Baseball Superstars where my character would randomly fall ill so that I'd have to basically pay to get their in-app currency to buy a healing item. I don't think it's anywhere near as bad, but it wasn't exactly clear that the English league would be more difficult.

NSS is probably the first ios game in which I swear out loud.

why even bother trying to go for an assist when the AI is so awful? Goalie AI are garbage so you usually can make some insane shots (probably just US though lmao).

The problem is when you're benched. It's almost impossible to get back on the team (at least when you're still a low earner), and when you do, the girlfriend bitches about the club and then the boss hates you. The only option I see is to pay real money for the in-game credits so I can spend it on juice which gives you energy to improve the relationships with the boss and the girlfriend. And that's bullshit.

The other problem with being benched is that you get few passing opportunities, and even with 4-5 passes that you nail, you still get a low grade and reduced relationship with the boss (and even fans). Of course, the reason you get few opportunities is because the girlfriend has already pissed off the team. But in order to improve the relationship with the team, you have to ... yeah.

The game was great before the girlfriend appeared. And it's been a nightmare afterwards. Where's the break up option?

When you're benched, just sit out the game and then next game you're back as a starter with full energy? You really only need to spend time with the gf every 5,6 games to keep her happy, and then just buy juice to refresh energy before the game. I think I only miss like 1 game tops per season not as a starter and now have all stats & happiness maxed (apart from free kicks, screw that) at age 22. At the beginning, ignore raising skills and save money for juice, the. Slowly try to save money for better property, which will allow you to use less juice and to save money again. I've really lnly started raising skills these last 2 seasons. Also played in England my whole career.

Edit: also never had to pay for ingame-stars... Sometimes the team can get frustrating, but as long as your team likes you, you can usually get enough chances to get a good rating even if you lose. My priority list would be:

A) Always be a starter/have energy up
B) Try to max team happiness
C) keep boss/fan happiness at least at 30% so they don't influence you negatively
D) Try saving money for property or drinks, nothing else until you can always be nearly at 100% after each game
E) hang out with gf after a few games, make sure to have enough money to buy juice after

Once you have good property and are 100% after each game, you can usually get in 2 things (happiness and/or skill) before being at 0, and earnings of 1 game is enough to buy 1 juice, so then you go Game -> 2 things -> juice -> game etc.

Only if the app is universal. I believe these are noted with a + symbol in the App store. Sadly, most of the games I've bought on my iPhone would need to be re-bought on my newly purchased iPad. It sucks. They should at least do discounted pricing or something.
 
I just want to mention, if you haven't downloaded Super Stickman Golf yet, do so! The game is freaking awesome, and I'm having a blast playing the multiplayer. And it's free.

Yep, this game is one of the better ones on the iPad. Looks great too - nice and crisp!

EDIT: Also as someone above mentioned - their other game 'Lunar Racer' is also currently available for free.

Yeah, I'm new to iOS this week and this is one of my favorites so far. So addicting. Can't beat free either!
 
Today I showed my mother Angry Birds, Where's My Water, Cut the Rope and Bejeleweed. She hated all of them, except Angry Birds, which she loved.

Now, I'm on the hater camp concerning Angry Birds. I just don't see the appeal, but they are clearly doing something right, because so much people love it.

Got Angry Birds Space through freemyapps and... I'm kinda enjoying it! Since I never liked the others, I guess that means something for haters like me.
 
How is 100 Trials? I like the visuals and mechanics of 100 Rogues, but Rogue like RPG's aren't for me, I need something more tangible. Is it like the Challenge mode in 100 Rogues?
