I've 100% completed the game until then with the best ship, modules and weapons. Might buy a hauler and grind out some trading millions to bank.
Itching for another game like this on iOS.
Say, is there any way to circumvent all the tedious real-time transportation?

I feel like I have spent 70% of the game moving from gate to gate to station to gate to station to gate to gate to gate…

It kills the game. I might spend an entire commute just getting to the next waypoint for a mission.

Build yourself a Khador Drive (not for sale anywhere). Later on there's a ship with one built-in.

I remember someone mentioning some app where every day (?) you can get a free app by downloading like 3 other apps. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

What's the word on the Fabled Lands games?

All I know is that the original books are amongst the most revered choose-your-own-adventure/game-books around written by some of the giants of the genre, including Dave Morris.

I want to buy the app, but am put off by the fact that some of the routes will be cut off as the gamebooks are all interconnected, but only two so far have been released.
It may be worth waiting for all of them to be released so you can enjoy it as one huge open game.
If you do buy it, go for Fabled Lands II Gold Edition, which includes both books.

In the meantime you can download a free PDF of Dave Morris's Heart of Ice here:

Spellsword looks fun, I'll buy it later. Glad I clicked the iTunes link because when I saw the name mentioned earlier in the thread I thought it was one of those word games like SpellTower. Lol. Nothing against those but I usually avoid them by default since I'm not a native speaker.

Been playing Chaos Rings lately (the first one), it's decent. Good enough RPG that scratches that itch and the systems are simple but interesting. Visually great too, one thing you can't fault SE of is half-assing the production values.

Oh, damn, I guess it's not available in the US.

I got a notification from them that they were having some sort of issue and were trying to correct the issue with Apple.

Recently Apple has cracked down on Apps that use your UDID especially if it's used to track, not totally sure if it is related to this, but I had an app similar to this and Apple kicked them off the store. I am pretty sure they use the same process as FreeMyApps but because that's a website it has to ask permission to install that plugin.

Please Capybara Games, remember me.

Why M&M:Clash of Heroes HD is not on the iPad?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

I would kill for it, and it would be perfect for the platform.

I turned on my 360 after like 3 years....downloaded and rented almost all the games I thought could interest me since then and Clash of Heroes is the only one I really want (on iOS, purely for convienece...I do not play on home console or PC anymore).

Why, WHY?

Oh okay. Well hopefully they fix it soon, cause right now, it won't let me download it.

Ritual sacrifice for games.

reasons like this are why i keep my IPAs stored on a hardrive. i was looking for the app so i ccould get the extra codes on my phones(for GAF), noticed it wasnt in store and just sync'd from itunes.

LOL...maybe it's just my poor English (not my primary language); I would never kill anyone for anything but I think it was pretty clear.

But seriously...the game could rock on iOS and perfectly at home with touch controls.

I'm actually surprised it hasn't been released on iOS.

Chaos Rings 2 takes a giant shit on the originals

I'd rank

CR2 > Omega > CR1

How do auto-updates work on iOS -- do apps ever auto-update?

Tangentially, I have auto-update selected for newsstand stuff (New Yorker, Economist) but it doesn't auto-update either.

I don't think Instapaper auto-updates.

DOES ANYTHING AUTO-UPDATE!?

Good to know, I'm certainly grabbing it down the road. I got CR1 and Omega during the last price drop and CR2 is already appshopped for whenever SE feels like it and/or when I'm done with the first two.

Anyone finding themselves liking Spellsword or Super Crate Box, 8-bit Ninja is pretty fun too. I liked it a lot more than SCB, which I thought was tedious, alwways having to fight the controls. I haven't played Spellsword yet though. Seems a bit deeper than SCB.

Only Newsstand apps can autodownload new issues, and it might only be when plugged in, I don't remember. Economist said they don't have the feature yet, it will come in an update.

Apps won't ever auto-update.

Ah bummer -- yeah I'm kinda surprised at least NYT won't auto-update guess it's up to the app developer though. At some point I'd really like everything including apps to just be zapped to my iPad.

Doesn't auto-update as to not inconvenience people with data caps etc. is my guess. Not to mention the fact that devs can be assholes with their app updates. I wouldn't want to auto-update Tetris...

Kingdom Rush looks even better now after the retina update though I've already burned all my stars so I won't be able to check out the Heroes for a while unless I start a new game. One of the few games I thought really didn't need the retina since it already looked quite crisp but I'll take it.

It'd be easy to just give an option for us non-plebes.

Seriously. I bought it a few days ago and thought it was already retina-ready.

Damn.

It's not exactly what you're after, but have you played Chronosgear?

So, people in here like Crimsonheart?

Humans & Demons have fought to dominate this WORLD for a long time.
Both RACES denied on each others Existence and Dignity.
NOT only there are TWO KINDS of RACES there was one RACE that was ARBITRATOR between the two races.
Because of this Humans spelled out for the Dragons to go to sleep, and the WAR started again.
YOU and YOUR 5 CHARACTERS need to SAVE the WORLD!!!

It has a 290 page thread on TA as well, what's the deal with it? why is it better than Inotia and Zenonia (both KRPG trash imho)? Would a fan of WRPG's like it?

it certainly does seem to have a large number of fans.
there's a lite version to try:
itunes.apple.com/us/app/crimsonheart-lite/id499823320?mt=8

based off that, i thought it was pretty nasty
(and not a good-nasty)
and the one time i waded into that TA thread it seemed to be just pages and pages of people bitching about cheaters and hackers, and that didn't get me very excited either.

I don't see how Crimsonheart would appeal to a WRPG fan. I played the lite version and it felt like the game equivalent of a direct to dvd garbage movie.

How important are the heroes to the experience? I've been using my stars to upgrade all my units and abilities instead so far.

Maybe you missed it but there is a rest button on the star distribution screen. This lets you respec your stars.
Perhaps I'm confused?

2.) Is there a comfortable way of holding the iPad? I don't know if it's exclusive to the iPad 3, but it's weighty in a way that makes holding it kinda uncomfortable.

I posted this a couple of days ago, but it got buried behind all the people complaining about quoting images.

It's how I use my iPad lately:

I think I just found my favorite accessory for the ipad... both for gaming and general use.

Why? It works absolutely great for gyroscope racing games. I took Real Racing 2, turned off all assists and used manual brake and acceleration, and it just plays like a dream. Steer the ipad like... well a steering wheel because you can rotate the screen as you play.

Not only that, the stand itself works great with other games. It really doesn't impede on your grip of the ipad. I noticed that when I gamed on the ipad before, I put a lot of strain on my neck as I was holding the ipad. Now, I use the stand to put the weight of the ipad on my stomach, and now I don't have to support the weight with my arms. I know that sounds trivial as the ipad isn't that heavy, but it has made a huge difference for me.

It's a sturdy stand too. The image shows an ipad 1, but it fits my ipad 3 just fine (even with a backcover it'll fit no problem). Anyway, it comes to about ~$20 shipped from monoprice.

I know this post sounds like an ad, but I just wanted to share my experience with thisl

As somebody who has finished the non-HD Galaxy On Fire 2, is there a reason to double dip? I heard that the HD version includes free DLC. Man, might break down just so my new iPad has something pretty.

Looking forward to some space exploration this weekend, I just picked Starbase Orion and Galaxy on Fire 2HD. Starbase is a bit overwhelming especially since I've never played a 4X game but I'm starting to get the hang of it. I love the fact that I can play co-op with another player as we take on the cpu. Is anybody willing to take a newbie under their wing for a game?

Why tetris specifically?
The new tetris is a separate app. If there were such a thing as autouodate tetras wouldn't do so.
