oh my god Score! Classic Goals is sooooo goood. Can't believe how much First Touch excels at soccer games. All three of First Touch Soccer, Dream League Soccer and Score! Classic Goals are EXCELLENT. SO looking forward to the next First Touch Soccer.

Gene Effect update is out. Game now is Universal. Downloading.

Sweet, will buy.

Finished up Waking Mars last night, that was a very pleasant experience all told (apart from the one area that I ruined with the yellow spores and had to spend an hour fixing).

What was the max completion for the game? I'm at 103%, but I have the feeling that I've missed something... I've 5 starred every area and don't appear to have anything left to find though...

I'll be playing a lot of Lost Winds 2 this weekend, and Gene Effect if it's good.

Also free is The Sky is Falling. I don't know if anyone remembers that game from years back where you were a helicopter that flew left to right and moved down slightly each time you passed through the screen. You had to bomb skyscrapers on the way past because if you didn't, you'd get too low and crash into them.

This game is basically that, in reverse! You run along the bottom chased by that ball, and you have to destroy stalactites because the ceiling drops a little every time you pass through.

Very nicely done.

Blitz on the VIC-20. Amazing game, although you were a plane, not a chopper.

Already said but imho worth a repeat.

Gene Effect was updated with a Universal build and a tons of fixes/little updates.

On an iPhone 4S the menus are now crispier than ever and in game light effects are now more subtle (everything is darker too...but there is a new brightness control in options).
The only (minor) quirks I had with the game have been squashed out...in particular now the game support proper multitasking and device rotation.

Time for a second playthrough...all those artifacts will be mine!!!

Must be a real beauty on the new iPad, anyone tried it?

Yes! Best genre by far. :D Twiztid you are in the iOS board-game thread yes? Just wanted to flag it in case not.

No no no! We'll bust out iPad at game night if we're running out of time (b/c you can play Carc or TTR about 20m faster) but it's no substitute. Screen is just too small for big-group gaming, and just the fact that most games don't deal with secret information well and just don't properly think of how to really do single-device gaming. It's still a very cool backup thing to have around or if you're just in a rush, but async is by far the killer feature for me. (Also it's just really cool to be able to easily play TTR, Carc, etc. on a plane -- superfly).

Solution=Apple TV+Big screen TV

Does anyone have any word on the iPhone version of Oh! Cube?

If I had an iPad I'd buy it in a heartbeat but I'm a little worried about the screen size in this case.

Isn't it out already? I could swear I have a version of it on my phone.

Only an unofficial, poor-looking barebones app. We're waiting for the real deal, but unfortunately the dev team seems to be pretty crappy when it comes to PR. (saying it'll be out end of 2011, missing the deadline without a word, saying in february that it comes out in a few weeks, then 3 months of no communication again. Newest ETA is july I believe.)

IB Dungeons looks really pretty neat but I can't wait for Baldur's Gate....

Just downloaded Legendary Heroes - iPad seems perfect for a DOTA clone.

I thought I'd try Robbery Bob since it was free on Freedailyapp. It looked to be a Spymouse clone. Wrong. This game has a v-pad! Otherwise it does have the same basic idea. So then why a v-pad? Why? Delete.

Looking forward to Baldur's Gate as well. I never played the original and I want to see what the hoop-la is about old school Bioware.

The Sword & Poker games are back for those that purchased them in the past. They appear in the purchased section and the downloads work, but using search in the purchase list doesn't seem to find them, have to actually scroll to them. Glad to see these up again since I lost my backups. However, they don't appear to be for sale again, so this only helps previous purchasers.

I can find Lite versions (don't have my device, so cant attempt install, so i dunno if they work):

Sword & Poker LITE

Sword & Poker 2(WW) LITE

Maybe that's a good sign ???

Wish there was search for prev downloads on iPhone :/

Pinball Arcade having to resort to a Kickstarter to fund the Twilight Zone table.

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1067367405/pinball-arcade-the-twilight-zone

We’ve received many requests to bring the Twilight Zone pinball table to the Pinball Arcade. This table was released by Midway under the Bally label and is unquestionably one of the greatest pinball tables of all time (in fact it’s currently #1 in user rankings on the Internet Pinball Database!) We’ve finally succeeded in negotiating all of the licenses we’d need to bring the Twilight Zone to the Pinball Arcade. Unfortunately when we add up the costs of each required license and calculate what we’d have to charge for the table, we’ve realized that the Twilight Zone is just not commercially viable. So we’ve decided to try crowd-funding the cost of the licenses. We’ve set up a Kickstarter project for the Twilight Zone (just the licenses, not the development costs- we’ll cover all of those ourselves). If we can raise enough money through Kickstarter we’ll be able to digitize the Twilight Zone and preserve one of the greatest pinball tables of all time. If we don’t reach our goal no credit cards will be charged, but if we raise more than our goal we’ll be able to digitize other licensed tables as well (like Star Trek: The Next Generation!) We’ve put together a tempting list of rewards to say “thank you” for helping out. Plus the top five contributors will get their initials featured as the default high scores for the table, immortalizing them as true pinball fanatics! Check out our Kickstarter site and video using the link below. Please join us!

It was talked about in the Pinball Arcade thread. They floated it on their fan forums first before they did it. It was generally a positive response.

I'm kind of torn on the situation. It feels like a gross money grab playing on people's nostalgia, but I'm not the one donating money to it.

An opportunity awaits you in the form ... of an extra ball.

Pinball Arcade iOS is my biggest gaming disappointment of the year.

I think my expectations coming off Williams Collection were maybe just too high for the mobile format.

I keep meaning to check it out on PS3 and see if it is any better ... but since I already own Williams Collection I think I kinda already have all the decent tables they (re)released.

If it's the only viable way to bring the table to consumers I don't see the problem. The market will decide if they meet their goal.

IPhone version of bejeweled looks just fine when scaled up on the iPad. Charging $4 for an "hd" version...sigh. I wish all apps had to be universal.

If it's really back I want to add that Sword&Poker 2 was one of the best iOS games and game experiences i have ever had. The combination of Poker and RPG is brilliant.

Do you guys feel totally comfortable holding a tablet while gaming for the most part?

I got the chance to play some platformers and other stuff with virtual buttons/sticks on an ipad and on an android tablet.

It felt awkward holding that big ole tablet and playing those type of games, and reaching my thumbs to hit the buttons, haha. I have a touch and think its fine (hope screen gets bigger next upgrade), so maybe that is why, but I can't see myself playing longer sessions like that.

I then played some Angry birds on a 7in tablet. Holding it felt way better. Didn't get to play a game with virtual buttons/sticks on it though, but from holding it, it seems it would feel better for longer sessions.

I have gotten pretty used to gaming on my iPad. I use some bizarre grip where I have the folded up smart cover on the bottom and I stick my fingers in the cover and then use that to hold the iPad as I game (this is with virtual sticks).

Anything with buttons I play on the iPhone, anything that requires screen real-estate I play on the iPad, they compliment each other pretty well.

Well the point is it's a platform for them to continually improve and add more tables. Just give it time, it's been improving with every update, game center is soon, and in another 6 or so months, you could be looking at like 20 tables in the app, with an improved UI and more.

Seriously disappointed with Gene Effect, downloaded it for my iPad and it has those stupid dumb assed bottom of the screen controls, and no customisation. Argh, fuck that. What a waste of money :\

Yeah, the controls are dumb. And the game itself didn't really grabbed me either. :/

I don't know about 20 tables. They had to do a fucking kickstarter already. :V
