In Front and Drawing Away
For anyone interested, I created a gallery of sorts at Photobucket.com. It includes virtually every drawing I've ever posted in the GAF. Unfortunately, they're not in any particular order (as that would've been waaay too much work), but each pic has a brief description or comment that gives the pic a context. In order to see the caption, just click on the thumbnail of each drawing and it appears at the top.

As bobbyconover recently said of my work after someone else commented on how quickly I can produce a drawing for a topic, "Yea, now if only he were funny...." Well, we can't all be as hilarious as bobbyconover, but I try to entertain a little, while making comments of my own.

I created this gallery for those who do appreciate my contributions to GAF and wouldn't mind revisting some of the pics once in a while.

With only one or two exceptions, every drawing in the GAF Forum gallery was specifically created for this place. They were done with the use of a Wacom Intuous 3 tablet and the Corel Painter IX program (an amazing piece of software).

Why do I do it? I guess because I can. I know I'd appreciate it if someone was doing what I do, so I figured, why not? I see SonicMegaDrive is posting drawings lately, and they're great!

I thank all of you who've been supportive of my work when it occasionally pops up.

Awesome! your work has become a staple entertainment on this forum. Keep it up!!

(the quick work coment was me :P, it's a shame Bobby's taste in humor isn't as great as his taste in game soundtracks)
 
The ones I could actually get to load looked awesome. The RE4 with the GAF avs is awesome. I think everyone included should have that as a poster up on their walls.

some albums experiencing issues

We managed to lose a disk this morning and although no data is lost and its rebuilding, some albums be unavailable for up to an hour or so.

Holy shit. How do you draw so well? I've always thought I could draw pretty decently, but you draw, color (I suck at this) and shade (suck@this too) like a professional artist. I see stuff like this and have to wonder what I've been doing wrong all this time. =|

I'm pretty sure he is a professional artist. Which would explain the professional looking art. i think...
 
I just wanted to comment that all your stuff is awesome, you have a great loose, illustrative style that runs through all your work and the composition going on in some of the stuff in your gallery really reinforces the art.

I just got my intuos3 this year, and I'm really enjoying it so far, although, I've yet to try anything in Painter (dunno why, just haevn't gotten around to it, most of my early experiments have been in Photoshop and Open Canvas.) I love how responsive it is compared to the Graphire though, like night and day.

I don't try desperately to be funny. I don't come here to try to put on some kind of one-man comedy act or to showcase my talents. Yes, I have some too -- talents, that is -- and I'd be willing to guess many of us do! The difference is that we don't shove them in peoples faces all day long. Even if I did think your drawings were funny, which you already know that I don't, I would still be annoyed by their constant presence in every other thread I click on. To make matters worse, they often derail the thread and turn it into the JunkWaffle Show, which is really annoying.

You're a good artist and seem to be able to hammer out quality drawings in no time, which is really cool! There, I'm giving you another pat on the back. Your art is decent. I still don't think this particular forum is the right place to showcase it, though, at least not with such obnoxious frequency.

Anyway, if this thread keeps the art clutter out of actual discussions, I think it's a great idea. Your fans will get to see more of your stuff, and people like me won't be annoyed by it.
 
You must not read the OT enough. I'm much funnier there...I swear. Well, I don't post as much there either, but...I don't know. Good pics. PEACE.

Actually, it will make things easier for other people to repost his pictures, thereby further annoying you. It's the GAF way. :)

I've always thought that if Junk's art contributed to the discussion by illustrating a point, it was a good thing. He doesn't pop into a thread and present a completely unrelated "funny picture" -- it always ties into the issue at hand.

Time to start mining the "MAKE A GAME PICTURE IN PAINT" thread. We can all simply post pictures in response to any post made by bobby!

Okay, okay. Naturally, I hesitated to respond, but here goes...

I'm not really sure how to respond to you, bobby. While I do think you've raised some interesting and maybe even valid points, I'm also a little unsure of how to take your frankly expressed thoughts and feelings. I know you're being honest and sincere expressing yourself like that, and I'd like to respond in kind.

I sense insecurity in you.

But that doesn't mean your points are invalid. I really hope I don't come off as 'desperately trying to be funny.' In fact, I don't think I really post often at all. I've been here (officially) for over a year but I have less than 300 posts, and less than a third of those contain drawings. Seriously, is that a lot? I do realize, however, that art can make an impression unlike words, and so perhaps, my contributions stand out more, are more memorable? Even if they suck, I'd say. And if others are actually bothered as you are, seriously, I'd refrain from posting drawings from now on out of sheer humility (I don't want to attend a party that I'm not invited to, if you know what I mean).

Um, and I don't really need your little pats on my back. Really, dude. Not to be haughty, but to be simply truthful and blunt here, do you really think I don't hear compliments on my skills? All throughout my life since like the age of 10? To say nothing of the money I make on my art? I know what I can do, as anyone with a special skill or talent does. I'm actually a pretty secure guy and I'm rather humble about receiving compliments. Seriously, I don't 'need' your love and approval.

This is not to say that I don't like to be appreciated. Most of what I draw for GAF is not tremendously time consuming, but that doesn't mean I don't want someone to enjoy it. Come on, everyone jokes around here. Mostly with words. Often with photos and photoshops. And thank god for it! I love those photoshop threads! I just do it a little differently. Like I said, I can see how mine stand out a bit for any number of reasons, but really, you want to snuff out my contributions? What about people who might enjoy my always harmless, sometimes sucky drawings? You decide for them too?

Or is this about something else? I think you're having some kind of transference issue with me or something. Anyway, so tell me, what do you think I should do, bobbyconover?

I read this forum every day, for many hours. I had seen maybe 5 of those pictures out of the 90 something pictures. You make it sound like you can't enter a thread without tripping over them.

His pictures are no more rediculous than people posting Owls that say O RLY. Thats what makes this place what it is. Finding someone with a good sense of humor isn't easy, finding someone with a good sense of humor with a capacity for art and timing, thats rare. I say keep posting.

Where are your crusades concerning all of the nonsensical photoshops that plague this forum in an hourly basis? This is a forum built upon developers, translators, inside jokes and short lived gimmicks like the Owls so I see JW as breath of fresh air from the amateur hour photoshops zealots who constantly try to attain very cheap laughs and/or attention (not all just most). JW does great VG comics this is a VG forum so I really don't see the problem.
 
Your pictures are REALLY great, besides the Drinky pics, my favourite is the Yoshi picture :).
 
wtf bobbyconover. How about you take that stick out of your ass before you sit down to read the forum. It might make things more enjoyable.
