The Last of Us Remake Gameplay has leaked

The levels have been modified they seem more wide to accommodate the new combat melee systems, I hope everything is tighter in higher difficulty settings. The videos are low quality I will wait for a direct feed. I hate the leaks the spoil all the fun before hand.
Joel's head looks weird, the way he moves, shoots, everything seems off...

Yeah I mean I'd be fine if this were like a free PS plus extra game

$70 is laughable though, I hope this bombs. It's nowhere near the reimagining that, say, Demons Souls or SotC was
Considering they hid the gameplay, and were vague about the gameplay changes, leading some to believe it would have TLOU2 mechanics, I very much agree. I feel $50 would've been stretching it, even if you don't include the lack of MP.

It does I was watching on a bigger screen. And yeah the models are not that good. This build is weird if that is the final product it is kind of disappointing. I will wait for it to be patched and ironed out.

As of now I say let's see how the final product looks. I think it's so strange to see such a large difference in fidelity between the opening scene and the leaked gameplay we got today (yes, even with the first scene being 480p). New leaks look like TLOU with better lighting. And before some of you pop up with claims of it looking worse than the PS3 game (so ridiculous) here's a TLOU2 cutscene/ on rail captures I literally just played through to refresh your awful memories

They seem embarrassed to show it, and rightfully so.

This project is cursed. Originally started by Sony San Diego, then the team had nothing to work on after TLOU2 due to mismanagement at ND. They also transitioned to a "crunch less" environment and these are the results, half assed, a day late, and a dollar short.

The game got leaked by J Schreier, then leaked again before the unveiling, now this mediocre gameplay footage that looks worse than TLOU2 got leaked. Lmfao. They are scrambling to conjure up an impressive gameplay demo that selectively hides the flaws

This isn't the ambitious and efficient studio that made Uncharted 2 and TLOU. We haven't even seen anything more than artwork for Factions which is many years in development

Good luck on getting a new single player game from them before 2027

This is indeed one of the video games of all time
the graphics were rendered, the gameplay was there, and the story was existent
score/10

It doesn't look worse than TLOU2 visually, that's extreme cap. Maybe people expected better since it's PS5 only so they're overexaggerating out of disapointpoint, but it looks on par, well the non-washed out version of the video anyway.

This made me laugh. A ND artist was recently boasting about how he didnt crunch at all for this project and i was like the game looks last gen, maybe you should have. lol. Got ratio'd brutally by Sony twitter but now I am thinking maybe they shouldve spent more time on the project and brought it up to TLOU2 standards. If not visuals then gameplay at the very least.

I remember Neil and Cory both defending their crunch culture as a necessity just a year ago when Jason was exposing them for crunch. Creating Art is just different. Movie studios have similar crunch. they are on set for 18-20 hours a day for months. The CG studios do constant crunch to get movies out on time. It sucks but thats the profession they chose. This game has been in dev for almost 4 years now. 2 years under ND. I can completely understand Sony not wanting to spend 3 years of ND on this thing, but that meant they had to cut features and well now we see they cut pretty much everything gameplay related because they didnt want to crunch, and because sony didnt want to increase the budget.

This reminds me of EA and how they gave Bioware 5 years to make Mass Effect Andromeda but they wasted 3 years prototyping a No Mans Sky like procedural universe system that they ended up throwing away. Then EA gave them 18 months to make Andromeda and it was a disaster. Same thing happened with Anthem. For five years, they prototyped Anthem. Then EA gave them 18 months to ship. Whose fault is it? EA's or Bioware? They didnt crunch for the first 3-5 years and ended up crunching at the end anyway.

It'll do okay but I mean bomb in the sense that it underperforms expectations
I feel they had to take that into account. I think somebody said it best here already, but they sell more closer to Xmas, when it dropped a few bucks. Then an up tick again when the show starts. Then some smart ass marketing guy will say the first TLOU sold Millions, but includes all the versions from every generation.

let's not give any benefit of the doubt to them as they haven't shown any official gameplay of a remake of a re-release that releases in just over a month.

Naughty Dog are known for their animation prowess, what the hell happened here? I was hyped as fuck to play as Joel again with Part II's fidelity and gameplay, but I'm so dissapointed now...

Let's just hope that the leaked videos are from a very old build.

"Old build" thing is always cope, just like day one patches.

This was handled by Bend/VAS. A tiny team from Naughty Dog took over and likely just put their name on it and some other touch ups. This was never a from the ground up Naughty Dog remake.

But of course, the internet is retarded.

Pack it up folks. The animations are a copy pasta.

EDIT: the reveal trailer looks way better than this. This just might be an older build. Maybe when the VSG studio was working on it before ND took over. There is no way the gulf between cutscenes and gameplay is this big. I am team fake.

The game is a full priced next-gen only PlayStation 5 exclusive, and its missing the entire multiplayer component. I'd say expectations are right where they should be: this game needs to be absolutely God-tier to justify its existence and price tag. For it to be "on par" with a cheaper, longer PS4 game, is in itself automatically disappointing. Of course, leaks don't mean shit - wait for the final product and see what Naughty Dog have actually released.

If this was truly a remake they would have blended the Left Behind DLC into the main game right at the start of Winter. I said it when they revealed this and I'll say it again. This is just a Remaster 2.0.

Not gonna lie, that made uncharted look fun as fuck
I hope the entire game's like that and not just the hidey hidey shooty shooty utter bollocks that most cover shooters are
Just play on Easy and it will be like that. For whatever reason, the Normal difficulty is pretty much unplayable if you want to run around like that. Enemies have laser aim and will hit you immediately. You wont die right away on Normal but you will spend the entire game in black and white, and thats no way to play this game.

Just play on easy and have fun. The combat mechanics which include an enhanced melee and much better gunplay is really fun especially in the second half of the game.

looks and plays exactly like the original (I don't mean fidelity but if you dropped the resolution enough they'd be difficult to tell apart) and so much for audio-only listen mode. Expecting an official blog post today

I'd like to add that we never got a real ps5 version of LoU2 that we thought would have been a sure thing by now. Dual sense support, tweaks to visuals, better than 1440p etc

I can't get over how little this Remake lives up to the bold claims by ND and the $70 price

Oh and Joel's HEAD ..

IF this Remake doesn't start waking people up to just how slimy Sony has become I don't know what will

Hype is gone for me. Was looking forward to replay it, haven't played it since PS3. But it looks just like I remember it, I'm sure it's improved but without a comparison it looks the same.

Looks like TLoU remastered. At least we now know why they didn't show any gameplay.

I'll play it when it hits PS+. 70$ for this is ridiculous.

Going to skip this and wait for factions.

They should have held off on this and did a PS5 remake for both Part 1/Part 2 and bundle those games with factions. In that case the $70 price would have made more sense.

This is a straight up cash grab and nothing else.

Yep, that's the last of us 1 like I know like the back of my hand....so good to see Joel playing those classic scenes. Didn't like the foot floating in mid air when he jumped through the window in the first video. Gameplay looks identical, game looks just how you remember it. Same animations, same gameplay.

I'll play it when it's dirt cheap as it's my fav, but that is a cash grab and a half...no doubt about it. Some of it looks off. No way this couldn't run on a ps4, its such a strange project all around to me. The platform, the price, the length if development. Why it git green lit, just strange.

If they didn't implement Last of us 2 gameplay, I think I'm going to wait to it. I'm sure it will look just as good but gameplay was the strength of part 2.

For those of you on the fence. Just wait for it to come to their sub plans. Returnal is already available and that came out only a little more than a year ago.

Should've given it to Bluepoint, let them go at it for a couple more years and call it The Last of Us Reimagined, do an alternative ending with the likely consequence that Joel is living, and enjoy people throwing money at then.

It really does look like the gameplay hasn't been changed. This is disappointing and not worth the $70 anymore. I was really hoping it would use TLOU2's gameplay.

Pretty much. There's no appeal outside of the visual upgrade, which I'm not entirely sold on anyway since a few of the characters look weird. I may pick it up later (much, much later) when it's extremely cheap.

Worth picking up for those who have never played it, basically useless for everyone else.

Yea I will wait until the bargin bin.

The consumer is the abby and the guy behind is drunkman for charging full price again

Looks like the consumer is enjoying consuming it, in the whole.

The Last of Us 1 is my favourite game (just after it there are games I love like Resident Evil 4 or Half Life 2), but Imust say those gameplay videos looks very similar as I remember the ps4 remaster. In fact, if someone showed me that and told me is from the remaster I would believe it instantly.
