How many maps does the MP have with the DLC?
7 original, 8 dlc, 15 total.

Thats because youtube sucks. Look at MGSV demo on gamersyde... see it on your tv and its like you are playing the game. The quality is almost flawless. Certainly does the game all the justice (at least visually) it can be made.
Yeah, that's exactly what it is. They had to tack in on late in development because some people wouldn't have headphones or surround sound systems to support the situational awareness the audio affords you. If you can use those, do it. You can tell where enemies are all the time just from audio clues. For someone who's not played this, what's Focus? Am I right to understand it's a chargeable function that lets you see enemy movement through walls or something, kinda like Splinter Cell's sonar goggles?
If so, I can understand why it's best to turn it off. Surprised they added it; sounds like quite an atmosphere detraction.

2. You, AND EVERYBODY ELSE, who didn't take the plunge into MP owes it to themselves to do so this time around at 60fps. I am a competitive focussed player, not pro or obsessive, but I love social contest - and this game is my MP of the last 5 years. It is intensely tactical, cooperative, credible, stressful, real, in all the ways that countless military shooters claim to be, and this is not one of those. In terms of references: Gears of War for it's small team 3rd person arena combination with strategy, emphasis on revives and following-through with executions, teamplay. It moves like nothing else, so fluid traversal, your avatar touching and connecting with the world, and the pace is forced to a more gradual, considered, cagey rhythm which I adore. Maybe more Splinter Cell, or Day Z.. life is precious and all of the values of SP carry over. Listen Mode is your radar, that makes careless players lighthouses, and stealthy ones predators. It is beautiful to have matches erupt into occasional crescendo firefights that ebb and flow and dissipate as the stakes get too high. TRY IT. You will get butchered at first, I did, there will be dozens of seasoned players returning. But skill is the only advantage, it is balanced. You will find your own style, and love will ensue. At least play yourself through 12 weeks of getting your head caved in, and by then you'll know..

Still can't decide what difficulty I wanna play this on my first time through.
This sounds great. There hasn't been a game since the original Gears of War that really captivated me multiplayer wise. Heck, hardly any multiplayer games even have a system where dying really matters. It's like playing poker for fake money, no one cares about playing like a jackass and it completely changes the dynamic. Really looking forward to digging into this. Thanks for the great write up.2. This is something I would have wrote but you did!
Are you me?
Hard.....I finished it on Normal, and cant wait to replay it on Hard
All I know is that I'm gonna play the singleplayer on 30FPS and the multi at 60FPS.

Why? The whole game runs at 60All I know is that I'm gonna play the singleplayer on 30FPS and the multi at 60FPS.

You will fucking love it. There's no way that you won't.

There's only one way to play this and that's on Hard for your first playthrough.
In fact Hard should have been the default Normal.
What isn't included in the multiplayer that I will have to pay for on day one? Since it says that PS3 users have access to stuff that I won't without DLC?
Hard Mode and turn Listen Mode off, if Survivor is available from the beginning I'd suggest going for it, it is the true TLoU experience.
Serious?
Well then Hard listen mode off right?
Damn..
Hats, and a few weapons and loadout skills. The weapons and loadout skills can be used in the pre-made loadouts available to everyone, but to use them in custom loadouts you would need to buy them. My advice would be to try out a few of the pre-made loadouts to test out some of the dlc weapons and skills to see if you want to purchase any of them. Do not worry about being at a disadvantage though if you don't buy them as the dlc weapons and skills do not bring any balance issues.
Yeah. The gunplay and strategy offered with the throwables really suck a dick...
All I know is that I'm gonna play the singleplayer on 30FPS and the multi at 60FPS.
I don't understand. Are you saying the gunplay sucks dick?
Yeah. Only way to play this (first time through) is to just brick everyone. /s
That's how you should play anywaysYeah. Only way to play this (first time through) is to just brick everyone. /s

The gunplay improves as you upgrade Joel, as in gun sway, aiming, etc.I don't understand. Are you saying the gunplay sucks dick?
I still don't understand either. Brick everyone?
Only if they include a lock option. Why would they possibly rerender cutscenes at 60 and leave SP running at 30 in gameplay? Besides, the brief gameplay we've seen was 60.Agreed.
SP will be 30 fpsyou should mark my words
That's how you should play anyways
Never touch those filthy bottles though. Never know whose mouth has been there.
Agreed.

The poster I was responding to suggested Survivor for first play through for "the true TLoU experience." Survivor difficulty gives you very few supplies/melee weapons leaving you with bricks as your main weapons. I disagree with this point and used sarcasm to refute it. Apologies for confusion.
The gunplay is amazingly satisfying and I recommend normal difficulty for first time play through.

1. I heard the cutscenes will still use the ingame models, and as those have been dramatically improved, expect nothing PS3.

I hope shecan confirm that SP is running at 30 fpsntkrnl
I'm still putting my money on SP=30 fps en MP=60fps
@arne How big are the chances that SP and MP will run at 60fps. I read a lot of guys saying MP runs at 60fps but nothing bout SP.
Are you guys gonna play us like a fiddle?
So....
SP = 30 fps
MP = 60 fps
Burn....
GAF will melt if it isnt 60fps![]()
It is the intricate design of the ND engine bespoke for the PS3/cell design which is very exotic architecture.Guys, I'm worried/confused about the power of this new generation of consoles.
This time last year I would have thought the PS4 could run any PS3 game at 1080p/60fps without breaking a sweat.
So why all this will it or won't it, with regards to The Last of Us Remastered? It seems now it will be the full package but even the devs seemed unsure about 60fps early on.
The PS3 seemed to handle PS2 remasters with relative ease by comparison.
GoodYou are in for a ride
