No but the fact that this version is going to look and play better than the version that won GOTY 2013 will definitely be bad-fucking-ass!!! After this and Destiny I honestly couldn't care less about another game releasing this year besides the Halo Collection and MAYBE Sunset Overdrive. I'm really nervous about Alien Isolation and The Evil Within and am absolutely DONE with COD and BF. Never been into the Dragon Age series either but the new one sure does look nice.
You know... maybe TLOU should win it twice.

No I'm not, Destiny and Titanfall don't stand a chance. Traditionally mutiplayer titles never win the majority of the GOTY awards. Games released in the first half of the year never win either. Hell Destiny was fully playable at E3 and couldn't even beat Evolve with most of the critics. Unless Destiny has a 10/10 story, which nothing in the Alpha showed, I personally don't think it will win much. There are some Dark Horses this year though, like LOTR:SoM, but not many.

Honestly I was a lurker for like ever, then I finally decided to try and get an account. It sounds weird that I wouldn't understand the site if I was lurking forever, but I really only came here for the fast news and all that. E3 coverage was awesome on here. When I first got my account, I still lurked, didn't really know what to say and I felt like most of my input was unneeded.
This E3 I finally started posting, having gotten the account around December. Then the World Cup came, and now I post a decent amount, I guess. Still slacking in that department. Don't you become a full member at like 300 posts or something? If that is the case I am pretty close.
Anyways, how long do you think it will take for the price to drop that much? I have been sort of waiting to replay the story for this edition, so I sort of want it soon, but I still don't think I should buy it at $60. Such a conflict. Hate no games in the summer.

Someone did say that TR 2013 ripped off uncharted completely.
Well it's actually $50 to start, if that helps your decision at all.

Well, the game is going to be selling for $50 at all retailers (Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart,etc). I'd say that you will probably find a sale a month after for maybe $40's or so. You won't see sale for it at $30 until October maybe.
Destiny isn't a short demo pick up and play kind of game. I'm almost certain it will be very well received on release, with mostly great review scores. It's a massive, deep, highly rewarding and expansive game, we got that much from the Alpha coupled with the numerous spliced footage. Short demo's, such as those found at events like E3 however, just aren't the right environment to sell it.

Literally everyone who played Destiny was addicted to that shit (including me), and we barely know anything about the story. If that delivers as well into one cohesive package and plenty of content, it will surely take GOTY. It's pretty much a more refined version of borderlands with the potential for a better story, better gameplay, and more content.

Maybe because it's an annualized franchise? Those games come too often so they feel redundant year in year out.
AC2 certainly did. I'd say Unity has a fair shot if it refines things as much as they're saying.

AC3 won the most with 25. AC2 is next with 14, and then it's Black Flag with 6.

I'm just saying for the last 7 years no game has won majority that's focused on mutiplayer, and no I was'nt addicted to it I played though got max and stopped because there was nothing else to do except competitive.

Those arent talking about the same thing. The first is about the person who said something that made my caps blow off, the other is about those who blindly defended him and failed to point out the flaw in his logic: how can TR rip off Uncharted if TR came first.
Does a little, I hadn't really been paying attention to price I just assumed it was 60. Ah well. I guess I will think about it.

The point still stands. As a junior member you need to be careful with your words, moreso than a full member. The tolerance for even intentional satire is really low as a junior. If you have a point to make, use your logic. And when someone disagrees don't spew that crap.

Now, I would never use derogatory fanboy titles even today because it's childish and console wars are stupid. Even if people have preferences, picking a side like a sports team is ignorant and pointless. But when I was a junior? Hoooo, boy! I behaved like I was walking on eggshells.
I avoided getting in fights and saying anything inflammatory, and even when I didn't quite succeed (it's hard, I know) I made sure never to cross the line into name calling and childish accusations. I did this because I loved GAF even then, and I knew if I was banned for even the littlest thing--that was it. I was gone for good. And I'd never get to participate in the awesome community.
Now I'm a member so I can make mistakes--of course I try not to--but I still don't participate in that fanboy drivel. If I wanted to be a part of a community that accepts that I'd go to one of the thousands of other forums out there.
That's my thought, anyway.

I guess we'll see. The likely success of this and GTA means we'll be getting more than a couple new remasters in the coming future.

Calling it a "rip-off" is outright wrong, but what people are referring to is how Uncharted influenced TR 2013, and only that one game, not the franchise.
Did you even play the reboot? The first several TR games certainly didn't have cover based gunplay, a bunch of action set pieces, or focus so heavily on gun fights with humans.
You know what game does do all that, though? Uncharted.

Will we? Checking amazon, the ps3 version is currently discounted to $30 from $40 and that's over a year old and without any dlc. Not to mention the remastered version is incoming. I know there are more ps3 owners than ps4 owners, but you think there'd be a firesale on it right now.
Good god. AC3 (the game that singlehandedly killed all of my interest in the series) won that many goty awards? What the hell? AC2 is infinitely better than that tripe.

The widely held weakest AC entry has almost twice as many GOTY awards as arguably the strongest (I'd go AC:B->ACIV->ACII but they're all pretty close)? Man. The more you know.

Indeed. The one thing UC did well at first was blending third person shooting with platforming. While UC is rather combat heavy, TR 2013 has a much superior level design when it comes to platforming.
But there indeed were mutual influences that benefited both franchises.

I haven't, but I remember reading/watching an interview (don't remember where from) with some people from naughty dog saying that OG tomb raider influenced uncharted somehow.
take that with a grain of salt, but I'm positive of reading/watching that interview.
I agree with both of you. When you're a junior member, you cannot make any fuck-ups. Once you do, you're banned forever.
NeoGAF isn't like other gaming messageboards where you get warnings, infractions, or suspensions, & that's what plenty of junior members here fail to realize, especially when it's hard to get an account here.

Well, that's only a little over two months from now. So it's not too far. You'll get the superior experience anyway. I'm sure many people would've preferred to be able to play it at 1080p/60fps for their first time.

I am very sorry for prolonging the off-topic, but in my experience even as a regular member, you have to be considerate when posting. If for no other reason, then for common sense and respect towards the other posters.
Of course, mistakes happen, and I was part of the casualties of the DF MK8 thread due to my knee-jerk reaction to the article. Now I know better...
Permanent bans can also hit regular members when they cross certain lines (remember what happened to famousmortimer).
