When The Last of Us releases on HBO, the show's first season will consist of 10 episodes in total. That piece of information was revealed by writer and executive producer Craig Mazin in a recent appearance on the Scriptnotes podcast. Mazin dropped that information while mentioning that the show will have five directors across 10 episodes, though not all have been announced yet. Mazin also confirmed that the first three to four episodes of the show have been completely written. At this time, it's unclear exactly how much the first season will cover of the game, but hopefully we'll know more in the near future!

9 episodes of Abby.
I want to see her get a pump in the gym then get pumped in the locker room.
Cmon Joel you know you wanna piece of that.
No honestly I hope Joel gets to fuck her before she takes him for a 2 under par on the 18th hole.

From my personal experience, the less the better. 10 means it's gonna be good, with no loose ends, unnecessarily prolonged themes etc.

Good amount, if the season is gonna be a remake of the first game, i'd imagine the episodes are paced like this:
  1. Joel
  2. Ellie
  3. Bill
  4. Sam & Henry
  5. Tommy
  6. University
  7. David pt.1
  8. David pt.2
  9. Giraffes
  10. Firefly Lab

I will be shocked if it even remotely follows the structure of the first game.

If it's going to be a good show it shouldn't try to do that.
