The Legend of Zelda and voice acting.

It was an on-running joke that Laura (the main character in D, Enemy Zero and D2) never spoke even though everyone else did. Even in the most goriest parts of D2 all she did was scream and breathe heavily (insert your own joke here).

Hell, maybe Nintendo could go all out and develop a spoken hylian language. If Sega can have an original language in Panzer Dragoon, why not Nintendo?
Don't forget Banjo-Kazooie. :D

kekekekekeke no.

kekeke Yes!

99.9 dubs total crap only power ranger fan would like

90 percent of japanese voice acting with subtitles= excellent minus needing quick reading skills.

Can work same for games

Not only am I against voice acting in a Zelda game, I'm completely against any cinematics or cut-scenes at all. I've said it time and time again: If I want a movie, I'll watch a movie. When I play games, I want to actually be doing something. More often than not these days I find myself screaming at the screen, "GET ON WITH IT! I WANT TO PLAY THE DAMN GAME!".

I've envisioned Link as myself when I play. That is one of the factors as to why I don't. I'm against it in the Zelda series.

I never understood the logic behind people thinking it's easier to identify with a mute protagonist. How is it easier to sympathize with a soulless shell of a character with no personality? Or did I just answer my own question?

Maybe I'm just not into the whole OH WOW THIS CHARACTER DOES NOT TALK-- I CAN TOTALLY PRETEND ITS ME thing.

I've never had the mood of a game ruined by the lack of voice acting. Not so the other way around i'm afraid. case in point... C:SotN. Walking though some deep dark cavern, water dripping. What's that ahead?... Ooohh, cool, boatman on the river Styx type thing. I'll just slowly walk up to him and...

"I'll take you someplace really good, cackle"

Ugh.... oh well, might as well get on the boat.

Get thee to a NES or 2600 and leave those of us who need reasons for going to Pointless Dungeon X alone :P

and alienate the mainstream? Have you heard that SEGA is now 3rd party and stupid?

Aren't u forgetting the Sims, the number 1 selling PC game of all time! That used simlish, a unique language, as does Sims 2.
