Just heard the rubbish trucks make a noise like a mechanical elephant.

DIVINE BEAST VAH RUTA?

Actually you can break ice blocks without arrows, if that's the one scene you had in mind.

Besides this is me:

:)

Hyrule Castle has plenty as well :)

I already had the cost of the armor since I always carry a stash of rupees so =P

Mining
If you see a bunch of black rocks or glowing rocks (this happen in some places at night) and hit them with a hammer or a greatsword you can obtain ore/gems that you can sell to vendors.

Mining Tips
There are black rocks that have little colored dots around them which mean they give you better and more valuable gems.
The Tallus minibosses always grant you a lot of ore/gems so you can farm them if you want since they also respawn every Blood Moon.
There are spots that have a lot of rarer gems and they also respawn with time, I just mark them in my map with a symbol and when I needed gems I just go there and mine a bit.

Selling Ore/Gems Tips
The more common types are flint, amber and glowing rocks (I forgot the name) and you can obtain so much of them that is worth your time to sell them.
I also usually sell some of the rarer ones (Opal, Ruby, Topaz and the blue ones) but don't sell them all
because you may need them to upgrade armor or
exchange them for the special weapons
The glowing rocks are incredible common and you can find an NPC that will exchange you 10 of them for a diamond... but is better to sell those 10 glowing rocks than the diamond itself. Yeah, roll with it lol
There is a vender in Goron City that buy gems for a higher place than every other place but I think she only buys in batches of 10... don't remember rn

A more general tip to gain rupees if you like to fight a lot is to sell some of the monster parts that you may have in excess.

Whoa... thanks alot!

Talk to
Rhondson while standing on her table
for a nice piece of dialogue that made me chuckle. The dynamic conversations in this game really makes it for me. It's like they thought of everything!

It's great that some NPCs talk their everyday things, do activities, etc. but not everything is tied to a quest. Sometimes they just tell things for the sake of being funny. A lot of NPCs in Gerudo are like this.

And sometimes, they talk about trivia, that gives you hints as to where to find something in the world. For how unbelievable all video game NPCs are if you look at them too closely, that aspect reinforces how those in BotW are actually a part of its world.

Finished my last sidequests today. Already got every Shrine and completed the PokéDex and upgraded most of the armor I want to. Running out of things to do before Ganon lol. I think I want to get a few more Korok seeds (only at a little over 150, would LIKE to max out my weapon slots but that would mean another 100+ seeds...) but I'll probably be jumping into the end soon. DLC can't come soon enough. I NEED MORE.

I have never come across, or even heard of, that first one after 100+ hours and 135 seeds. Could someone point out a location where I could experience this type of Korok puzzle so I know what I'm looking for thereafter?

There is one right next to the
Akkala great fairy
. 1,2,3,4 are around a tree. 5 is up another tree.

i've been enjoying this so much that i regret buying a wii u for it. i thought i'd be OK just sitting on my bed playing on TV but i want to take the game with me everywhere now. the wii u gamepad can only go so far and it's not really comfortable to use or stare at the screen which gives me a headache.

returned the wii u. traded in zelda for the switch version. will hopefully get hold of a switch soon.

I'm really enjoying the game but also having a hard time adjusting to the weapon/shield breakability. I'm a natural hoarder and a player that wants to minimize risk.

Often, I don't directly engage enemies, but using bombs to slowly pick their health and sparing my good weapons. It also keeps me from getting insta-killed, which otherwise happens regularly. This feels pretty wrong. Should I just delve in and using my good stuff on random Bokoblins I encounter?

Another thing that worries me a bit is that I'm still running around in my first set of clothes and am barely finding any rupees. I've progressed just a bit after the second village.

I really want to open my Zelda Amiibos I picked up to use them, especially for the Wolf Link but I keep stopping myself because they look nice in their boxes and are easy to stack that way.

.

But I want to open... :-/

If you know what you're doing, you can open them in a way that you can then put them back and it's nearly impossible to tell they've been opened. As a Transformers collector I've been perfecting this for years (deluxes also come in blisters).

I should put up a video on how to do it, but in the meantime, the key is leaving the top of the blister untouched. You carefully separate the sides and bottom from the cardboard with a dull knife (this is so you don't accidentally cut into the plastic instead), and leave the top as a hinge. You have to be careful not to damage the cardboard, and also leave the bottom flap intact. In the case of amiibos, the top can rotate 90 degrees without breaking, allowing you to pull out the entire plastic tray with the amiibo. Then when you want to put them back into the blisters, use the bottom flap to hold the cardboard and blister in place.

I'm a natural hoarder too (in real life with money and in games) but it helped me to just go balls out and use my weapons. You'll find so much better loot along the way. It got to the point where I had to keep dropping good weapons because better ones kept appearing. Go on and use them!

There's at least two more Korok puzzles I can think of.

Flowers that are bunched in groups of 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, all nearby each other. Touch them in the right sequence to activate.

oh wow really? I have not noticed this

it's kinda amazing that after over hundred hours played I still learn about new things in this game

I have collected over 200 Koroks by now, and yesterday I encountered two new types that I didn't know of before. I think it's me keeping more attention to the surroundings, because I find the Korok seeds much easier now compared to when I started playing.

Crossposting from the other thread:

I figured out the formula for how much vendors will buy your elixirs for. It stumped me until I realized the number of ingredients is a factor, in the most literal sense.

The formula is:
(Selling price of all raw ingredients x factor) rounded up to the nearest multiple of 10.
Factor is:
1.8 for elixirs with 2 ingredients (which is the minimum as you need a bug/frog/etc. plus a monster part).
2.1 for elixirs with 3 ingredients.
2.4 for elixirs with 4 ingredients.
2.8 for elixirs with 5 ingredients.

Does the game remember items you drop? Could I like those gear I want to save later in, say, the house in hateno?

I'm afraid not, sorry.

Yes they are really well designed. If you have a keen eye you'll find them on every journey you make.

There's the meme about how there are 900 and how boring it all this. But I still get very excited when I find one lol

Anyone know a good way to get rupees? I am trying to
buy the house but I feel like I usually am always around 500-1500 rupees. I heard about a bowling game that nets you lots of rupees but I am wondering where that is. Also, would I need to have warmer clothes than the Doublet? I saw the bowling involves snow.

The easiest way to get rupees is by selling things.

I have 14 melee weapon slots now, and I'm actually happy when weapons break now. Then I don't have to decide which weapon to throw away when I find something better.

You'll not have any issues finding new weapons. They are all over the place. Just make sure that you find Korok seeds so you can store more weapons when you find usable ones. Weapon variation is important if you want to preserve your weapons as long as possible. Use ice weapons on fire enemies, fire weapons on ice enemies, and so on, to reduce usage. Use sledgehammers for mining.

Personally I marked most of the Stone Talus on my map, so every Blood Moon I can go farm them to get a lot of gems to sell (about 20k rupees). Though depending on how far you are in the game it might not be ideal. You can at least fight the one on the Plateau, he often drops diamonds.

Apparently selling cooked meals in pretty efficient too.

About 30 hours in. Haven't even tried to take down a Stone Tallus. What weapon variation would you recommend to take them down?

he does know if you dropped a special weapon or shield, the ones you get after every colossus... i went to riju's assistant and she told me that the shield was already in this world and she could only referee the sword because it actually break... no idea if the shield it's still where I dropped it though

the same you use to break mineral rocks of course

Really? Not even the one in the Great Plateau? Use a weapon that has good durability like a hammer. If you prefer distance combat, then bomb arrows are good.

I think the first one I saw, I was underpowered so I just booked it and created this idea in my head that they were super OP.

What I normally do is climb it's back and do the charge special with a heavy weapon on its weak points. And use arrows (any arrows would do actually depending on how powerful your bow is but bomb arrows are the best) when pushed off and run to a distance to avoid being stomped.

Appreciate that and everyone else who has responded. I'll be going for my house then tomorrow morning!

It's amazing how seamlessly I can defeat them now. Can finish them (and Hinox) in less time than it takes me to defeat the stronger Moblins and Bokoblins.

First 40 hours I just kept running away from them.

Does sadden me that there isn't a greater boss variety though...

The one in
the south east corner, in the little pool of water
as well? I have problems with that specific Talus. The only approach that I can defeat that Talus without spending huge amounts of time is by using bomb arrows.

Yes I did that one yesterday in fact. That's the one near Lurelin village?

Those white Moblins and Bokoblins are annoying. So much HP.

What, really? And you're sure you don't have it mounted on your house? If so, this warrants further testing for science. I have the unique Gerudo shield mounted on my house and I don't mind losing it, it'll drop it on the ground in my house and see what happens.

No, east of the lab.
Oh I haven't done that one. Does it have higher HP than the others? Is it tougher? I just read there's a type called Rare Talus. Is it that?

I'll give him a try today.

Yes. I go in for the kill thinking this will be a breeze and then it's like WTF.

The one thing I'm still scared of are Lynels. Have barely attempted to learn how to defeat them. I watched that guys video where he outlines the tactics to defeating them, but I didn't retain any of it and I'll prefer to just learn it all myself one death at a time :)

you know what, now I have the doubt.. I don't remember putting it on my house because I usually only put there the strongest I get.. but now I'm not really sure.. I'm going to check when i' m back home.

Yep :(

I really wish at least each major area had a unique boss. Give me an arctic boss found in the Hebra mountains, an aquatic boss out in the seas of Lanayru or Faron, a fire/lava boss which hangs out on Death Mountain, some sort of boss guardian in Akkala, and put some big intimidating creature in the Colosseum as the Central Hyrule boss. Molduga was so good, every region needs an equivalent of that!

This is my first Zelda game. Are the boss types in the game recycled from previous Zeldas? Are there more they could've used?

Higher HP, combined with being in water. The attacks by the Talus seem to make similar damage.

I have also encountered an
Ice Talus
that was fun. Required a bit different tactics.

I keep finding myself wishing the map markers were more dynamic. Like I wish I could tag a sticker with a sticker so I could stamp a skull with a gemstone and know that's a stone talus.

Ah yes the Hebra Mountains one was tough.

The Igneous one I just decided to treat like a normal rock one and just didn't care about the heat damage I took by climbing it lol
